Amazon cloud player can't seem to log in - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Has anyone downloaded the Amazon Mp3 Cloud player app? If so, are you having issues logging in? There doesn't seem to be an actual log in button...you have your username, then password, then the "Enter" key is really just a "Next" key and I can't seem to actually log in.
The web UI for the amazon cloud player sucks...any advice?

For some reason I have it installed on the phone but when I try to open the app it keeps telling me "Application is not installed on your phone". When I first installed and opened it says change your language and keyboard to English. This is the AT&T Note not the international Note. So looks like Amazon or Samsung has to fix this.

Are your phones rooted? Amazon seems to detect root and not allow people to access content, at least when it comes to video. I wouldn't be surprised if they do the same with audio.

it happen to me, i couldn't log in the the amazon app store, do to i have onces to many device activate in one account. you make have to de-activate. try that see if it help.

In case anyone runs across this, I finally figured it out. On the sign-in "pop-up" you have to drag it up to see the Sign-In button!

[Q] Trouble Entering Passwords

Just opened my viewsonic Gtablet from Tigerdirect. Ran the OTA update and now running 3588, otherwise straight out of the box.
I am unable to log into any account using an app (mail, contacts, skype, tdameritrade, twitter apps). I am able to log in fine when I visit the website and login through the web.
Is there someplace I have to grant apps permissions to use the internet? Why can't I log in?
Thanks.
Just checking if anyone else had this problem. If not other responses, I'll let this thread die. Thanks for reading.

No. There is no special place to grant permissions to use the internet. Do you get any kind of error message? Force Close? Some indication of symptoms might help us diagnose the problem.
Get an app called Superuser. You will need to root the tab, as well. I think there's something like "oneclickroot" out there.
Honestly, grab a custom ROM, they all come with this standard.
Rooting shouldn't be necessary to make any of those apps work so I doubt that will help him.
Google login fails, 2 step verification is culprit
This may not solve your problem, but it knocked me for a loop for a whole evening with my new motorola defy this week.
You get a new android device, and everything looks so nice, but then you try to log in to your google account. Repeatedly. You keep getting an error that says the username or password are wrong, even though you can log in on your pc. OBVIOUSLY the password is fine, but it wont work on your new android device.
Well, if you turned on 2-part authentication then you have a problem. (If you have never heard of 2-part authentication then move on, you would have to have done this on purpose and it is way to painful to forget having done it.)
Android doesnt support 2-part authentication. So you have to generate a special password for your android device.
Start by logging in to gmail, or whatever google service you wish. Go to your account settings (the little gear-looking thing in the upper right.) Under Personal Settings, Security you'll see an entry called "Authorizing applications & sites". Go here and make an entry for your device, and it will generate a special password for that specific google application that doesnt happen to support 2-part authentication. Enter your super-secret password.
Suddenly the world is golden.
Probably not what the OPs problem was, but I wanted to put it SOMEWHERE.
grrrr....

Gmail Account Hijacked - including Google Play Store

Last week I noticed a device under my Google Play account (My Devices) that is not mine, a phone on a Romanian cell phone company network. I also noticed that someone from Russia had accessed my Gmail account. I changed my Gmail password (the old one was alpha-numerica,random, with symbols) and turned on two step authentication.
The Gmail account seems to be ok. The contacts all there and no messages removed or messages sent by people other than me.
The only sign of the intrusion is about a dozen "free" apps ordered by that device. It included sketchy gambling apps, a child's game that from comments I read has adult advertisements, and ringtones. After I changed the password there are new "free" media on the account - books and various video. These appear to be from a different user - all in English as opposed to Russian and nothing sketchy.
My guess on how this started - I downloaded an app with about 100 reviews. The next day the "free" apps started to appear, and the unauthorized device also was added the next day.
My SGS 3 isn't rooted. For Jellybean it seems that I have to wait for a stable root, should be another few days.
I contacted the Play Store support and they were of no help. They referred me to Gmail support but Gmail doesn't offer phone support. I think only support on a Google Group forum.
Any idea how this could have happened and how to get this device off of my account? My PC's are secure and my primary PC is Linux.

I have the IMEI # of the phone added to my account, also the model number (registered in Russian Federation). Could the IMEI be useful? I can PM if interested.
Imeis are quite useful to many people...Just don't pursue this on xda.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
My account too was almost hacked.
I signed into youtube and a notice was shown that someone from ip in china tried to log into my google account and it denied them and i changed my password. No weird apps nothing.
The thing is probably the app you downloaded.
Just because it has 100 downloads doesn't mean its malware but you need to check permissions always.
Even big games like "Paper Toss" has been know to sell peoples info to companies.
When you read permissions. There should be a list of all the options the app requests.
Be Smart. If you download a calculator, It shouldn't have access to your personal identy, messages and the big key is internet access.
If you download a calender it may need access to contacts but it it also needs internet access, its probably is storing your contacts and sending them out to a site that then sells to a company and lastly, your grandparents receive phone calls asking if they want to buy a service and use your name as who referred them.
Also. rooting is a good option. With an app on here called pdroid or droidwall you can download those apps but it will alert yyou when the app wants to use a permission (like internet) and gives you the option to allow or deny.
good luck
I have one update. I think that after I changed my password and went to two step verification, the purchases of "free" apps and media stopped. It's been four days and nothing new added. So far so good. Thanks for the replies. BTW, Google of no help.
I'd still like to know how the Gmail account was compromised - I may never know.
similar thing just happened to me (Galaxy Note) appeared on my account from no where. When I contacted google if they can help or if they are interested in tracking him down, all they said was we cant help you. And change the pw. Obviously I know that I need to change the pw. I know Apple would have tracked it down somehow if it was an iphone. My pw has 22 characters number letter symbols yet it was hacked.
Since google is not helping me I installed Android Lost app on this NOTE and waiting to get a location update via email. I know it wont do anything much and I cant do anything against him or her since no paid apps were downloaded. Still I would like to do something to crooks like this. He only had 6 apps installed (facebook, viber candy rush) and terminal emulator (which worried me).
I really hope that Android close their unlimited backdoors in the OS.

Which app for manage client?

Hi,
a friend of mine bought a few days ago a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" to manage his clients (he's a doctor).
He started to build his contact library (he doesn't have an android phone and no gmail contacts) adding name, surname, eventually mail and phone number and in the "Note" field he wrote all the note he'd taken. BUT this field has a characters' limit, and he can't add even a letter anymore (for the most visited client of course).
I tried to search for an app for this purpose but I can't find anything. I don't even search ONLY an app, it can be enough another method using the in-build feature of the tablet and android.
I searched for some CRM app, but most of them are ugly (since it's not a power user the more simple and clean is the better) and not optimized for a tablet. I found Insightly, but it's only online, and if he does'nt have a wifi network around he can't, not only record the new data, but also access to the old ones! They MUST be always available.
I thought about a simple folder + text file in G Drive, but these are only online too. Dropbox, too.
If it can interact with the G Mail contacts (the Note field is very useful at this) it would be wonderful, otherwise he'll build up his library with his contacts.
How can I do to have these data always on the tablet (cloud sync is not absolutely necessary)??? Any idea for an app or an alternative method?
Thanks!
nobody??
He bought a tablet to use for work, without any idea on how he would use it for work or if it would even do what he wanted? If he throws money around like that, why not recommend him to get an app written for his company and it's needs. There are many app developers who design and write custom apps for clients.

[Q] Need SIM to sign in to google account?

So, a few months ago, I tucked my Amaze 4G phone away b/c I got a new phone with a different carrier. I reset it too and so all my accounts were removed. I doubt I threw out my SIM card, but, it's not in my phone, I probably put it away somewhere.
I then read about how I can use my old phone as a GPS. I first had to root my phone.
So, I found this forum and I got to step 3 based on this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426377
I did get a successful message (I can't remember the message now, but, it seemed successful), but, what exactly does it do? Should I have an extra recovery file on my computer or phone? I don't see any new file created on my computer. So, I just want to make sure it worked properly before moving on.
At the same time, I tried logging into Google Play using the app, it doesn't work. It says username and password mismatch. I tried it using my browser and I can log in. Does it have to do with not having a sim card. Do I have to have a carrier to log into Google Play app. I tried adding the account in the the settings and it still says I can't log in. Any ideas. I tried countless times, it can't be a username / password mismatch. I tried it several times on the browser without a hitch. Why is that?
I'd like to install a gps app on my phone, but, I can't log into the Google Play app.

So you're connecting over wifi? The sign-in may not work from a phone until you've told the setup app to try again, then press settings before inputting username/password, and selecting browser log-in.
The browser will open on your phone, and you can sign-in that way. You most likely had 2-step authentication enabled, and the sign-in setup doesn't account for that, thus the browser. The second part of the verification will be whatever you've set up with google for the second step--be assured though that if it's a code texted to your phone, you can't receive it on an old gsm phone without a sim card--you'll have to receive it on the new phone, then input it into the field in the old phone.

I see, that worked. Thanks.
I guess I'll put my other question in a separate thread.

HM10 Pro, how do i change 'Drive PDF viewer' from being default?

Hi Members
I have to say I'm struggling with this phone, nothing seems straight forward.
The phones running Android 8 / EMUI 8, I did a mistake when clicking on a PDF doc in the Huawei 'Files' app, when the program pop-up appeared to choose the application to use, I clicked onto the 'Drive PDF viewer' and accidentally click onto the 'Always' button.
Now the "Drive PDF viewer' is the default app, and I can't make it go back to asking what app I want to use.
I've tried loads of things withing settings>Apps, I've cleared Google drives cache and reset, cleared Google Play services, and the Play store, reset the Chrome browser.
I can't find the app 'Drive PDF viewer', but I gather this is part of Google Drive app.
I've reset the Huawei 'Home' launcher, this didn't do anything.
I then went and installed Adobe Reader app, this still didn't give me the app prompt when clicking onto a PDF to pick the Adobe app.
I've reset this phone so many times now for so many issues, none of which has been resolved with a reset (also with my Huawei watch 2 Pro as it's had issues)
I've search the Web regarding a resolution, uninstalling the last update to Drive hasn't change the PDF default preference.
Can anyone shed any light on a solution please.

Just to follow up, I found no way within the settings > Apps on any of the relivant applications settings (Drive, Chrome, Play system apps), any changes I made to either the default actions attributes worked.
The only solution to getting 'Drive PDF viewer' to not be the default reader in the HM10 Pro Android 8/EMUI 8,
1, go to disable the Google 'Drive' app,
2, then open a PDF
3, pick Microsoft 'word' as the default reader
4, then open a PDF again to see that 'Word' opens
5, then go back to 'Enabling' Google 'Drive'
6, then uninstall Microsoft Word
7, Restart the phone and reinstall 'Word', and open Word app to start it up.
Then when I opened a PDF file, the chooser opened allowing me to pick a new PDF reader.
What a fiasco, this is not the fault of any app PDF readers, but more another issue with how either Android 8, or Huawei EMUI 8 or the Home auncher has been tinkered with, and doesn't work correctly, how I came to this conclusion, it was when I then chose Microsoft Word as the default and no amount of fiddling in its settings would change it's default mode to opening PDF files.
This phone needs loads of bug fixes, also the AI seems to make choices incorrectly on the running of the phone, also it's background power saving is way too aggressive, turning off modes that need to be on (this is related to the Watch 2 mainly)
There's something to be said about the Samsungs and Sony's, they may cost a lot more, but from my experience they were pretty seemless in there function.
I guessing this is how it's going to be all the way with this HM10.
Good luck users
I had the same issue, and did spend long time to find a solution, but not as bad as yours.
Yes, when he sets Google pdf as default, you won't be able me find this app, therefore, you won't see an option tm clear or as default!. What I did is search up Google pdf on Play store, then install Google pdf viewer and then clear default of this one. Then it can be detected. By the way, Huawei phone you can also select default pdf app in the default apps setting.
The option to choose default pdf viewer is available on stock emui 9.
