No Notification Dots? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I installed Go Launcher EX and the EX Notification plugin. I have an odd '35' number on Facebook (on my laptop FB reads '(3)' right now) and that's it. Nothing for Handcent, ATT Visual Voicemail or Gmail. There's some blurb on the Google Play Store notes saying Google broke the latest Gmail app and that if you have the latest version you're SOL.
How can I just get red dot notifications for these apps? VVM, Handcent, correct number for FB and Missed Calls? It's hard to Google or search for this topic as there doesn't seem to be a de facto universal term for these notice dots.

[Q] Google Talk notifications

I use Meebo IM on my G Tab, and have set up my Google Talk account on it. When somebody sends me a message via Google Talk, I get notifications for both Meebo and Google Talk in the notification bar. I used Titanium Backup to uninstall Google Talk (and one other service that was related to Google Talk, but I don't remember the name). However, even after uninstalling it I still get notifcations from it. When I click on that notification, nothing happens.
Does anybody know how I can make it so the only notifcation I get is the one for Meebo? Thanks!
I'm using VEGAn-Tab Ginger Edition btw (the most up to date version) if that is useful.

Sense settings

I feel strange asking a stock question here, because I've always come here for rom issues, but I feel like I'm missing something obvious.
I am trying to set my gmail app to display my notifications, which it does, but not play any sounds. I want this happen independently from all my other apps and notifications. I've discovered the sounds tab in personalize, but unlike cyanogenmod that I was running on my incredible, there is no (silent) option. At this point, I've tested changing "Email" sound and it didn't have an impact on what played when I received an email.
...what am I missing with this new version of sense?

In gmail, press the menu key, and press more. Hit settings, and then tap your account. Scroll down to notification settings and click Labels to notify. Then inbox. Then ringtone, and silent should be in there. Hope this helps
... I just added my second gmail account. I'm even more confused now. At this point I have a google account that my phone was set up with and a gmail account that my second account is synced with. It seems that one is set up as a gmail and the original as a google account... Wtf is the difference? And since the gmail account (the second one) isn't seen by the gmail app, but instead by the mail app... What am I supposed to use. Any clarification would be awesome.

In the Mail app, go to more>settings>notification settings. Then turn off email notifications. Then in the gmail app, go into more>settings, and under account settings, click the account you want. If it is not there, add it with the add account button. Then, scroll down to notification settings, and click label notifications>inbox>ringtone>silent
I feel so stupid. Now I remember going through all this when I set it all up before. I think I just thrown for a loop with te option to set up a google account or a gmail account... Where the gmail account used mail app, not the gmail app, but uses a gmail notification icon where the gmail pp uses the stock mail notification icon. I love this phone. I am a die hard HTC fan, but only the hardware. I know ice cream sandwich is going to hit the rezound, but a they going to skin it with sense 4.0? I'd love the option from a manufacturer instead of having to root it and throw ROMs at it.
Thanks again guys for pointing out the obvious. Don't suppose ere is a equally simple way to set the notification icon to the red gmail icon is there?

Not without root. That is trademark to the Mail app. Glad you got your problem fixed

(Q) lockscreen texts and calendar issue

I noticed that on my lockscreen it only shows appointments for one of my Google calendars (I don't have this one checked to show) and not any of the ones I do have checked.
I dont have this calendar checked in the calendar app or the lockscreen settings.
I tried selecting a different one and removing the account it still shows like this.
Also txt msgs on the lock screen and in the app show the persons phone number, I don't see any option to show their name instead. Is there one I missed or some hack for this? All of my contacts are Google contacts.
Both things make me think there's something up with my Google account.
Figured this I've out. Clearing the data for HTC Sense fixed it.
Also it looks like the lock screen style for Productivity is bugged and only shows the contacts phone number instead of name, the others work fine.

HTC Sense Mail App Count

I was wondering if there was a way to not clear the notification count when the app is opened or the notifications bar is cleared. This is annoying as I like to always see how many unread messages I have even after I go into the app. I have looked for alternatives and the best I can find is maildroid (I have 2 gmail accounts and an exchange 2010 account). Maildroid has it's issues though and I prefer the HTC Sense Mail app.

Agreed. This bothers me as well, especially since switching from the iPhone where i got used to this feature. I've just dealt with it as I can't find a way to fix it either.
Maybe with the 4.3 update? Have you tried with another launcher (ie Nova)?

Google 4.4 dialer

Is it possible there, and i the Google dialer on a carrier phone? I have it on there and I can run it but it's not the default. When I dial, and receive calls it is still the old HTC screens. People icon goes to HTC people as does any app that links to contacts. But in the Google dialer , when I run it directly, it is the. Google version of the contacts.
I had the same issues as you with it and no favorites or recently contacted
