Hi everybody,
I really love the capacity to shutdown or reboot from an app, without playing with the upper button of the TFP.
As the application Quick Boot does shut down very brutally (really quick) the prime (shutdown or reboot option), do you think it can break something if daily used ?
I've personally been using a quick shutdown widget for at least a month and haven't seen any negative effects. I will say, however, that I make sure that I'm not in the middle of anything when I do it.
I've been using quickboot on my evo for over a year no prob no matter when I use it use it for recovery and bootloader and all
Hi everybody,
Thanks for your answers, i'll stay safe like soulctcher said, be sure nothing is working on background while quick rebooting/shutdown.

Hi guys,
I finally installed Windows 7 bootcamp on my Mac, and went away on flashing kernel to XWKDD_insecure.tar, and rooting the S2 with S2 Root app. Everything went smoothly, and I now have TB Pro with a couple of apps frozen.
However, one very noticeable change after I flash and rooted was that my Applications button is very hard to activate. I thought I had imagined it, but when I unlock via Widgetlocker slider, and tap the Applications icon on the bottom right, nothing happens with the normal pressure I am used it. To activate it, I must push down with a little force for a second or two, let go, and it will go to the application folder. Also, I have also notice that when I wake the phone, the unlock widgetlocker slider is slightly unresponsive at first, I must also apply more force, hold it for a second, and slide for the slider to work. Before I rooted (6 hours ago), I can lightly tap the application icon, or light slide the unlock slider, and it would work.
Another weird thing is also buttons on the screen works fine thus far.
Anyone have this rather weird problem? I am slightly regretting rooting the phone, because the applications icon just wouldn't budge despite multiple taps... I've tried battery pulls, etc, but the problem persists, especially right after I unlock the phone.
Any input is much appreciated!
Thank you
Did you found a solution? I have the same problem, but I don't know if it's because rooting? This is really annoying.
Same here after CF-root.
and let me add that the return touch key (below the applications icon) isn't so responsive as before rooting!
I thought I was just imagining but I am "glad" you guys having the same problem.
Looking forward for a solution.
Maybe asking Chainfire ?
Well I just installed a stock rom, same thing.
My 'back' button is very un-responsive as well. it's like I really have to hit the spot for it to react.
Am having the same issue with the back key and i am still stock non rooted

Non rooted you say, interesting...
I thought it is because I rooted it.

This is certainly not the first time I've heard about such complaints, infact a few friends also had this issue as well they had their phones replaced.
This may seem lame and I feel kind of dumb posting it but I cannot find a simple widget that just shuts off my g-tab. Every time I press the power switch I think about how light weight it feels and how important it is to mod the tablet. Using it everyday to start and stop the device seems like extra wear and tear for nothing. With all the other buttons virtualized, it would seem that there ought to be a simple "power off" button. My searches and subsequent downloads have turned up buttons that lock the screen, turn off wifi, show you the battery and probably display dancing hampsters but a simple "press this widget and the device powers off" has eluded me. Does anyone have one?
Quick Boot (Reboot) in Market
I've used it since it came out. This is free but I would recommend you pay for the upgrade.

WARNING!!!!
Do NOT ever use the Reboot Recovery option with this app. It will very likely throw you into a bootlop that requires you to use adb to correct. Just went through that a week ago. No fun.
Hi all,
I've expierenced something new, after using my phone for quite alot of hours i realised few minutes ago that my information bar is missing. This information (above) is only visible on the lock screen but not on the UI.
I like this very much and i love the ability to work in fullscreen mode.
Perhaps i activated this by accidentily pressing some buttons.
I've made this topic so that the experts on here can inform me what i exactly did and how i can do it again (turn on this feature) in the future.
Its pleasent to work in fullscreen mode.

I only ever came close to a similar situation when I was trying to change some image files in framework-res.apk. Have you tried to apply a theme/mod recently?
Hello everyone,
First of all, I hope this is the right corner and I've collected enough information - I couldn't find anything closely related to my issue.
Now, I've got the first big problem:
Regarding the support of Tablet devices, some apps just don't offer any possibilty to install them. Now, to avoid this problem, I've changed the LCD density to 240dpi.
The Prime is still able to boot normally and everything is working just fine - except for the Launcher: It crashes every 2 seconds and the buttons on the bottom of the screen are cut away just like the one for the app menu in the upper right section so that I've only reached the settings by some tricks so far.
So far, I own my Prime for roughly 1 1/2 months, my Prime is rooted, NOT unlocked and has the most up-to-date firmware installed on it.
Up to now, I tried to factory reset via settings and wipe data with Volume Down + Power button combo.
Apart from that, I think I heard that the dpi settings are to be found in the build.prop file.
Sorry for letting you read this much, but I think this reduces the overall time to spend on it.
I hope that it's possible to get it back working. I miss the Prime experience
Thanks in advance for any help!
Solved!
So, after some hours, I managed to get the Prime back to life by myself:
The build.prop file was the key to success; With some actions in the ADB-Interface and permission changes, it's possible to revert a bad dpi value to default via USB debugging.
If anyone's further interested, I'll try my best to explain how exactly it's working.
I've recently switched from a Galaxy Nexus to an S4 after a couple of years. I really like the S4, but I have a couple of nitpicks and questions, and was wondering if anyone could help out.
First, the bottom buttons annoy me since my Nexus and Nexus 7 are the exact opposite. Is there any way, mod or otherwise, to switch the back and menu buttons?
Is there any way to make the number pad use a normal number tone instead of the water drop noise?
TouchWiz was ok, but it was too restrictive with how I normally use my phone. I switched to Nova Launcher and infinitely prefer it. Does anyone know if the CM10.2 is going to be using the standard Nexus layout? If so, will that fix the above problem as well?
Every time I want to connect my headset, it pops up in the middle of the screen saying paired, and I have to touch it to connect. Is there a way for it to just connect automatically every time?
The boot screens are a little much for me, and the Rom Toolbox said it flashed a new one, but it never happened. Is there a special way this needs to be done?
Finally, I have a battery question, but I went ahead and posted a detailed question about it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2421591
Thanks in advance for your help everyone!
1.you can always find a rom with soft keys available.
2. I believe cm will let you customize.
3.idk about headset
4. Assuming you have recovery, I'd just download a flashable boot screen and flash iy

Do the quick-key mods require full ROMs, or just flashable zips?
