Hello
I have been looking around on the net, for a android tv setup. There are some tempting devices from China. I found a couple on Dealextreme and amazon uk, with cortex a9 processor. Does anyone have any experience with these devices.
I want to use it for video playback (replacing ac ryan) and running emulators. I would also like to know if i would be able to use it with a bluetooth dongle, since none of them have bluetooth build in.
Thanks
Hi,
Got the same idea. I've just bought a nice 1080 LED TV and would like to find a nice TV box to reproduce my media.
I was thinking to buy the HTC media link DG H100, which is now at a nice price of 49 Euros, but found a few Android 2.3/4.0 TV boxes at Ebay (50 to 100 Euros) and was thinking if they would actually work.
I would like to know if they actually reproduce internet videos at a decent speed.
I may try and see...

Curious if anyone has used this technology...I want to try it out on my Atrix 4g but the pico projector I have doesn't have an HDMI port
The pico projector I bought for work to use with a laptop for presentations goes well with all sorts of other tech the model I have currently doesn't do HDMI but I know there is a model that does.
My Model is the AAXA P4 Pico Projector <<(noob so I can't link but you can find them on Amazon for fairly cheap)
I've seen some videos of people online strapping the projectors to their iphones and using it as an augmented reality game kind of thing. My first thought was to see if anyone has been able to use this technology with apps and such with their Android phones that have HDMI...as like I said the model pico projector P4 by AAXA didn't have the appropriate port, although I could scan my phone like a USB drive.
The Pico Projector I picked up can be found at amazon for fairly cheap. And the HDMI model is actually comparably priced better and can also be found at Amazon for a ridiculously low price: AAXA p3 Pico Projector. (<<< noob so no link again)
Anyways my biggest interest is to see if my PSroms can run and project off my phone...that would just be too good to be true.
Let me know what you guys think.
Pretty much I am looking to see if it'll mirror the home screen if plugged in. If you're not sure what I am talking about AAXA has a unit that has HDMI out so I'm wondering it it'll work, let me know thx.
well im sure there are a billion of these threads but heres mine because im special :3; so pretty much i want one of these to play games/emulators so it needs to be fast (dual or quad core higher than 1.2ghz)and occasionally watch Netflix (i have a chromecast for that though) but it obviously has to have wifi, and i would really want Bluetooth with it so i can hook up my controller to it. i dont know if ram is important you guys would have to tell me if what would be the best, im not interested in putting a custom rom in it probably just rooting it. as for controlling it i sill do not understand how to control it, i see that some come with remote controllers but how would you know which one comes with one. i was thinking this one but not sure
http://www.amazon.com/Tronsmart-CX-...qid=1388629673&sr=8-15&keywords=android+stick oh and it has to be on amazon because that is where all my money is at lol, i only got 100 bucks so i would rather not spend a little more than that. oh and i see there are some sticks that are 720p and 1080p so im not sure which i would like would the 720p be like what i stream on my tablet when im watching netflix?
anyone? im now looking at the minix series, i see that stick forms overheart so minix neo G4 looks like its out of the picture, the minix neo x5 looks awesome and the specs are perfect but i still dont know if 1gig of ram is enough, the price is right around my alley and the minix neo x7 looks great too with that upgrade to 2gigs of ram but a little over the price i wanted to spend, also i see there are mini versions of these two devices, is there a difference? or is it smaller.

I purchased one of the stick systems a year ago and wasn't really impressed with it. the WiFi is bad and the whole thing seems flaky. In fact i was just here looking for a custom rom for it. I am looking at getting a slightly larger on with ethernet plug and multiple usb ports
(A10-A20WS Andriod 4.2.2os Dual Core 1080P HD Smart TV Box 1GB DRR3+4GB Nand Flash Streaming Media Player Android TV Player White )
also on amazon. The little one only had 1 usb port so i could only have a keyboard mouse combo or one or the other. I am also partial to being wired since i have multiple laptops, phones and tablets already on my Wifi.
Good Luck with whatever you pick

2. Have u seen a great deal for a good known company(eveb if a well know chinese one)?
Thanks for your time!
The MXIII 2GB model is meant to be pretty well reviewed. There is an analysis and discount atm that lets you get it for $71.99 here ($13 off): http://hometheatrelife.com/mxiii-m82-android-tv-box-amlogic-s802-impressions/
It uses a quad-core Amlogic S802 chipset with octo-core graphics. Wifi is dual band wireless AC. Should play pretty much everything except H.265 content although it does do 4K H.264.

Thanks for your answer!
Meanwhile, i thinking if ti take the Amazon FireTV or the Cubox.
My needs are especially using the Internet from the TV in the saloon.
I woukd say 60-70% for browsering internet.
30%-40 for media center.
What would suite me the best?
Thanks !

I'd probably go either the Fire TV or one of the Android boxes
If i can get the Fire on 70+ it the hest choise or there's a better option in that price range?
What is the best to chose if i need it to stream my pc to the tv in saloon+dvb-t?
Tnx!
Adding in DVB-T makes things much more complicated. I tend to centralise my TV streaming using a server so that's outside of my expertise. The other thing that may be of importance is if you don't live in the US, the Fire TV may not be that useful if you want to use some of the Amazon services
Thanks fir all the info!
Regarding that i'll use it outside u.s:
Read that there are tut's fir hiow to make the Store recognizes as a Nexus, so it possible to access it out of u.s..
Also for the time zone too.
So ther aint a solution for DVB-T ...
Thanks !
Hello there.
About a month or so ago I saw an ad in the Canadian Tire flyer for a new media player for $99 on sale. Now of course I can't share a link just yet, at least not for another 8 more posts. But if you search Canadian Tire website, you can find it.
The purpose of this post is to see if anyone has tried this. It's got some pretty good stats. Plus the fact it has a one year exchange warranty and it's Canadian Tire, so if anything goes wrong with it within 365 days, you bring it back and get a new one. No questions asked. That's very appealing. So... has anyone tried this yet? Here are the stats.

What do you mean by this question? Can you add external storage? If that is indeed your question, then yes. I have a 1TB WD drive hooked up to it and watch "stuff" that way.
I mean to use as internal storage not removalable. Iv tried to get this to work to day but I can only get it to setup as a removable USB. Also this box comes pre rooted so do I need to download SuperSU app? Will that help to get things working proper?
I need help as confused with which one to buy, my budget is 50 to 70 dollars,
Requirement is mainly channels viewing (no games required) especially sports channels.

Both of the above around 70 dollars each
Ahh, now we see the difference
You ask for an ANDROID TV but in fact you are looking for an Android TV BOX - big difference!
In case I got this right:
IMHO there is little to no difference between the various boxes.
Comes down to what the firmware can provide as the hardware is next to identical.
Sure, a new DDR4 box will load much faster and might be a better choise for gaming...
But for watching videos it matters more what TV you have and what you do with it.
For 4K content and DRM stuff you should check first if the box really supports it.
4K in Youtube and Netflix usually only works if Android TV is installed but won't always work in 4k on a normal box.
And of course if you need Bluetooth (game controller, phone pairing...) then you should look for those having BT4 and dual WiFi.
I have the X96 that I only got because I saw little support for it and wanted to try some modding on my own.
Quite happy with it but it has no BT.
Got the Yundoo Y8 a few days ago and although it is fast and has BT I am not really impressed by it.
There is no DRM support that is worth to mention, not even Widewine.
3D gaming performance is, for what I can see, neither better nor much faster than on the S905X.
I suggest to check what you really need in hardware, then check which boxes in that field are supported by the modding community.
Beelink, Mecool, VIM, just to name a few.
Android Nougat is overrated IMHO too.
So far no manufacturer produced a Marshmallow rom that had no annoying flaws, even if it is just the messed up keyboard support.
Android7 brings more problems for the modding and so far only half cooked solutions are hitting the market
Unless you love to tinker with firmware a lot I suggest to stick to Android6 for now.
Beelink GT1 Ultimate !!!
Just ordered to my nephew from AliExpress. The Price is below 60$ and the Beelink firm is well known.
It has 3G RAM and Memory of 32G. The processor is Amlogic S912 Octa Core CPU DDR4. In other words it's a beast for that price.
Enjoy,
