Guys, I had installed GoSMS and uninstalled it after sometime. After that while accessing my messages, whenever I press the back key (the one beside the button ) it refuses to take me back to the main screen. but the key works well with everything else. I tried clearing defaults , cache of messages, but to no avail. Please help!
Backup data and factory reset .

The solutions are so easy aren't they JJ.... yet they still want everyone to perform miracles and spoon feed them...
Have you thought about reinstalling GO SMS and seeing if the back key will start to act right again?

A major problem has developed with my qtek. All the programs have disappeared. When I press start I am greeted with a completely blank page.
All the shortcuts on the mian screen are invalid and I can't run anything.
The phone is still funtional and I can access my contacts and calendar information but I can't sync it because it looks as though activesync is missing.
I have tried a soft reset (battery out) but the problem persists
I even tried a hard reset using the power on soft key method but this didn't actually go into the hard reset screen. It looks as though the rom is corrupt - has anyone had an experience of this?
I am now getting device low on memory messages all the time but can't even attempt to remove anything as I can't access any programs - please help!!
Please read the other thread where you asked what buttons the softkeys were.
Hardresetting will probably work, or installing the latest rom from your distributer might also work, but try the hardreset first.
That is what I thought - altough hard reset does not work and all the programs are missing including activesync so I can't put a new rom on it either!
Hi,
Have checked to see if this has been mentioned, but not found anything.
A week ago I installed ICS via Kies (LP7 XEU), all has been fine until this morning when I powered up the phone. I get a message saying "Unfortunetly Twlauncher has stopped" ! only option is OK, and that's it. I press this then get a black screen, and then my wallpaper. If I then press the middle button, a few seconds later I get the same message! Basically I can't do anything with the phone. Settings button gives the same message too. All I can do is hold down power button to give me power down, reboot etc... I've removed battery, etc... still no luck. I don't want to go down the delete data, factory reset route if I can help it , any idea's ?
Thanks

First of all, there's a Q&A section.
Go to Settings->Applications-> Manage-> All -> find twlauncher -> clear data and reboot. See if it helped.
Thanks, I'll have a look at the Q&A. Problem is I can't even get access to the Settings menu on the phone as this causes the Twlauncher has stopped message too
I've had the same problem. I tried to clean dalvik and cache in CWM but it didn't work. So I flashed an official ICS rom. But you could install a launcher remotely from
https://play.google.com/
And then install it on your phone, backup everything, and then flash a rom
Hi,
when I reset my Optimus One with VolDown, Power + Home something got messed up and I received a phone where the desktop is not starting any longer.
After the above reset the setup screen appears where I can choose my language etc, but at the last step I get a force close message for the Setup Wizard every single time. When I then force close, the screen goes dark except for the status bar on the top.
After a while the phone autolocks and I can see the lock screen with moving grass and time etc. When I unlock, again the black screen with only the status bar on top.
The phone receives SMS messages and calls and shows the appropriate screen, just no desktop to choose any apps to start. I can even long press home and then get the recent apps screen with no apps to start.
Can someone help me to get my phone functional again?
Thanks.
Binser
seems like problem with your launcher app. use adb push command to push new launcher in your phone.
no debug

Yes that would be a good idea if I could enable USB debug. But I cannot get to the settings where I could enable USB debug, therefore ADB push is not a possible option for me.
u can log into your google account on desktop and install any launcher app from playstore , it will automatically get installed on your cell if your data is on.

Thanks again for ur input: But the VolDown Menu Power thing did a complete reset and therefore the phone is completely virgin, i.e. no google account is set-up.
While during initial boot the setup wizard comes up, I get the error message:
"The application Setup Wizard (process.com.android.setupwizard) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
So I cannot setup a google account for this phone.
u may be able to go to contacts screen while on call. there u will have an option to add google account. try this n if this doesn't work try resetting your phone again.
Thank you! That did it! I called myself with another phone and during the call via the menu button I was able to go into the account section and add an account. Then the play store updated (some time is needed for registration to take hold on the play store web site) and then I installed the Go launcher via web install.
After I got access to the launcher, I immediately activated USB debugging in Settings > Application Settings > Development and also install from unknnown sources in Application Settings.
I wrote these details so that people with the same problem of corrupted launcher or setup wizard know what to do.
BTW before I tried numerous phone resets but none solved the problem.
Now I still have the following problem: To root a reset is suggested to have a clean file system. A reset however again gives me the above problem. How can I break that vicious cycle?
Again, thanks a million for your help.

No need of reset or so, just root and install clockworkmod recovery via ROM manager app, choose optimus 1 old baseband even if u r on new coz the recovery for old baseband is much more stable.
NOTE:-
do not choose to boot into recovery from ROM manager,u might end up at emergency mode. instead use the key combo to enter into recovery.
don't choose to factory reset from phone menu once u have installed custom recovery, instead do that from recovery.
Thanks, hephappy's ICS CM9 is running well now.
There is only one problem, possibly because I did not get your advice about old baseband in time: Cannot make or receive calls/texts, but I am being asked for SIM PIN and the phone shows the carrier ID in notifications.
My phone has the 20d baseband - is that the problem? Do I need to upgrade to 20g or would that not matter?
Regards,
Binser
OK, I flashed the 20G baseband and the problems are now history. I can make an receive calls.
There was a problem when flashing: The phone did not reboot into recovery mode. I had to do that manually and disable the LG modem. Then when the process was done I the phone showed 20G baseband, but no IMEI and network. I solved that by using the saved NV2 file in a subdirectory of the LGMDP.exe and the NV Restore button on the program icon bar.
Now everything is fine.
Again, thank you for your help.

To get rid of Popup dialogs try pressing search button, it works for me

Hello peeps,
I have a problem with the home key in S3. Single press does nothing i.e doesn't come to home screen. If i am not wrong it happened after some app updates. The key itself is working fine because holding it brings up the task manager. The launcher is Golauncher ex,changing launchers didn't fix it.
Anyone had it before? I am waiting to see if something can solve this before factory reset.
Could be a rom related option to customize hardware keys, I'd suggest going through rom settings. If you're running stock then I think the only solution is to factory reset your phone..
factory reset made it work and then after some app installation didnt work again. Back to a nandroid old version and no auto update app.
Anyone ever get the below? Notes: Phone was working fine ever since I got it. I got it close to when it came out. S9+ on Xfinity Mobile (Verizon). I run Nova Launcher. I haven't rebooted in a long time, so for some reason I decided to reboot. When I did so it says "Phone is starting.. optimizing app XX of 116". It finishes that and takes me to the below message. I've already tried step 1. No luck. I have not erased app data, but tried to get into safe mode using power and volume down button. That did not work.
I guess my only option is to try and Erase App Data?
Android Recovery
Your phone couldn't start normally. Some configuration data may be corrupt. Follow the instuctions below.
1. Try again Restart your phone. If your phone continues to be unable to start, go to the next step.
2. Erase app data Deleting app configuration data may allow your phone to start in Safe mode. Safe mode allows access to basic functions, so you can back up any important data stored on your phone. After backing up your data, a factory reset may be needed to get your phone to start normally.
3. Visit a service center If you don't want to erase your app data or your phone still doesn't start, visit a service center for assistance.
.. and on the very bottom says:
Reboot Recovery Cause is [system_server:8409 RecoverySystemRescueParty]#Support SINGLE-SKU
Block-Based OTA Supported API: 3
PS - The only thing I did today that was new was install a WWE Wrestling game, play it once, and uninstall it. Everything else was normal. Phone, text, notepad software, browse web, YouTube, etc.
So, I tried #2.. selected erase app data from the menu. Took a few seconds and rebooted. Did the "Phone is starting.. optimizing app XX of 116" again. Went right back to the Android Recovery screen.
This sucks because I NEED my phone for work. #1 - it's my alarm clock. #2 - they track when I log in and out and where I go with GPS. #3 - I call back to work during the day.
I can get into "Maintaince Boot Mode" and from there can try a Factory Reset which I am hoping I do not have to..
PSS - I tried to erase cache no luck. Tried to erase app data. No luck. Always comes backm to Android Recovery.
PSSS - Just did Vol Up + Bixby + Power. Went in to Wipe Data/Factory Reset. It's 12:45AM and I need to get to bed. I'm hoping this will at least fix it so I can wake up and get to work tomorrow.
So far it's doing something.. asked me a few questions.. I got past WiFi and it shut off. I didn't know I was low on power.
Sorry maybe I shouldn't have posted if I wasn't going to wait a bit (for an answer) before doing a factory reset. I paniced and factory reset.
Anyway, it's updating everything now. Then I can reinstall everything I need. I did lose all my phone number contacts.
