Hi, I installed the XEO LPQ firmware that was initially released. I didn't connect to the forum for about a week, and I see now there are new releases. The thing is, being in Hong Kong I went on a short trip to Shenzhen, and had a lot of issues (data lost completely during the MTR subway trip, my girlfriend with her stock Note would connect everywhere with no issues), and couldn't connect to some wifis my gf could. So all in all, it seems this LPQ has some flaws, at least in Asia. I'd like to change the modem to the Hongkonese version, what do you think?
How should I do this? I never flashed modems individually. Can it be done throuhg CWM? Or do I need to use ODIN?
Thank you!
There are some threads where are links to cmw flashable modems, if you don't what you are looking for, next place would be sammobiles

Hi guys,
I'm wanted to ask some questions since I still have some doubts after grinding the forum threads.
I purchased an unlocked SGS2 in UK and I live in Portugal.
The phone is currently rooted and running Cognition 1.5 based on KH3.
While checking CSC version I found that it's still on version XEU KD1.
MY questions are:
Is there any technical advantage in upgrading CSC to a later version?
Is it worthwhile or safe enough to upgrade to a different CSC region like OXA KH3 for example, and still retain all usability of the phone in my current region?
If portugal CSC code is TPH, why is it that with a XEU CSC it's working perfectly with my current portuguese providers?
Is there a way to upgrade CSC by CWM Recovery or can I only upgrade it via Odin?
Thanks for any tips and pointers you guys may have for me.
Regards from Portugal
1) apn settings.
2) it's safe and does not sffect usability of the phone
3) because phone autonatically picks the apn settings for you.
4) you can do it on both.
No point changing if it all works, csc is just apn settings and any bundled apps.

Thanks for the answers guys.
I decided to go ahead and flash it just for the fun of it.
Flashed CSC via ODIN to OXA KH3 and everything is working fine. Wiped my settings but was expecting that so no biggie.
Thanks sent to both.

Hi there, I know this is an old thread, but I thought i'd update it for new comers and googlers who come across this as I just did
I have flashed an ICS 4.0.3 LP7 Firmware over to an I9100T and the Firmware is an I9100 firmware, and I have no issues with it so far, signal and data speeds are fine and everything works as it should
I hope this helps somebody else
hi all,
I have been using XXKI4 (full Stock) for a week now.
Is it me or this just the way XXKI4 behaving. I found that ZSKI3 is alot more stable than KI4.
When my tasker is switching from home to office and witching Wifi to Data, my skype seems to be more solid using the KI3.
Battery is about the same. may be abit better on KI3 (strangely enough).
Any opinions are much appreciated.
Cheers
ZSKI3 was Hong Kong Rom vs XXKI4 for International version.
I wouldn't put the Hong Kong version on my device just suggesting.
The Hong Kong/Taiwan (ZS) roms are compatible with other international Galaxy S II versions. You might be thinking of the mainland China (ZC) roms which are completely different and might screw up your phone.
As for the differences between ZSKI3 and XXKI4, Samsung doesn't release changelogs so who knows what the actual differences are. You might want to do a full wipe and see if that helps though.
Also I think ZSKI4 should be coming out soon, since Samsung canceled ZSKI3 on Kies for Hong Kong.
Does anyone have a download link for the ZSKI3??
That was my original firmware and since my phone won't boot up, I wanted to try flashing that back on to it.

Hi guys I just wanted to know if what I'm about to do is the correct method to upgrade my firmware from gingerbread to ics.
I bought my phone ( i9100 ) from Hong Kong and I live in a different country. So when there was an update for its firmware, i was unable to receive it even after checking for updates through system. So what I'm about to do is use Odin and download a firmware from samfirmware under HK's firmware and put it in the PDA part of Odin and run it.
Is this method correct? Or am I suppose to do something else? My phone is not rooted and I dont intend for it to be just yet and I'm also wondering if I use HK's firmware, will it affect my network coverage? Because being in a different country and having a different assigned network and all might cause a few problems with its radio or something?
Please advice thanks
Hi yes that's how I upgraded my firmware that method will work. Be sure to factory reset first though. As for your carrier concerns I can't answer sorry. The beauty with this though is that you can re-flash a different firmware if it doesn't work. All the best

1. Your method is correct. You shouldn't have signal issues.
Before flashing you must go through the flashing guides.
2. If you are living in another country and don't have plans of going to Hong Kong or your phone is out of warranty (this doesn't matter), you can flash any firmware for your present location. It will work very fine.
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII
Hey guys!
So I've had my S3 for a few weeks now and i bought it online from Kogan and assumed that the CSC would be XSA because i chose Australia for the firmware update thing when i first booted my phone up.
However Kies shows my phone as being ORS which is the CSC for Slovakia.
I decided that I'm going to flash my phone to another CSC but I'm stuck on whether to change it to XSA (Australian) or to flash an European stock ROM. This is because Australia is horribly slow at receiving updates and most countries in Europe are the first to get them.
So since I have never flashed my S3 before, I would really appreciate it if someone could explain how and where to download the appropriate files from. Basically I want to be able to get updates quickly without having problems here in Australia. Any comment is welcome.
Thanks!

If you want JB now you need to flash the Polish ROM, either ICS and update or just flash one of the ODIN images. Or you can use a custom ROM based on that official release. Start with the sticky threads, then have a look in the development forum.
