Hey, I know this is not correct place for Xperia X10 issue's, but i need to display it in general section, as this one is getting critical..
I uploaded a custom rom on my xperia x10, for that i unlockd the bootloader and stuff..
Now, my phone is switched off since 15 days, when ever i try to switch it on, it vibrates once and nothing at all afterwards...if i press power button again, it won't vibrate, unless and untill i remove the battery and reinsert it in phone..
i see three red flashes of light, when connected to PC..
1. PC Companion for update, repair and custom repair is not working...most of the time phone is not detected..
2. SE-update service is also not working and phone is shown as Xperia arc..
3. Flashtool, doesn't recognize the handset
4. few, technician told me box flash would work, but again, it didn't work out
Now, i don't know much about this, but i do understand that hardware seems to be good, till now, the only issue is software and that to initial boot process i.e. bootloader.
is there any other way i can upload a new custom rom on my xperia ??
or any other solution, will be appreciated..
I'm assuming download mode didn't work? Pull battery and insert cord/battery/press back button at same time while aytempting to flash through flashtools?
I have tried flash tools with this method, but doesn't helps..
I don't know about download mode, is it the same done through PC companion..
Thanks

Hi all,
I have a RACHAEL XPeria X10
Type: AAD-3880056-BV CB5
Prototype build: AP1
SI 1228-3677.1K
Last firmware update through the device update app was stuck and afterwards the device wont boot anymore.
I would have tried Flashtool as suggested around here but i can't seem to get into flash mode.
No, i'm not a moron, i tried both the "shut down, press back while connecting USB" and "take out battery, connect USB and press back while placing battery" (exactly as shown on youtube when searching "xperia x10 flash"), but none worked.
I also tried this with all the other existing buttons, but nothing worked!!!
All it does is blink the red light under the USB after connecting it.
Also, when trying to turn on device, the red light triple blinks repeatedly.
Is there any other method (or does prototype device behave differently) that i can put the phone into flash mode?
Is there any other alternative to flashing the device?
Thanks
Same problem
Can anyone help us? i have the same problem, please.
Have you tried PC Companion?
If so then...
Try sony ericsson update service...
http://sony-ericsson-update-service.en.uptodown.com/
If that fails then try wotanserver's flashtool. It free but youve gotta sign up.
http://www.wotanserver.com/en/.
All of these options will take you back to stock and you can start fresh from there.
Good luck
If your phone flashing red lights that suggests the battery dead is it definitely charged?
Edit: prototype phone bit beyond me but will methods of flashing it be the same I'm not sure.
Sent from my X10S using XDA
use charged battery and you need flash with:
FlashTool_0.2.9.1-GBready_root_xRec
and
X10i_3.0.1.G.0.75_GLOBAL-GGL_GENERIC_1232-9897.ftf
vith new FlashTool dont work
Hello.
I have a problem. Shortly:
I've installed a new rom, aAn's CM7mod, i think the v2.2, because i couldn't get the tethering work with the other rom. Okay, CWM recovery, install, reboot.. Then for one week was stuck at Sony Ericsson logo, i tried to take out the battery even for 2 days, everything, but still stucked.
Now i tried the flashtool, disconnect the phone, take out the battery, then put it back, press back button, connect usb, green led appears, 5 secs and the phone starts, exits the flashmod. So i cannot get into the flash mode, to make a recovery.
Pls give me advice. Thanks.

no, i didn't... how were you thinking of making a recovery in flashtool then?
well, this would be my question. what can I do? cannot get in the flashmod more than 4-5 seconds, because the phone is starting, and getting stucked at SE logo.

Do you have the kernel you need for the ROM you flashed?
Anyway, if you start up PC Companion or SEUS with the phone disconnected and choose update, it will give you a repair option. choose that, select your phone-model, it will download the firmware for it and ask you to connect your phone flashmode. It doesn't need flashmode for very long, it will connect within a couple of seconds. once the popup-dialog disappears jsut leave your phone alone and you will be back on stock firmware.
Thanks will try that, than im comeing with the news..

You can try to enter flashmode by pressing HOME and POWER button at the same time, that will give it a hard reboot. As soon as the screen goes black (backlight off too), press the back-button. Do this with the usb-cable already attached to your phone and your pc. Ofcourse you do this only when flashtool or SEUS/PC Companion show you the popup to connect your phone in flashmode.
I had the same problem with my E10i, and that home+power than back b. combo helped! :good:
My cell was stucked on bootlogo, but in E10i (X10mini) you couln't pull out the battery just like that, so if you whant to SEUS repair your phone, you must have the phone turned of completly, but i couldn't do that. So i start SEUS whait till i get to the point when he whant your phone connected, then i press home+power button, managed somehow to plug in USB c. than press the back button and releas the home+power buttons. The rest is history...seus recognize the phone...download the files...and repair my phone.
Good luck mate! Try it! :fingers-crossed:
Okay, i've made it.
Shortly, the 1rst problem was the windows 8, ive reinstalld the 7th and SEUS on it, then easily selected the phonetype from the list, than holding back button, than connecting the cable, easy light clean install and thats it.
Thanks guys.
When I turn on my Xperia Mini, I first see the sony logo and then I see the xperia logo and then the screen turns off. The phone automatically starts again with the sony logo, xperia logo and so on.
I have tried starting the phone in safe mode by holding down the volume key or by repeatedly pressing the menu button but both of them do not work. I have also tried to "repair" the phone via the PC Companion but it detects the phone only momentarily(as it switches on).
This problem started soon after I had switched on the bluetooth radio on my phone.
My phone is running on Android 4.0.4
This problem did occur in the past but I was able to open the safe mode then and a factory reset solved the problem at that time.No such luck now.
How can I hard reset the phone without reaching the menu??
Or is there any other way to solve this problem??
Please help.

Have you tried to install a custom rom or have you got any idea why this is happening?
Do you know how to flash with flashtool? If not look in my signature there is a rooting guide. In the rooting guide on how to root gingerbread 4.0.2.A.0.62/69 you can see how to flash with flashtool and after that, if you want, root it.
If your phone wasn't rooted and your bootloader is locked and you haven't installed any app which could cause this problem, bring phone to service, but only if this could be hardware related and you haven't modified anything
Oh my science! You've been here since 2009 and this is your first post!?!?
Don't worry Your kernel is clean the problem is with the Rom.
Just flash the stock firmware ftf for your phone using flashtool and it'll be brand new again!
This will be useful
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568792
There are numerous tutorials about flashing ftf through flashtool just google it (the above link will be also useful).
Flashtool can be used with locked bootloader . You can use it on a out of box phone right away.

I have experienced the same problem with my Xperia mini pro (SK17i). Just try to switch off Bluetooth before it restart. May be it will work on your device too.
Is it possible that bluetooth problem is an issue on android 4.0 ICS?

I too faced the same problem in my ST15i....Bluetooth works fine for a few times and after that suddenly it creates bootloop. When for the first time i went to the service center he told me that the ICS release is having a bug and it is not completely compatible.
I have also tried many custom roms with my bootloader locked. But the problem is same.
I feel that the problem is with the stock kernel and stock ICS rom compatibility.
Devs, please look into this and please develop a perfect solution. :good::fingers-crossed:
phone not starting up

xperia mini ICS latest firmware---http://www.4shared.com/rar/29kaVZ1E/Xperia_Mini_ST15i_41B0587.html
Today i tried to flash my x10 mini using flashtool and this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1256739&highlight=custom+gingerbread+kernel and now my phone is dead, and when i say dead i mean completely dead (cannot even connect in flashmode). Note: this is not the first time i flashed my x10 mini and i never had this problem!
How did i do this? Well, i dont know what i did wrong, i followed the steps as i always do;
-downloaded the latest flashtool
-installed the drivers, both for flashtool and for x10 mini
-downloaded ftf file for the kernel and placed it in the /firmware directory
-entered the flashmode and flashed my phone (everything was working fine and i read the output provided by flashtool, everything seemed to be fine, no errors)
-then i disconnected my phone, and now it's dead.
I tried:
to disconnect the battery
to charge it for a while (i don't know why, but someone said it might help)
connect in flashtool (yes i hold the back button while connecting my phone and did everything as i did before - the only difference is that the green LED doesn't light up! it's dead)
hold power and home button for a while - nothing happened
Anyone else has any idea? I tried everything that i could think of, my phone doesn't respond - no vibrate, no LED, nothing.
Since i tried to install MIUI, but didn't got to that part - my phone has now probably a broken kernel and no ROM whatsoever. I cannot re-flash the kernel because the flashmode doesn't work.
So, any idea?
(oh yeah, i realize that there are some threads with this question - but no real answer, either the OP didn't provide enough info, or the answer is to re-flash the kernel, so i decided to make a new thread)
1 - Maybe you forgot to unlock the bootloader.
2 - Maybe you forgot to install a Custom Rom after you flashed the kernel. The original android version that comes with the phone doesn't work on custom kernels.
3 - If the problem is not one of these 2, then use the Sony Update Service, download it, then you just have to select your model on the program and it will tell you to press the Back Button on the phone and then connect it with usb (still holding the back button), this will bring the phone to it's original state (Stock Android) and back to life.
If i helped press thanks

1. I unlocked bootloader a year ago, unless the bootloader re-locked himself that is not the problem. I said it is not the first time i done it.
2. I didn't install any custom ROM, because the second i plugged my phone out of my laptop (after the flashing was finished) it was dead. No chance to power it on, no chance to enter the flashmode again.
3. I cannot enter the flashmode, if i hold the back button on my phone while inserting the usb cable in - NOTHING happens.
My phone is probably hard bricked. Good thing my warranty expired 1 month ago :S.

If your phone doesn't charge in any way (cable or usb) and doesn't complete the Stock Android Instalation by the Sony Ericksson Update Service then it really is hardware problem that can only be solved by Sony Ericksson :S, the problem is that they will see that the kernel is changed or modified and you gotta pay a lot of money for repairing, so probably a new phone is the best way out if the phone really is dead :S, unless of course you lie to them and they don't figure it out.
Did you install all the necessary drivers? like, installing Pc Companion (will install drivers) from sony ericksson?

Thnx for ur reply, as u must have noticed I tried to flash it using the s1 tool in emergency boot mode but it was always giving error n pic companion isn't detecting the phone cause it's not going in recovery mode using the given buttons. Is there any other tool I can flash my hard bricked device with to start it , if yes please do send me the link as I have tried to search every where with no luck, n the Xda forum is the best place to do so , if I can't find a solution here then I guess there is little or no hope elsewhere

I tried it but the the flashtool is not detecting the device..... im still stuck where i was before... Anyone who has a better soln then above plzz let me knw.....
It definitely sounds like a hard brick, especially as you don't have the flashing Red LED (which is the indicator of bootloader conflict).
It would seem that you will need the services of someone who can use a JTAG cable to get your phone back to life.
Out of curiosity, what was the file name of the ROM that you were trying to flash?

its not hard bricked... the phone vibrates indicating power to the device. It can't boot the kernel.
OP has to install the actual drivers to the phone in order to get the phone to be discovered in flashtool.
Install file is located in C:\flashtool\drivers\blablabla.exe
The solution is here,
First of all find and save .ftf Official ROM for your country or International version
Plug in your USB cable to PC ( Drivers for ZU must be installed in System).
Press down volume button and connect ZU with USB cable.
Open FLASH TOOL and after clicking on flashmode find the ( OEM ) original .ftf ROM and press down flash.
After successful completion process power ON your device by pressing Power Button.
Enjoy
