I'm big on battery life so wondering if any 2.2.1 roms have decent battery life yet before flashing one.
My battery life has always been pretty good but it started going downhill after messing with set CPU without really knowing what I was doing so I uninstalled the app. I've never wiped my battery stats. Any benefit in doing this?
people have different views on different roms but from mostly reading up as a noob i have noticed it is the kernel and modem that you are running that matters. so try to do some research on it. and see which one fits best.

i havent flashed alot like only 4 to 6 roms, and not to disrespect any of the developers but i have only used 2 types, trigger and team whiskey roms. both are good in my opinion. i dont do much fancy stuff just text call use data sometimes play games etc etc. regular use.
another thing i did to save battery life was turn 3g/4g off when i am not using it. just to leave it on eats battery alot. im very new and still learning. this is just an opinion.
above in the noob guide sticky you can find how to recalibrate your battery for maximum power as well. i will be doing that as well since i missed on that part.
i have never till yet flashed a different kernel or modem, but for kernel after reading a lot i have seen that people prefer tigerblood or somethign like that kernel. with their roms.
i hope this helps
I suggest an an called Tasker (from the market) which will let you set a profile that turns off data when the screen is turned off. Saves a lot of battery power.
Oh, yeah, of course you should set screen brightness to 10% and use a Dark homescreen.
Never had to do any of those things. But always had at least a full day's use out of one charge.

Same here, best battery life I've had to date I think. However, I'm not texting much right now and that seems to kill my battery faster than anything.
ToXIC HEROES/TOXIC SMOKE - its freaking awesome and fast as hell with Voodoo and Fugu Tweaks enabled.
Edit:Sorry misread the OP topic - Toxic Smoke is a 2.2 ROM not a 2.2.1.

You don't need any opinion but your own
Too subjective otherwise - no shortcuts, you've got to try them for yourself and see what you get.

cognition 1.31 so far. i tried all of them. this one is bug free + extremly fast + long lasting
does cognition still give that 'stock' look ?
Best battery life is subjective and based on usage, mostly linked to screen on time and usage of mobile data and wifi as long as you don't have rouge apps keeping the phone awake.
Your best best is to try a few of the roms from the dev section.
Personally I have found villian rom and ninphetamine kernel to be a great stock rom based combo and cm nightly to be good, but there are limitations!
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
It's very subjective and I feel it depends more on the apps you have installed really. Having said that, I get really good battery life with villainrom lite + ninphetamine 2.01 kernel (pre-BLN)
Vallian rom +1
what's your screen on time on there?
3 h 14 min till now
Hey guys,
i want to try the litening rom 5 and jeffrey's speed mod kernal combo but am unsure how to do it.

I've been using lightning rom v5 since last yesterday, and phone was fully charged over night. However in terms of battery life is has been pretty crap for me. Hardly used the phone today and battery life is down to 43 percent already. Only made a few txts and received a couple of calls. Gonna be trying villianrom and cognition over the next few days. Hopefully I see a big difference.

Could you be any less specific?? There's a difference between battery life as in how long can a fully charged battery last, and how many years can you use a battery before it's trash. And the OP and you are clearly talking about a different "battery life".
The OP just wants to last longer with one charge cycle and flashing a ROM has no affect whatsoever on that duration. It will (or could) however affect the total life of your battery, because battery stats are wiped and the battery needs to "re-learn" itself. But that is like 1 month shorter on a total life of 4 years.....scary Like we will walk around with our S2's for 4 years
Speedmod kernal seems the best for me. T22

Well Ive been running CleanROM DE for a while now and I like it. Problem is the battery life is terrible for me. I've tried everything and I just cant improve it. I get about a 10 percent drop in an hour with light to medium usage. If the screen is on I can literally watch he bar drop.

I get fairly good life on newts one xxx rls. I got about 10 hrs today while streaming over 4g, texting, 2 calls and some Facebook. I'm sure I can get better battery life after I get over the excitement of sense 4
I have CleanROM DE 1.4 and it's the best battery life I've had, which leads me to believe you should be looking more for a different kernel. I've tried upwards to 10 different ROMs. I'm using the 3.13xx kernel he posted in Post #2 of that ROM thread.
Also, just a note, upgrading the firmware helped tremendously. Not just using the patch, but taking the dive and flashing the RUU. My phone got better with both battery life and heat.

Battery Monitor Pro is great. Even logs all that data and has nice graph. It also allows you to swap batteries and also the battery data with it so each spare battery you have is correctly calibrated.

ymmv with the battery life. i've seen plenty of people with really good battery life reports on aosp (cm9 or cm10). getting anywhere from 3-4 hours screen on with the standard battery. obviously not the 6 hours your getting on your inc, but its to be expected with a better screen and a bigger screen.

Great devoloping phone
I'd have to say if you are used to geting your hands dirty this is a great phone to mess around with. Certain things are tricky to learn like the S-Off trick. The batery life and speed on this phone is great. I've used almost every rom for this and the 2 roms that ive met that meet my requirements for now are Viper Rez 1.0.3 and jelybean ┬─┬ ノ( ^_^ノ) rom. I prefer to use the Amon Ra Recovery and nandroid backup and restore is my bestfriend when switching my roms out. The best thing i've learned though is how to use the kitchen and theming for any device ive owned.
I'm pretty familiar with the Kitchen but what so do I need to upload? For CM7 I just pulled the apk theme and uses that. CM10 you need framework Res? What else

Don't be fooled by the optimism of these guys. There is currently no AOSP variant that is fully functional. CM9 is closer than 10, but there are still things that don't fully work. If you want everything to work as it should, you will need a Sense 3.6 rom and battery life will not be very good. The awesome screen on this phone drains a battery very quickly. We do have some great devs working on both Sense and AOSP, but they can't really make the screen more efficient.

well, what exactly, outside of bluetooth calling isn't fully functioning on aosp? afaik, nothing. and even on sense 3.6 roms, there are plenty of very optimized roms with some awesome kernels that can actually give you pretty good battery life.

You just made my point. If everything doesn't work, then it is not fully functional. As for battery life, it will always be personal opinion as to what is "good", but I don't consider 2-2.5 hours screen on time to be good (and that is what I have seen reported more often than not).
Don't get me wrong, I do think the Rez is a good phone, but it isn't great, and I probably wouldn't spend $200 to get one right now. I was lucky enough to get mine for $50 back when they had it on special and still kept my unlimited.
Well I avg 2.5 hrs screen time stock battery on 4g on and sync and data for everything and over 4 on the OEM extended. Doesn't matter if I run aosp or sense or jb.
To the op, I very much enjoy my rezound and after having many phones on Verizon the rezound is still a fantastic device. However I would strongly suggest soff, amon ra, and multiple stock batteries with a wall/dock for them if you want to keep it slim. Camera is top notch. I run a sense 4 Rom currently and couldn't be happier. It's development is growing due to committed devs. I get battery battery life on my stock rezound battery and sense 4 or aosp that any Rom I had on my vzw nexus. Consistently. The screen is beautiful. Signal is always strong. Soff wil allow you to test many many combinations until you find something you like.

Battery life on ROMs is a tough variable. Having hung around these forums for a really long time I can tell you that you will see huge swings in reeactions to battery life, often on the same ROM. There are so many things that can influence battery life that it really is a YMMV thing. you might be able to get some general trends from reading ROM threads, but there is no such thing as "gospel truth". some genral thoughts
1. Push email and facebook chew through battery
2. The accepted consensus is that battery saver prgrams like juice defender can eat as much battery ormore than they save but if you have a specific use case they may work.
3. you can spend your whole day chasing wakelocks...
All ROMs generally have about the same battery life. Battery is all about how you use your phone and how you manage what is running in the background.

Obviously everyone's mileage will vary, but of every ROM I've tried I've seen the best battery out of the Sentinel sense based ROM over in the international one development section. Yes it and basically every other ROM over there is compatible with the att variant

I have tried Sense 5.0, the Google Play Edition ROM and two CM nightly, the most recent one being July 5.
Both the GE and CM handily beat the stock Sense ROM in battery life (at least that was my perception).
CM 10.1 seemed to be a bit better than the Google Edition ROM (it also seems to be significantly more efficient in its use of resources which translates into better battery life), but there are still some issues with CM...NFC, Bluetooth, no Beats Audio Drivers, and I like the new Jelly Bean Camera App better so I am sticking with the GE ROM for the time being.
I love CM though and will probably go back to it once everything gets ironed out...
OK so I too have been questioning battery life. CM 11 did... OK. My previous phone was the Moto G, and comparatively my One has been doing terrible on battery life! I'm currently on Pacrom, tried PA and a couple similar as well, getting 9 hr battery life, 2 hr on (like what the f***!) according to GSam. I'm thinking about stock gpe and playing with kernels? Thoughts? Testing has been taking a while as I try to give every rom kernel combo 3 days at least, a week preferred.

A some what general consensus of Battery life for the One:
Sense > Google Edition > AOSP
In my opinion the best battery life will come from a fairly close to stock sense Rom such as MaximusHD with poondog's Kangaroo Kernel.
