Edit: Just called a store with in stock and verified it is still regular price. In another forum they mentioned Staples selling floor models, maybe you could get a deal on the floor model.
Just checked the Staples website and for stores around my area it is showing "low stock clearance item". Called my local store and they said they are transitioning the Prime to an online only item. He said they are out of stock and will not be carrying the Prime in store but could order it. He also could not tell how much they were on clearance.
Just a heads up if someone is looking for a deal on the Prime. Still love mine and would recommend it to anybody else.
Says low stock clearance item online for local store searches for me, but I called one and they actually do not have any in stock and indicated it was "not on clearance".
Maybe a website typo? If not I want to hop on that if the clearance is good haha
When I called my store and asked if it was on clearance, he said that yes they are putting in stock Primes on clearance. They can still order it for you but it will not be a regular stocked item. I then asked him how much it was and he said he could not look that up as they are out of stock. Would be nice if we could find a store with it in stock and find out what the clearance price is.
I heard the same thing from the two Staples stores in town here. It is only going to be an "online" item.
As for clearance prices, it is the same as regular price.
Thread title misleading. Should be changed accordingly. Not a real clearance priced item at Staples.
Title changed. I apologize, just called a store with in stock and they said it is on clearance but still regular price. Maybe you can score a floor model at a discount.

I got my G Tab for the 255.00 on woot, and since having it others I work with want one and was wondering if you know where to get a great deal for the G Tab instead of paying the 399.99 at Sears.
Also the Clip case question. Where can I get one?
Happy Hump Day!
Many places are mentioned in the threads
Office Depot has it for $299 on the website. It's the cheapest I've found from a reputable retailer.

The Sears Outlet also has a bunch of "refurbs" which a lot of times is one that a customer returned without any defects. Several folks here have bought them before the Woot deal and have reported no problems with buying a "refurb" from the Sears Outlet. Although the site says it's store pickup only several folks have reported that if you first buy it online and then call the store after you've bought it the store will ship it to you for free.

Note: click the "Find all available products" link after the above page comes up to see all the stock.
The clip case you can get at www.electroniccrap.com. He sold out of black so only white ones are available today.
When was it on woot for $255? I only saw $279 both as a daily and the woot-off. I bought mine for $279 on the woot-off.
As low as $316 shipped from Amazon Marketplace.
Oppps, Yes it was 279.00. Was in an alternate reality when I was typing and don't know why I typed 255.00.
Anybody know if staples will be getting this prime? I am holding out because I have a ton of giftcards to staples that I want to use on it
I know staples.ca has confirmed getting the prime, but have not heard anything stateside
Staples USA never carried the first Transformer so I doubt that they'll carry the Prime.
yes they do carry the first transformer.. look at there site. its there. i asked my cuz , who works there and she said she does not see it in her system i was hoping yes to get the discount
yea staples definitely carries the first transformer, everybody went crazy for it when they did that 100$ off any tablet coupon back in august/september
I called both my local store and the 800 number. Both said they knew nothing about it and after checking the system, said that there was nothing: no inventory and no preorders or orders.
Called my local Staples here in Eugene Or. Manager informed me that they will be getting them but no Eta. Not sure how valid that is though.

Apologies if this sounds stupid....so I ended up with 2 primes shipping, one 2nd day, one UPS 3 day select. Due to the holidays I will get one from Store A today. The one from Store B is due Thursday. Of course I'd like to open, charge, and start using the one from Store A today. However, I like the payment plan I used better for Store B.
Question? Will the vendor know which tablet they sent? Are the serial numbers on outside of the box? For example, keep item from Store A, but return item from Store B to Store A due to payment terms. Refund from Store A make payment to Store B.
Does that sound as wacky on screen as it does in my head????

What you ask makes complete sense. I believe from unboxing videos I have seen the serial number is on the back of the box. (My prime from Best Buy will not be here until tomorrow) Not knowing the practices of the vendor you selected there is no way to know if they scan the serial number for tracking purposes. IMHO you should contact the vendor and simply ask. Better safe than sorry.
Thanks for the info, I figured like most electronics the S/N was on the outside of the box. I suppose I could call but that would be a strange conversation wouldn't it? "Yes I'd like to return this Prime I ordered from somewhere else, but it's still in the box." It was Newegg and ABT by the way.
I am debating Ebay but not sure how they are selling on there now?
They always check serials but you could always ask them
Nvidia always!
I'm pretty sure they can check the serial even if it wasn't on the case of the prime. The hardware Id or serial should be accessible in over of the menus. You'd probably get away with it, but I'm sure they could check if they really wanted to.

Or you could just sell it to me if it's a champagne one it would really make my new year since I couldn't enjoy one on Christmas :-(
Try ebay or craigslist, might be able to make a little profit on it if you really want.
Depends on the store, I know for a fact Staples doesn't have a S/N on the receipt. They just check that the box and items S/N match when returned.
Thanks for the replies. I guess I have a day or two to decide. May go the EBay route and see if it sells.
Just stick it on Craiglist, odds are you can make a profit.
You can sell it to me.
I'll take it for free (;
Honestly, just attempt returning it. It's not illegal, so the worst that will happen is that they'll deny you and you'll be back to where you are now.
I'm pretty sure when they scan the bar code they will realize that it's not a match to the info in their system.
I'm in a similar situation. Ordered from store B on 12/4/11 and it shipped 12/23 to be delivered on 01/03/12. 18 months financing.
Purchased 2nd unit 12/19 from store C to be delivered 12/23 but then went to backordered status. Several phone calls to customer service at this store and I'm assured it will ship 12/28 to be delivered 12/29. I was given a $50 credit at this store against the purchase price but no financing deal. The full $450 will charge to my credit card.
I would like to have 18 months to pay but that would essentially mean I just paid $50 more for the unit.
I think I will list the brand new, unopened unit on Craigslist when it arrives from store B on 01/03/11 and use the $$$ to pay my credit card for the purchase at store c where I received the item for $50 less, rather than just returning the unit from store b.
Wow, that's confusing.
Serial number is on the bottom.
Just say you got a second as a present and don't know which is which - and ask if it matters.
January 11th and no store has a transformer prime in stock. Do you think they are working on a REv 2 before they fill retail channels?
I had a suspicion they were holding back on their shipments until ICS release. But just a wild guess.
Fry's has it in stock in stores... at least everywhere in Texas they do... I'm still waiting for my pre-order from Amazon though, as I am getting it for 1/2 price.
I thought of checking my 2 local Frys. But a few things are stopping me.
1) Tax
2) Stupid California Electronic Waste Recycling
3) Almost $200 in Amazon giftcards
4) I think they only have 32GB models at Frys (and BestBuy)? (May be mistaken here).
In all honestly, if it weren't for the extra $60+ it'll cost to get it from Frys because of #1 & #2 I'd get it, unless of course they don't have the 64GB models. I'm always buying stuff from Amazon, so the giftcards wouldn't go to waste.
I THINK Amazon has a longer return policy too... Although I'm not 100%.... This link really scares me:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?ie=UTF8&nodeId=901900
"Computers purchased from Amazon.com which have been opened are subject to a partial refund of 85% of the sale price."
Note that that link seems almost impossible to find through Amazon itself, and has to be dug up through Google search.
Fortunately Amazon has really good customer service, so I'm sure it would only take a few phone calls to get a full refund, if it comes to that. (Plus if I return it it'll be because it's defective or if wifi is extremely ****ty, either way it'll be easier to argue for a full return). Example of Amazon's great customer service: http://forums.webosnation.com/hp-touchpad/292156-amazon-waived-30-day-return-policy-my-touchpad.html
I'm looking to buy the new transformer prime and couldn't find them any where at the local stores, Bestbuy, Brandsmart, etc...What's going on? They're out of stock everywhere. where did you get yours?

They should have been readily available in your local stores since January, but for some reason Asus have been only producing a few here and there so your best bet is online here is a link you can go to what online store has the prime available at the moment:
http://www.nowinstock.net/computers/tablets/asus/transformerprime/
Remember always verify first about their return window, so incase you buy a substandard prime you can easily get an exchange or get your money back with ease.
check Gamestop stores. the ones that carry tablets. I know the brick n mortar store in my area has them in stock now. I called the other day looking for a keyboard dock. they said no docks but plenty of the actual tablet.
The nowinstock link will def. help you find one, that's how I got mines
I got mine at a local Best Buy. Every local store - of every possible chain - reported them as out of stock when I checked online. I listened to some advice my wife gave me....i called and checked. I was lucky enough to get them to hold the last one they had in stock for me.
Just got about 1000 in Dixon's Retail in the UK. Only the second delivery since launch. I think they are slowly coming out.
Amazon.com
I had the same problem but wasn't going to spend almost $100 extra by going through amazon. I waited for the price to go back to retail for over a month but no dice. Finally I checked out an old faithful; Newegg had mine to me (Tallahassee, Florida) in a couple days. No tax. Perfect Prime. Amazon was great for my accessories.

I got mine from Amazon for 500. You finding them for 400?
I got mine from a best buy mobile
I got mine from Amazon, but have seen them on display at my local Staples. not sure if they actually had any in stock though.
Just ordered mine from gamestop online - they have them in stock
Best Buy was my retailer of choice because I had a faulty Xoom still under their extended warranty. I had a couple months till expiration so I waited, hoping Asus' production would mature and supply increase, which didn't really happen as well as I expected.
If you choose Best Buy, use their app too. Search at least daily for TF201 and then click to show the locations they have it in stock. That and nowinstock.net worked for me. Call BB to verify they actually have it and reserve it if they do.
