Yes, you can uninstall Rom manager. But don't delete the clockworkmod folder on your sd, it holds your backups and 4ext can restore those.
And if you flashed 4ext, cwm recovery is gone.
thanks wikd,
if i remove rom manager will the folder containing those backups remain?
just a thought im going to copy all backups to my pc.

It should stay, I've flashed a lot or roms and that essentially uninstalls it, but my folder stays.
thanks again wikd,
I copied all backups and roms to my pc,ive now removed rom manager and cwm backup folder is still there.
have checked with es file explorer all seems well !
and again 4ext (free) is great.
Now you have 4ext i advise you install the 4ext updater app
It allows you to update to the latest version through the app, it's great!
Get it here
http://www.4ext.net/get.php?apk
thanks 00mpollard,
ill try that.
00mpollard,
is that not what ive got installed already ie free option?
It's the free option yes
00mpollard,
can i update using this free app of 4ext??
Yeah you can
thanks 00mpollard,
could you explain how to update 4ext?

i wouldnt recommend using ROM manager but if you have amon recovery theres a nand backup & restore for those purposes under the backup and restore tab.

Yes, just use the Amon Recovery, which you're probably using, to flash update.zip from the SD card. update.zip is put there by ROM Manager and will take you to Clockwork Mod Recovery. From there you can access the NAND backups you told it to make from ROM Manager. If you're talking about deleting old NAND backups from Recovery, not exactly, but you can mount your SD card through USB from recovery (easier in Amon RA, but can be done via an option in one of the menus in Clockwork Mod, too) and then "manage" the files from Windows.
Does this answer your question?
Anybody got this recovery version... I want it...
Just update with rom manager if you have Root..

But i only get up v2.5.0.7??
Edited: Got it but why is not fully? As in I installed it then when I reboot is go back to cwm v2.5.0.1? Strange...
1. Open ROM Manager
2. Scroll all the way down to the experimental thing
3. Choose the latest. (3.x.x.x). it will download.
4. Scroll all the way to the top
5. choose reboot to recovery.
6. You will see an installing thing in recovery, after which you will have the new recovery
Edit: whoops sorry that doesnt work lol.
Just download the image from Jacobs thread here and then re-root with unrevoked, you need to select use different recovery from the menu.
But everybody makes sure sd-ext not works!!!
Ext is working fine here....

Strange Jacob stated and I confirmed sd-ext format under cwr 3.0.0.5 gives error!

Ok forget the error for now - how do you reroot with unrevoked when it does not work with new framework. I mean true you can do it if you flash the old stock rom and re root again but it seems to be too much effort for nothing.

oh yeah sorry my bad it doesnt work
cant mount or format.
However, I`ve found a great solution. When want to perform clean install under CWR3, flash update from SD Card CWR latest version v3.0.0.6 and here it is. Sd-ext and dalvik cache work like a charm.

I installed pre beta 3 and then rom manager said I need to insert an sd card. I have one in so I partitioned it and that fixed it. Then I downloaded and installed gapps using cwn recovery. 4.0.1.4 I think. After that there was nothing new in my app drawer. Am I being stupid idk exactly how everything works yet. Would gapps give me market because that's all I really need.

While I have not installed cm7 on my Atrix, I know that on my nook market doesn't show until you set up your Gmail account. Have you done that yet?

Go to bootloader then recovery find install zip from SD card go into clockworkmod folder find the zip file for gapps which if I'm correct its called go inside me" or something similar and flash it that way. Sometimes when I'm installing roms for reviews that's how I have to do it

Hello Everyone!!!
I have samsung galalxy pop/mini gts5570 running Cyanogenmod 7 with Clock work mod recovery. I just wanted to know is there a way to make my own flashable zip file containing all the mostly needed & used application. Since, I have to manually install each app after upgrading or changing my rom, i just though why not install them from a single zip file.
So, anyone can you help me in making my own flashable zip file. Please provide me the directory structure of the file, i will pack the apks myself ... Or if there is any other way to do so plz tell me ...
Thank YOu!!!

Gotcha. The ROM I'm using allows users to customize many of the apps that are installed during flash... even allows us to install our own personal set of apps. This is done with a text doc on the SD card. I know you said you wanted to flash through recovery, but it's sorta the same idea.
Man why don't ya use the batch option in TB and by that option u can backup / restore all your apps in one click to use batch use menu button
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda premium
I know titanium has batch option that can do it. But I wanted make zip so that I can flash it in CWM recovery this way my files will be organized in one place and it will be fast too.
You can try using app2zip.
using titanium backup pro
I already using titanium back up pro..look optoion,,and make flashable zip..and when it finish the file name is update.zip.. now U just flash your own app+data
.... from recovery. Is it possible?
My backup is saved on internal sd, but i cant acces it from recovery for some reason.
Tnx

Its possible. Maybe your recovery is outdated so it doesn't have the option to use internal sd. Use the latest romracer's recovery.

Dont use the one from rom manager. Romracer's recovery is different from the one from rom manager. Romracer's recovery is specialized for our atrix, so it can detect atrix partition, including partition for webtop and emmc (internal storage).

While I agree with the previous post about using Romracers recovery, I don't agree with the reasoning, but you should definitely use Romracers. The ROM Manager version, if I am remembering correctly does not allow backup to external sdcard? I forget, but in any event, Romracer's recovery is the most stable and widely used for the Atrix. (Oh yeah, and avoid touch recovery).
Thank you guys,...
I wonder, why they include ROM Manager in roms if we cant really use them?
Same thing with my Asus Transformer
