Any official firmware free from bloatware? - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

I've noticed that every Sony Ericsson's firmware for it's Android phones come with unnecessary apps (Twitter, Facebook etc.).
In my old X10 mini, I've decided to install MiniCM7 and finally break free from those bloatwares.
However, I'm currently using a WT19a and, well, here are the bloatwares again.
I know that I can unlock the bootloader (using Sony Ericsson's method of their site) and install any of the ROMs available here in XDA-Developers.
But, I'm holding off until Sony's official ICS firmware is released to decided if I want to install a custom ROM or not.
I just took a look at WotanServer site and noticed they have many official firmwares there.
My question is: are those firmwares just like the ones that come from SEUS, aka "full of bloatware"?
Yea, I know that I can just install it by myself and test, but I don't want to waste time reinstalling and reconfiguring everything in the case they have bloatwares too.

You could just root and uninstall the crapware. Easier than custom roms and don't break upgrades.

update-ability

after a few searches i only found similar topics in forums on other phones (useless) SO
if i have rooted, jited, removed stock apps, but kept stock SE 2.1 platform (i believe thats the word im looking for) can i use the stock "check for updates" option, for example to try to get mediascape updates and official dual touch firmware....
i asked in a few other posts and found that many people installed the XDA dual touch, and then the SE official dual touch over it without any issues.
im not sure if trying to use the SE updates will undo the work i did to my phone
because i absolutly love my phone now, it runs smooth like silk and snappy snappy
Apparently so, I've used a few themes and mods without changing the ROM as such, and been able to upgrade, but if you update via PC then you will have to re-root, etc.

If you upgrade using PCC or SEUS then you will lose root/ jit etc.. Doesn't take long to get it all back again though.

[q] what apps are safe to remove after root

Hi
I'm still quite new to rooting and moddifying my phone so any help would be much appreciated.
Before the gingerbread update come out for my X10i I had rooted my own phone along with a few of my mates phones by folllowing the flashtool guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343. I also installed the JiT etc to try getting better proformance from my own phone.
Since the update I have gone back to stock so I could update my phone and now have the latest version of flashtool, but waited before rooting anything.
Can anyone supply a list of the stock apps that are safe to remove as I am sure there is probably more now since the old flashtool. Also any ideas on how to get more proformance from my stock ROM (without using a moddified ROM as I am not confident enough to play about with those yet) will be much appreciated
Find on General section, i ever seen one thread talking about this.
It explain every apps you can remove.

[Q] Rooting & ICS ?

Just got an xperia mini and have some questions about rooting & Ice Cream Sandwich....
I want to root it to uninstall space taking apps, not much of tinkerer apart from that.
If I root it now, will that mean I'm not able to update to ICS when its made available?
Will I need to unroot? (if so how do I do that?)
Or am I just better off waiting for ICS, and then rooting? If so what are the chances ICS will be rootable?
thanks in advance!
I didn't cared about ICS updated,i just rooted my Mini PRO to remove apps
and i felt that after rooting my mobile became more powerful
Try it at your own risk
You may use doomloards help for rooting, search the forum here on xda
And i don't think unrooting will help you to recover your warranty
as after rooting you wont be able to keep your mobile under warranty and auto updates will no longer work
I used ftf packeges to update my Mini Pro,you may try that if you want to update your Xperia Mini

you can go ahead and root your device, doomlords has now a rooting technique that will allow you to root your device without unlocking the bootloader plus you can get official updates and you can reload any official firmware for your device.
Unlocking bootloader will void your warranty bur you can install a custom firmware/rom just like Cyanogen Mod.
Basically rooting will just add a super user account on your device, but still you can enjoy getting official updates from SE.
I have WT19i (SE Live with Walkman) rooted but boot loader locked.

[Q] Sony Xperia X10a Android re-installation

My xperia X10a has slowed down tremendously and giving lots of trouble for the last few months and I wish to re-install the android 2.3.
I had rooted the phone myself after reading threads here. I have also read here that the stock version isn't really that good so I was thinking of re-installing the sony version.
1. Would Sony allow re-installing android on a rooted phone?
2. If Yes, would I have to root the phone again after installation to remove the Sony crapware? (That would be a max pain as it took hrs the first time to figure out and I didn't make any notes)
Yes and yes.

[Q] Xperia U: How do I get back to GB and STAY THERE?

Hello folks,
Here's what I'm trying to achieve. My two Us are Middle East devices with the SI numbers 1261-8745 (white) and 1261-8746 (black.) As some of you may well know, there was (and still isn't) no "official" ICS upgrade for Mideast-sold U's, so I had to flash ICS manually. I tried several versions of ICS, including Generic_World, but all I got was lag, lag and more lag! Sometimes the problem was so severe that the devices were almost unusable, what with having to reboot several times a day. I mean, heck, my old Xperia Rays, with their inferior hardware, perform much better with their "officially" obtained ICS upgrades - so much so that sometimes I find myself picking them up in the morning and leaving my U's at home!
So, I realized I was much better off with the stock GB that originally was on the devices. Now, I don't have the exact original FTF/kernel that came out of the box, but I'm figuring I should be fine with Generic_World or something similar. Problem is, each time I flash GB (2.3.7), it tells me that an update to ICS is available - which it never did when my phone was still on its original GB, not even through PC Companion. So, what I want is exactly this: to reflash GB and NOT to be notified of the ICS upgrade.
Now, I might have got this all wrong, but from what I've gathered so far, I figured that after flashing the GB rom, I can achieve this by editing the build.prop file and changing the SI numbers to the ones I mentioned above - which should prevent GB from notifying me of the ICS upgrade. Am I correct? Or am I missing something? Please let me know.
Best regards,
Shady
What you can do is that, root your Xperia with the GB f/w and then download an application that is capable of freezing system apps.. Freeze the 'update centre' app and it will not show any notification regarding the update..
Or download any root explorer and delete the same app!

Thanks, but what if I want to do it the hard way? Is there a way to get the phones back to the exact same stock GB that came on them out of the box (i.e. the one for the Middle East) without knowing what that exact version was? Is there a way to "modify" a Generic_World rom to turn it into that?
I also have two other brand new, unmolested U's that are still in lying in their boxes. Is there a way for me to "port" their stock roms into the older ones?
