Hi guys, im using the latest litening rom on my galaxy s2 - i didnt really use the stock rom, because ... you know ...
However, i installed it and i was suprising how fast the battery went gone!
Maybe i did something wrong... but i installed the rom over the stock rom as told on the litening thread! the kernel was installed with the rom!
since then ive tried many things and the speedmod kernel. ive also read some posts about the litening rom, about some users having really good battery life!
Am i doing something wrong? did i forget anything? does the kernel do a big diffrence? what baseband should i use?
I am using only Wlan and some games! Ive tried freezing apps flashing other kernels and some other things!
PLEASE HELP ME! i dont know what to do!
You've not given any useful information at all to locate sources of battery drain.

Ok i locatet a problem! a game called 'virtual playground took about 50% life! but i want to know what i can do in general to revent the draining!
i always keep wifi bluetooth and gps off. no backgroundapps and no widgets!
is there a good kernel to use with liteningrom that saves energy? i heard much about the speedmod and nympetamine - or what the hell its called - wich one is better? and does the bandbase effect the battery life in any way?

Stop using the phone if you want the battery to stop draining. If you have, and it still does (rapidly), look into BetterBatteryStats to find what's waking your phone.
Hi !!
i upgraded to xxlpq using odin few days back and now i m unsure regarding the battery life of the firmware as by night my phone needs recharging , i would describe the usage as moderate with some browsing, music , calling and gaming..
yesterrday i charged the phone to 100 % and in the morning i removed from charger and just used very minimally for around 4 5 hrs.. the BBS showed awake >>> screeen on.. can someone check my files for BBS and kernel wakelock shows some mulipdp and suggest what is should do as no one replied in the better battery stats thread?? awake time on my phone is always much larger than screen on time..
Thanks
Please somebody help me out!! Ive tried differnt threads but no one replies...
Be patient in the BBS thread. The guys who frequent that thread are experts, they see this stuff all the time.

Use Betterbattery stats or Gsam Battery Monitor to see what is using the battery or keeping the phone awake.
With out more information people will just be guessing
No its not just you.Theres been several threads about this since its release.
You can revert back to 4.0.3 which will cure that problem.
No need to search,or post in the LS8 thread,or muck around with BBS etc.
"noob ok...lazy noob not ok"
Well, who knows? Maybe search first, because this topic has been discussed way too many times by now.

so....
so what you are saying is that, this is a REAL ISSUE and that samsung must release a fix for this, right???
is this a real posibility , like would Samsung ever consider to realease a FIX for this, did they ever do it in the past in a similar case?
or maybe if were lucky in a year or 2 they will, by then...
No it means some people are having worse battery life then on ICS but I have better batter life than on ICS if you read the other threads about the same topic over the last few days you might see something that helps you improve the battery life. Or install battery stats and see what is using the battery
we...?
Should i Flash back to ICS 4.0.3 with ODIN???
what are your opinions?

Hello and please let me give my personal experience.
I think it is a matter of modem.
It depends on country/carrier.
I had the same problem exactly, I flashed a XXLQ6 modem [even though it is for 4.0.4 firmware - I don't know if I did something dangerous for my phone, I am a newbie], signal is much better and battery lasts longer.
3G - H - H+ : smooth and stable internet browsing with the new modem.
My country is Greece . Carrier is COSMOTE. Stock Samsung XXLS8 firmware. PhilZ-cwm6 - Safe Stock Based Kernel v4.00-b39 from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877270
I hope I was helpful with my 1st post here.
Yes the modem is one of the possible problems you can have and flashing a modem that works better for your area is the best option if the stock one does not work well as you have done.
The OP says nothing is using his battery but yet the battery goes flat so it is not possible to help with that as something is draining the battery else it would not go flat unless the battery is faulty but then it would not last for any ROM.
I use XXLQ6 modem as well
Congrats on the 1st post...
just turn off Google Now and Google localization. it should increase your battery life.
I had drain went to millitant rom, now my battery is better then ics

reads like it come prepacked with philz which is very good... i believe dorimax is also another good one.. BUT by far and the best way to find the best one is to read the thread (from v20 release onwards) and see what everyone else is using, You will get yourself flamed all over the forum for posting threads like this when they fit best in the omega thread. Happy hunting
Battery life doesnt depend solely on the kernel.
The ROM, apps and many other factors have a lot of say in it too.
For the moment, try what comes with the custom rom.
Hey guys. I have been using this site for a while and have just made a new account. I look forward to some helpful chaps
PHONE: GALAXY ACE GT-S5830
I have installed 4 different types of Cyanogenmod (CM 10.1 Pro, etc.) and have found a problem. Even after battery calibration (thank google play ) i have always received severe battery drain. Eg. I would leave my phone on charge overnight. In the morning I would wake up and I could basically watch it go down like a timer. About 2 minutes after unplugging the phone it would have gone down to 81%, even without using the phone!
I know this isn't the ROM's fault since it has happened on numerous ROM's, as I said.
Also, after it reaches about 20% it sometimes slows down the drainage.
I don't get this problem on the stock ROM. I really want to use the stock ROM and UI (TW) cause its got many features, but wanna keep Jellybean cause of BBM for Android coming out soon. If there is any type of ROM which looks just like the original Stock ROM for SGA but with JB installed, could someone please point me in the right direction for it?
Many Regards & looking forward to a ahppy community, HelloMrBrandon. :highfive:
Update: BTW I know I shouldn't post Q&A here. But I couldn't find the right spot for them. Sooooorrryyyyy!
PING!
