(Solved) How to get the home screen dock horizontal in landscape? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Title basically says it all. I have ADW EX and can't seem to find the setting (if there even is one).
I keep my phone in landscape mode as much as possible and want the extra dock real estate. Did a search in the forums and found nothing
Any suggestions on other launchers that have the setting if ADW doesn't? Thanks
EDIT: After digging around some more, VTL launcher solves my problem and then some! Awesome launcher

OK guys I just want your opoinion on witch is better, the vibrant stock launcher? Or helix? But please keep in mind I'd be using android 2.1 twlauncher. So make your choice

I've never used helix, but I'm one of the few that likes touchwiz quite alot
I use ADW on my mytouch3g and touchwiz on my vibrant, though I will say that I purchased the paid version of launcher pro as well and I generaly recomend launcher pro to new users as it is very simple to use.
i also love touchwiz but the devs doesn't support it.

Well I was going to try it out but I didn't see it as an option on the market. I'm running Froyo for what it's worth.
There is no perfect launcher imo, I would like launcher pro's home screen functionality with TW's horizontal tray. ADW doesn't cut it.

ADW actually has more homescreen options than launcher pro (it just doesent have the widgets that the paid version of LP has) and it has the horizontal drawer as an option, if thats what you wanted. you can also find equivilent widgets on the market to those of LP. the only features I've found that LP has that ADW does not is the ability to change the dockbar image and the 3d app drawer.
The newsest version of ADW is really pretty nice
although I will say that ADW is meant to be tweaked and customized, it has tons of options to play with, where Launcher Pro is set up pretty nicely as it is.
Show me how to have a scrolling dockbar, and use your own images in the dockbar of adw in the settings. Not to mention showing adw run as smooth as lp.

Launcher Pro is definitely the most functional and customizable launcher out right now...and it's going to get even better when the new code is finished.

New code?

The dev is rewriting all the code to clean it up and make it more efficient for better performance...supposed to be done in January.

That's why i don't use the ADW. It looks nice if you know how to customize, unfortunately i don't.

It would be perfect if he just added the horizontal tray as an option. I love options...
Tw vs Helix = i pick Tw
i personally use launcherpro.. but i still keep the TWlauncher as an option to switch back to from time to time

[Q] HTC Widgets /w a Different Launcher.

Hope this is a good place to ask this.
Ok I Love the HTC Widgets and Framework.. But I absolutely hate the Launcher it has.
Is there anyway to keep the HTC Framework but have a Different Launcher for it. Id love to use Launcher PRO or Zeam. Either one or something similar.
apparently this is an extremely difficult task and to my knowledge nobody has been able to do this on any phone ever. so chances are no. I would love to use zeam too but i think we are stuck with what we have.
This has been asked too many times. Answer no. replacement launcher pro paid version.

Its possible, you have to remove ever applications dependace on HTC.resources.apk and make every application individual on its own instead of depending on another framework... This way it would show up on every launcher but... Too much work for something so little

I think by "launcher" the OP means the "home" or desktop. IE he wants HTC Sense, but with say the bottom 5 icon setup that Go Launcher, LP, or ADW use, and maybe the ability to change the grid.
Thanks for the information. I was wondering this myself.

Fancy widget pro has the clock widget. The only difference is that it doesn't flip. It's one of the custom skins.

Tablet-friendly launcher

While I have a license for LauncherProPlus, it shows that it's not a launcher built for tablets. Neither are the most well-known ones like ADW or GO Launcher. Is there any good Launcher thought up for tablets? I only found anTab in the market, and though it does seem interesting (and no, it's not because of the wallpapers ), I'm reluctant to pay 5 euro for a launcher which can only be used in portrait mode.
looks like the 1.6 laucher and only portrait yuk!!
i use adw plus so you can customise it alot and with some good widgets you can make it work well. i like coulourize beause their big and scrollable and just work well on the big screen!
im using ADW Launcher EX, with the Gingerbread Blue Theme.
Very nice launcher! Smooth and so on.
And you can set it to landscape only.
Hey Guys I just posted up my new Tablet oriented launcher project over in the G-Tablet forums. Check it out! it might be what you are looking for. Should work great on the VEGA!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1017451
It shows a lot of promise indeed, i've just installed it and it looks great. Looking forward for updates!
I love this.... using it for a day or 2 but no launcher is replacing this.
- is ther still room for an option in a way to keep it as fast as it is.
Your own custom icons ( like rocketdock ) no i.m not an apple lover i would have bought an ipad but i love to make it my own personal thingy.. lol
If it cant be done no problem i will love it anyway.
thank for making this.

ICS specific launchers

There are 2 launchers in the works for ICS and both of them work on our tablets! You can check them out at the following links...
Nova Launcher
Trebuchet (CM9) Launcher
If anyone knows of any others, post them here.
Has anyone tried using ADW EX with ICS? I just got ADW set up to my liking the other day, and I would really like to be able to keep things laid out the way they are now.

I have it running on mine, everything is the same except I was using Wizz widgets facebook app on my home page and it was no longer scrollable. Not an adw issue but that is the only thing I've noticed that's "different".
I use wizz on stock ICS launcher and can still scroll in twitter and Facebook.

ADW EX works fine but puts an ugly blue line across the top of the screen.
I tried going to ADW EX after ICS update, but all Google widgets no longer scroll which is a dealbreaker for me. I sent an email to the developer for a fix.

what option do I hide to get rid of it?
Yeah I have teh same problem. Hopefully will be fixed in an update
You can hide all the top options by:
- long pressing on the screen
-Then click launcher actions
-Find hide status bar ( I think it's what it's called)
-it'll put a shortcut on the screen, click that
Now the top bar should be gone

ICS Launchers?

Does anyone know if there are any launchers to replace stock? I use NOVA on my ICS Nexus phone, I was curious if there was anything like that
Stock ICS laucher is fine; I personally am using ADW Launcher Ex.

Nova works on the Prime and there is another called Trebuchet (launcher from CM9) which also works.

Another vote for ADW Launcher Ex. It's just plain awesome
i used adw ex on HC almost exclusively, but for some reason or another have been quite satisfied with the stock launcher on ICS.
but adw works, go launcher ex (should) work, as well as the CM9 launcher.
+1 for adw ex

Do scrollable widgets work for you guys on ADWLauncher ex?
They don't work for me (agenda widget+, bookmarks widget) making it a showstopper. Will give Go launcher a try as well... Scrollable widgets work fine on the stock launcher btw.
*Edit*
Go Launcher seems to work fine
The inky scrollable widget that I've tried is the ASUS task manager widget, which doesn't scroll on ADW Launcher Ex.

+1 ADW
Stock launcher is good but I only want two desktop pages and nothing more. Just one of the many customizations I must have.
Adw EX is always very buggy for me. Is this not the case for any of you?
The only way adw is buggy for me is that i cannot scroll in widgets, as described earlier. And that is more annoying than i thought it would be..
Comtemplating on going with the stock launcher now..
Go Launcher for both phone and tablet here.

Yes that is the only bug I've experienced, which I don't mind because neither of the widgets I use have scrolling.
Tried ADW but prefer Go Launcher. More options and I fell it just looks better.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Launcher Pro? I've been using that. I don't mind the stock launcher really, except for the "google" on the top and the microphone. If I could get that off the screen then I'd actually probably use stock.
Nice thing about Launcher Pro is the re sizing of widgets. That comes in handy.
I find the stock launcher to be pretty good and does not need to be replaced. Unless If I were to replace it would probably be for ADW also.
I like the app drawer in the stock better.

ADW does not work well... I think
Go launcher offers many choices and especially better alignment of the icons

I used a handful of different launchers, and ultimately liked ADW EX the best on HC. For ICS, though, I've actually been happy enough with stock. I miss the swipe gestures when using stock, but the stock launcher seems like the fastest and prettiest so far, for me anyway.
If you need the extra options though, I'd say go with ADW EX.

I really like Go Launcher, but it was actually kinda glitchy for me on ICS, and I found that the lack of dock options made it somewhat unpleasant on a tablet. Did I miss something, or is there a way to disable the dock entirely?
