Hi !!
i upgraded to xxlpq using odin few days back and now i m unsure regarding the battery life of the firmware as by night my phone needs recharging , i would describe the usage as moderate with some browsing, music , calling and gaming..
yesterrday i charged the phone to 100 % and in the morning i removed from charger and just used very minimally for around 4 5 hrs.. the BBS showed awake >>> screeen on.. can someone check my files for BBS and kernel wakelock shows some mulipdp and suggest what is should do as no one replied in the better battery stats thread?? awake time on my phone is always much larger than screen on time..
Thanks
Please somebody help me out!! Ive tried differnt threads but no one replies...

You're totally right, there is no topic at all regarding battery issue on SGS2 ...
Who is useless ?
Battery drain its a question of reading the varying fixes and or reasons why and trying them out .
The post regarding Android OS battery drain may help or not .

Yes, this phone has horrific battery drain. I recommend you take it out to the nearest field, strap it to a rocket, and shoot it into the stars as soon as possible.
Or, you can consider using the search button or follow the MANY links the nice gentleman posted above for you.

Lol maybe the battery will drain less in an area with very little gravity.
On a more serious note does anyone know of a list with apps that are safe
To freeze or even remove? I've been looking through the above posts for about an hour and can't find
Squat.
Edit : holy crap I need to open my eyes, its stickied at the top of the general section.

Yea I saw. See my edit. Feel silly now lol.
Just do a factory reset fixed all my problems and my phone came with KE7 installed I didn't upgrade to it.
Battery life went from 10 hours to a day and a half
after lot of tests, i discover that was the calendar sync. In idle mode my phone drain 5-7% per hours without 1% per hour.
After I uninstalled all the useless battery draining system apps, my system doesn't use alot.. like 2-5% , but my screen is getting 50-60% everytime!
I allready tryd different settings, but still, it attacks.
Do someone here have a friend with a SGS2 with good battery life !?
Try to change the battery for 1-2 days and see if its better or not, so we can know if its the battery thats need to be changed!!! report pls !

I doubt EVERYBODY that posts in these forums have a faulty battery. It MUST be software related. So many "faulty batteries" would be a great cause for concern.
from my understanding its 50% user and 50% the version of gingerbread were running.
Im coming from an atrix which has great battery life. A little bit of optimization which the great devs are doing is definitely helping.
Hi guys,
Since the update via ota to xxlpq (polish unbranded phone) my battery life has gotten real bad.
After 1h out of charge in the morning, I'm down to 70%
While on 2.3 I could get two solid days out of the phone.
Any idea why that may, be and what I can do?

Install BetterBatteryStats, let the phone run for 8-10 hrs.
Then go to the BetterBatteryStats thread on here, read the first page & the last 10 pages which will give you an idea of what info you'll need to post in order for the guys who regularly post to thread to maybe help you out/identify wakelocks which might be causing your CPU to get hammered/battery to drain rapidly.
There are many customized rom you developers section...you should try to change... i've tested many ics roms and usually have a very good battery life!!
Hello,
I am facing some severe problems related to my phone's battery (Galaxy S2)
Im on android 2.3.5 .. And my cell's battery last for max. 3 hrs.
Please help me ... Can anyone suggest me some good custom firmware for galaxy S2 ?? Which can give a good battery backup ...
If no firmware, then any solution to it ??
I'm really tired of low battery backup ...
Help please
Suggestions are highly appreciable ..
wow man.. 2.3.5? you need some serious update we can't give you advices on "the best ROM" and etc., you have to find it out yourself because not everybody has the same time usage.. But if you really wanna try something out or just to get you started, you can flash a stock rom with speedmod, i heard that it gives out good battery (but i haven't tried that out cause i'm always on custom roms ) the index of guides*
check my sig about the s2 to get you started
cheers
Oh. My. Goodness.

More information is required. Are you using stock battery? Do you have running apps and/or widgets?

1st: Use CPU Spy too see if your SGS2 goes into Deep Sleep. If yes follow Step 2
2nd: Use Better Battery Stats. Check for Wakelocks.
Hi all, I was trying to post this question directly in the forums but looks like i have not permissions to post on the developers threads since this is my first post :crying:
I have a question about battery duration with the omega rom on my SGS II.
First i flashed version 16.2 and i saw my phone's battery life was not very good (10-12 hrs average). i thought it could be all the things this JB rom can do (like smart stay and all that kind of stuff) so i went back to the Omega ICS v15.1 but same thing with the battery life, i wa doing at least two recharges per day. Then i saw that the omega v17 was released so i decided to give it a try hoping thing will be better.
I alredy did the rescvan media root app thing, disabling sync, and all those tips with no difference.
Am I missing something, does my battery needs to be replaced? (i bouthg the phone like a year ago).
And what is the average normal duration with this ROM?
Thanks in advance!!
(I'm attaching an SS of my battery stats)

Hi I'm in a similar position on a jb ROM also get not many hours 10-15 as u can see nearing 6hrs will probably get some where between 50-60% battery it just feels like it drains fast when I use it and when its on sleep as well. I'm also doing all the tweaks to save battery life changing govenor turning off sync killing apps low brightness etc. Still feels like short battery when phone being used or in sleep. Tried several jb roms. On siyah betav4
Here are some screen shots

I looked at the log (for 5 sec) and noticed that your device is staying awake for more time than it should, why? I dunno, only looked at it for 5 sec.
Post kernel & partial wakelocks since boot screens to spot sh*t in the act.
There's a BBS thread, the guys there will surely look at the log.
