I can't install any rom from my sd card always gives me same error "the install failed" and then it say something about the wrong "argument" and can't mount the file. and yes I wiped data and cashe I don't know how many times

Maybe you are installing the incorrect ROM.
Do you have the phone rooted?

so dude i suggest u google a bit ...try to find out the benefits of rooting and custom roms .....i like the articles at androidpolice.com..then maybe checkout the rooting guides here in this forum cheers mate...

dude to flash custom roms u need to :
1.root ur phone(rooting guide present in General section)
2.flash cwm 5( just google cwm5 for samsung galaxy ace xdadevelopers.com)
3.choose a rom u prefer..always remember that theres no thing called best rom..every rom is best in its own way..( though many of us including me prefer cm7 for its sheer awesomeness )
4. always thank the rom developer and appreciate his work( hitting the thanxx button will also do)
5.ALWAYS i repeat ALWAYS read the tutorials carefully and clear your doubts beforehand
6. love XDA for being there for us ..for allowing us to rule our phonez..

First things first - the Ace doesn't have clockworkmod/similar yet, so I tried to get it working today on my friend's phone. I just need to find out how to extract the kernel from the boot partition (it doesn't use mtd :/) and then we should be able to have clockworkmod.
Well nhnt11 has already started the development of the clockworkmod recovery with my mobile. Wish him good luck. And am helping to do it with him.

I've looked into this. I think the best possible way to get clockworkmod is to do it the same way as they do on the Galaxy S. By packing recovery in update.zip
Haven't looked further though.

No, sorry. The Nexus S is an entirely different smartphone with different hardware and drivers. You will brick your phone if you try.
And to all the senior members reading this guy's question: don't blame him. He is an honest and polite noob, and I'm sure searching for "Nexus S ICS update for Galaxy Ace" in Google won't give satisfying results.

It's available somewhere in this forum, but it's still a work in progress so I won't recommend it.

i would recommend you not to flash that thing as you are very new to rom stuffs or even droid
cm9 is alpha stage not for daily use..
you better stick to stock or flash cm7 based roms
I recommend you do not flash CM9(ICS) yet...
Its under development and there are many issues regarding this

1.ics sunday was based on cyanogenmod builds
2.the myth is tweaked and themed stock rom
so myth is for stablity and ics sunday for speeeeeeeed

OK first as stated above that is a theme not ICS. Second spend the time to learn what your doing before you do it or your gonna end up with a big brick that you can't do anything with.

I am searching tutorials but i cant find one that realy works for me since the Galaxy s Plus is new ..
If you just want to have the ICS look, you just need to install Go Launcher Ex and install a matching theme.
If you want to completely change the ROM and all features, best you can do is read carefully this guide fabsau wrote. It's Galaxy Plus especific, so if you read and understand that guide, you shouldn't have any problem.

No, you can't because it designed to run bada and you need to make android rom yourself for your phone, which is not possible as it requires high technical knowledge like compiling a rom, compiling kernel for your device using source of another device! You should have good knowledge of soldering pins or wires to flash boot loader on main board by opening the phone! The results may not be guaranteed, you might also brick your cellphone.

I bought two Samsung Galaxy Ace S5831i from China. The phone was good but I wanted to get rid of all the chinese stuff from it and used Odin and firmware from Sammobile. But instead, I installed the MDB file for the S5830i. (Not intentionally though). The phone seemed okay at first and I didnt notice my mistake until I try to use it. Many error messages and apps fail. The big problem is the Camera. It doesn't work...errorhandlesmesssage -1...Well, then I googled for a custom ROM and couldnt find one. So I used firmware for Galaxy Y and installed that. (Intentionally though I thought the two phones are kinda close ) Now, the phone doesn't start or enter into download mode either. I heard I may be able to enter download mode by USB Jig but then what? I cant find any ROM for the 5831i. And what to do with the second phone? It has the S5830i installed on it. Please please help!!!!

Did you go to download mode using Power+Volume Up+Volume down? Don't install Galaxy Y Roms on the Ace otherwise your phone will get bricked! When you say the Galaxy Ace S5831i is that a typo are do you mean 1i? If so there hardware is probably the same a 0i so you can most probably install 0i Roms on this '1i'.

I dont think it is fake. I tried connecting it with Keis and I could download the ROM. But it kept on giving me error messages. Anyone has any idea which phone may be close enough to this one?

Yes, keis was able to download the file. It starts installing it but the error message kept occuring. That is why I guess it is not fake.

There's no s5831i, check again.
If it's a clone, in the box should be a brand name and try to download the firmware from their stores -I don't know about phones, but tablets can be unbricked so easily-.
If you can confirm is s5830i, just try odin and download a rom for your country -google have them, if you can't find the link let me know i'll re look for the page where most of the country roms are available-.

Hmmm if you flashed both of them I have bad news for you... If not, you might want to try dumping the working one and make an odin flashable package...
Another good option is to install antutu benchmark on the working phone and see the technical specs like processor, gpu, etc..
