Does anyone know where I can find an extra charger and cable for my prime?
TIA,
Kevin

They have the actual ASUS model.....got mine in 3 days from CA to VA....$39.99 + a free stylus.

CompUSA has them. You can order the TF101 also. It works for TF101, 201 and the Slate.
Dont buy a knockoff, make sure it has that ASUS logo on the front. It's worth it, kind more sturdy. I went thru a few.
Here is a direct link to Office Depot's chargers:
http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/768723/ASUS-Power-Adapter-For-Eee-Pad/
I have bought 3 of these and I can tell you that they have all been official Asus charging outlets. The ones I got had folding outlet prongs but some people have reported getting fixed prongs just like the charger that comes with the Transformer Prime.
Also if you buy 2 of these chargers, you get free shipping

The charger went on sale yesterday for $29.99....went out of stock pretty quickly....

I really hope some 3rd party chargers come out soon...i need one since i lost the power plug part of the charger and havent been able to charge it...
the TF is relatively cheep for what it is, but is Asus thinking of making bank with accessories?
$150 for dock, somewhat reasoable, but still a bit overpriced.
$40 for cheap (as in weak) portfolio case
$40 for cable?!?!?!
i don't like where this is going.

I disagree on this note.
the dock is pretty damn cheap for what it is. 150 dollars, (I paid 123 shipped through tigerdirect) and its a keyboard, USB ports, SD card slot, and the biggest point here, a HUGE BATTTERY. Think of how much something like this would cost if it were just a battery. People love to charge premium for batteries.
For the accessories, everyone knows tat they are gonna be expensive. Look at Apples accessories. They set the standard for expenive ass items.
That being said, the charger price is wicked expensive. 24.99 would be a fair price from a nmanufacturer.
One bad thing about the charger they are selling is that it doesn't look any different than the one that came with the Transformer to start with. And it's defiantly not worth 40$.

Aggravating detail: Charging cable is even out of stock! LOL
Ok I've been wanting to pinout the charge connector and measure the volts and amps on the charger. I'm going to start today. Stay tuned for a new thread.

$40 for a charger is kind of outragous when you stop to consider that one didn't ship with the dock.I'll be taking extra special care of my cable and charger till there are less expensive alternatives availble.

Some effort has already been done on this and it appears that the charger must be connected to the TF to actually supply voltage. AKA nothing when open circuit. Since charger is listed as 5V and 15V it is possible a sense pin in the connector lets the charger know what voltage to supply.

I don't believe anything other than the tablet/dock terminating pin on the cable is what triggers the charger to charge. Once I my 3.0 extension cable comes in I should be able to figure it out.

There's a couple of stores where I live in Canada, selling the dock for just under $130. I'm expecting Monoprice to eventually come out with a USB cable for the Transformer, which will cost under $10.
WG
I posted a couple comments on ASUS' Facebook page. They deleted all of them claiming I "spammed" them by asking in two separate posts about the availability of chargers.
They magically "undeleted" my post and two different ASUS employees responded with boilerplate "we will check and have someone respond to you ". I never heard back from anyone. This was about two weeks ago.
So, does anyone have any updates? Why no third party chargers? I would think the market is huge. eBay is flooded with cases now, but no chargers.
now its $50 for the charger.. lol?
It is consider cheap. In Singapore, the charger cost S$50 and the cable cost S$20.
I paid for the charger as it is very fragile, used less than a month, it is broken.
I posted a couple items on FB. Let's see whether they get a response.

I'm going to check it out and help.
EDIT: Just checked out their ASUS fan page and the Eee Pad "app" page. I didn't see anything about chargers. Which one did you post in? I posted in the main ASUS fan page.

The fact that Apple gouges their customers is no defense for allowing Asus to do it. I, for one, do not expect accessories like this to be this expensive.

Wow. It is. F you Asus. That's about $49 of profit for them.

Can you check the "Type" with a magnifying glass on the broken item?
Is it 0B-0LF, 0B-1LF, 0B-2LF, whatever....

LOL. Since they are not selling it yet, I think any price is likely wrong.
I really like the estore, because they are a direct parts supplier for little guys. We do not have to be resellers nor repair shops.
In retail USA shops and on eBay we can buy AC Adapters now. I am starting to see these chargers distributed in *many* more places as the accessory line catches up.
In my opinion, I cut the estore slack because of the *service* it provides across a broad ASUS line.
I recently got this tablet, and purchased a leather type of case (the kind you can fold back to prop it up...here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CaseCrown-Bold-Standby-Case-Asus-Transformer-Pad-BK-/180690088957?pt=US_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item2a11f7f3fd)...
and now I am thinking that I may like something else better like perhaps a sleeve or a carrying case of some sort, but I do not want anything big or bulky because I picture that I will put it inside of my backpack anyways....
for example, I was currently thinking of one of these, or a variation of...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Sleeve-Case-Bag-Asus-EEE-Pad-Transformer-/130570427400?pt=US_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item1e669a9c08

I figured the extra pouches can serve as a spot to hold the charger and whatever else accessories I happen to have at the time..
Please give me your opinions and recommendations, I am open to all..
I am also considering the sleeve, I simply want something cheap to protect the device some when I put it inside a suitcase/backpack. Wonder if anyone used these?
I use the Case Logic VNA214 14.1 inch attache, and the AYL Leather Cover Case Folio for Asus Eee Pad Transformer from Amazon.com.
(sorry there are no links, I haven't posted enough yet)
The bag is perfect, holds everything i need with the TF: Bluetooth mouse, charger for TF, charger for phone. Keyboard dock (even when not in use), head phones, notebooks, etc. Main thing I like about the case is that it let's the transformer sit a tad higher so it can use the charger while standing up.
Hope this helps!

My I ask why you bought the VNA214 instead of the VN210 (10 inch) ?
Is VNA214 (14 inch) not to big for it ?
I just ordered a Sling-bag and a sleeve for under $20 USD shipped
Portable Soft Protect Cloth Cover Case Sleeve Bag Pouch for 10" Tablet PC MID
from - ebay for $3.15 free shipping
Kensington iPad Sling Bag - Black
from - ebay for $15.99 free shipping
I can't post links yet but if u copy/paste them in ebay search they should come up easily.

I wanted a bigger bag. But the reviews I read on the 10 say the 10 fits the TF just fine. And the 14 fits with room to spare, without seeming to big. I didn't want the 10 because I felt it would be too small for everything I wanted to carry with me, and I felt it might appear as a man purse, which is definitely not my thing! But it would work, I am sure, for a sleeve type replacement.

I bent the pins on the charging/docking port, can a reasonably capable civilian replace it?
Any links to part suppliers?
ASUS Transformer Prime TF201-B1-GR Eee Pad 10.1-Inch 32GB Tablet

i highly doubt there are parts available so far..
you probably end up having it send to asus for repair..
u tried ebay?
Yes I tried Ebay no listing. Thanks.
I am in the same boat, I noticed that there is no centre section to the hold the pins straight like on the Tablet. This is concerning to me as the pins will always be getting bent. I am going to try and straighten mine with tweezers.
Next I am going to try and use a USB kit on that connector to get another USB port. So I really don't want bent pins..
Ditto on the bent pins...this is a serious design flaw. Anyone have any luck fixing it?
Has anybody found the part for this?
(My port broke)
The problem is a poorly designed internal docking cable. Send it in for RMA repair and it will be fixed at no cost for the repair.

Does the origami-like Smart Cover from Asus for the Transformer Prime works/fits on the Transformer 300? The dimensions of the two tablets are almost the same, so I think it will work... Can anyone confirm this?
interesting cover never seen it before. seem out of stock at amazon and others. do they still make it anymore?

I buyed one on Amazon Germany...
The smart cover fit on the screen an you can put it in the Dock connectors on the Tablet, but it doesnt hold solid on the right Dock connector, so its very easy to pull the cover out of the Connectors. On a Youtube Video with the Transformer prime the Guy hold the Smart Cover and the Tablet hangs on this. With the one i had, the tablet falls down.
In don't know if the Problem was on the Smart Cover or the connectors on the Tablet.
Anybody using this? I seen it at my local Office Depot, and it did fit the TF300T, but I wasn't quite sure about using it until I seen some reviews.
I purchased the cover only to return it. Only 1 hinge would stay connected as mentioned in other posts. I returned it and am now waiting for a new case I purchased on Amazon.

I just picked up a TF700 dock at Best Buy for $99+tax. I've been usin it a couple days and I don't see any problems. Apparently the TF700 and TF201 docks are almost identical. I was even able to put on my carbon fiber sticker/protector thing all on it. My actual tablet has a screen protector on the front and the carbon fiber sticker stuff on the back and it still fits into the **** connector no problem.

I bought the "tf700 dock" off amazon, correct SKU and all, and it turned out to be a rebadged TF201 dock with the battery balance issues (transformer tips over because the base isnt heavy enough.
Wasnt too happy about that. Confirm that this is the true TF700 dock?
AFIK the TF201 dock has a higher capacity battery than the TF700 dock, otherwise they are pretty much the same. Is the TF700 dock heavier?

Well I ordered a dock and the guy on eBay sent me some police radar guns instead, so I have to ship them back to him and he will send me the dock free (he said he will refund it and ship the dock)
So I went to best buy to buy the dock instead of waiting for him, my store didn't have them on sale so I had to order it for store pickup to get the price. I found it weird but whatever.
I really hope this works with the TF201... I don't get the tablet until tomorrow
Nexus 4. Paranoid edition.
I'd keep the police radar guns, those will be worth more than a keyboard, I'd sell it but that's just me...
