Greetings everyone, im running wanamlite stock 9.5 lpq and its super stable and nice, but I want to test some pure android rom. Can someone tell me how cm9 is working so far on s2? I would flash it but I have exams and can't bother flashing back n forth if not sure its gonna be stable. Thx!

Well I'm on galnet MIUI right now and there's no official ICS build. There's a hybrid build which is basically a framework merge and it's not too bad. They've released an alpha build for MIUI ICS but I wouldn't recommend using that 'cause it's still buggy. Hope this helps. Happy to answer any more questions.
Hi all,
I am still using GS2 stock rom on Gingerbread. I am wondering if I can get a better performance if upgrade to ICS or JB. Any idea?
Any good custom rom that I can use?
Its all personal opinion. I personally believe that ICS and JB are faster and better than gingerbread... try out ICS and CM10 for JB and see if you like either.

I see people say stock rom + siyak kernel / speedmod seem stable.. I am considering do a tradeoff between performance + stable + battery saving.. Any opinion?
Is the below link are good enough for me to do so?
siyak:

speedmod:

Latest stock rom:
I9100ZSLPQ for TGY.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=GT-I9100&pcode=TGY&os=1&type=1#firmware
BTW.. i am still using gingerbread 2.3.3 .. pretty old.. and can drain my battery suddenly by .. wifi sharing.. (bugs?!)
I didnt flash my rom for a long time and become a USER for a year after rooting
OK I recommend using
I9100ZSLPP from that link and siyah 4.1.5. I heard siyah is very stable and good overall but I use dorimanx also search for new siyah thread in original development. The one you linked is old.

Without having to rifle through 1000 threads/posts......can someone tell me if the i9100 is plagued by the same problems as the T989 version of this phone on JB roms having SoDs and RR's?
I currently have the T989 and have yet to find a JB Rom that does not give me RR's.....I have purchased an i9100 for my wife and would like to know if it is worth it to put a JB Rom on it or just stick with ICS.
TIA

I have been using CM9 and CM10 on and off since early birds and have never had a SOD or a RR (whatever an RR is).

I have been using JB roms (RR 3.0.9, Revolt 2.5) for over a month now without any issues. The only problem with AOKP / CM 10 based JB roms is that the phone might start lagging and you might need to restart it. Not all users have faced this problem though. I would highly recommend going with a JB rom

Thanks for the recommendation I will check it out.
Nowhere was I asking a "what is the best" type of question, I was asking if the i9100 suffered from the same Random Reboots and Sleep of Death problems that the T989 suffers from with the CM10 based JB Roms or not....if they do I would stick with an ICS based ROM in the meantime.
Tried looking through a few posts in some of the JB rom threads but it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.....guessing if ppl over here at the i9100 forum are not knowing what an RR is that this phone does not have these issues which is a good thing in my books cuz it's a royal PITA when the phone reboots in the middle of a call .

RR = Random Reboots (as stated in the above reply)
RootBox v2.9 & Dori v7.3 MALI
I am running on revolt 2.5 and it is my favorite JB rom so far. I ve tried others, but always went back to it. But you should definitely put a custom rom on it, as others have said already. I tried going back to ICS roms and it was just smoother in general with JB
Any 4.2 roms worth suggestion, I installed the new un-leaked JB and i lost root leading to safestrap being lost also. I had CM10.1 but i lost the .zip file and CM10.1 appears to be only for the ICS kernel. So back to my main point are there any STABLE, good roms with 4.2, thanks.
try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2162827&page=1 good stable AOKP rom and it has Kexec

Actually I think cm10.1 works now with kexecs too as some bugs were caused by the ics kernel... But my information is only for xt910

CM10.1
I think CM10.1 is a pretty good one. Their are some bugs, like no auto camera flash and gps , but its good for daily use. Also u schould have a look at the PAC ROM.
Max
CM10.1 is a pretty good ROM. It uses kexec. So, no matter if you have installed ICS or JB kernel.
Please visit the development section to find a ROM which fits your needs most.

Can anyone recommend a stable rom for my tab? (p7500)
Ive recently rooted and want a stable rom that will maximise battery life.
Im currently on 4.04 ics. Ideally I would like JB but unsure which one due to all different models of tab and which roms are compatible with my tablet?
Thanks.

If you want jellybean for the 7500 CM10.1 is going to be your best bet right now. That or the Ganbarou ROM. For ICS the Jellybean ROM from Toldo is available, and I think maybe Bindroid has a 3g option...not sure about that one though...
Best thing you can do is try them all and see what works best! Just remember that the filesystem for Android is different on tablets for 4.2 ROMs so make sure you read up about the /0 folder and how to move your files around if you go back and forth. Happy flashing!
