[Q] Need help with bricked phone - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hi guys, I have a moto Razr from Rogers, it was the first batch and I was stupid enough to flash it without understand the risk, and I bricked it, it wont start/boot, I was trying to wait for ICS rom to come out and hope to flash with ics rom, but my 3gs just got stolen and I am desperately need a phone and can't afford a new one, any help would be greatly appreciated!
P.S: sorry not able to post image, but heres what it says on the screen when i plug in the charger:
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Boot Failure)
0A.65
Device is LOCKED, Status Code: 0
Battery Low
Cannot Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
Invalid CG HAB (CG: boot, status: 0X0056)

Find the links for RSDLite and the VIVO/RetailBR stock fastboot file from the Android Development section. There are guides showing you how to flash fastboot files using RSDLite as well. After that you should have your razr functioning again.

In case of that "low battery" you will need the factory cable as well...tryto search the forum how to make one...
It will help you...

[Q] Urgent Help: Bricked Droid Razr with Locked Fastboot ... Any Solution?

Before some of you gets upset with me posting the same kind of question, please know that I looked at the forum everywhere plus some other forums and tried almost everything. Here's the summary.
I recently got Droid Razr Asia version and I upgraded to EU Retail rom n rooted it.
There was one problem that I noticed that only bluetooth was not working.
Checked online, and found out that it's the radio mismatch b/w EU and Asia version.
So I downloaded RAZRX rom and was trying to flash it again with bootstrap.
So the process started and in 10 seconds it failed.
So I tried to search other forums ...
at some place i found that ... after Hard Resetting, clearing catche; I am also supposed to format the system.
So I followed the whole procedure, and turns out that again it does not get FLASHED. So I downloaded the ASIA version again and tried to format. It did not work. I tried with EU version, it did not work.
So after getting tired, I tried with RSDLite to flash through PC.
That's when I found out that ...
It detects the phone ... but the phone has no EMEI, software version or any other details. Everything is n/a.
Still I tried, and it said "fastboot installation failed" or somethin like that.
And now my phone is stuck on red motorola logo.
I tried to power off and go to bootloader fastboot ...
and it says "Fastboot Locked ... Press power button to power down."
I tried with the DroidRazrUtility1.4 also ...
But it does not detect the phone.
I tried other few things I found online. But nothing worked.
I also drained the battery by keeping it aside to see if the fastboot gets unlocked, but it didn't work.
However, I haven't removed the battery yet. Cause I do not have the tools.
Please can somebody tell me step by step approach how to do this?
Because I haven't found out where I am going wrong in the given methods. and btw, I have followed everything exactly step by step.
Really appreciate any kind of help.
Thank you very much.
Try to flash with RSD Alternative

But will it still work if my AP FATBOOT mode says that "Device is Locked"
And the battery is on low?

Probably not. I read on one of the forums there might be a way around the battery being low. I think it was here in xda. Do a search for fast boot install or battery, something like that. If you find that doesn't work you would have to make the tbh cable which allows power to the phone without a battery, or in your case a near dead battery.
Sent from my Droid Razr using Tapatalk
"Device is locked" is natural, (almost) all of our bootloaders are locked. Nothing to do with flashing official ROMs.
You'll need to make a factory cable if the battery is low, search the development forum for a guide.

Here is where u can find full 2.3.6 Asian fastboot file, so you can use rsd for flashing 2.3.6 but for flashing 2.3.5 you have to use Alternative rsd because of bl version

[Q] Rogers Canada XT910 RSD Help

Hi there, as in the title I have a Rogers XT910 here in Canada. I wanted to bring it back to stock and using the utility in the screenshot "01" got the errors shown.
After that failed my phone only goes into Fastboot mode with the following:
Invalid Flash Mode (S) (Boot Failure)
0A.6C
To return to normal mode - first press power key to power down
Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 0
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
Invalid CG OTV (CG: system): Invalid SP Data
Invalid CG HAB (CG: system, status: 0x0056)
Invalid CG OTV (CG: system)
I then used RSD Lite 5.6 and the Vivo Brazil file show in screenshot "02" (from everything I've read that is the one to use for my phone).
In screenshot "03" is the error it gives me. It goes though progress 5/20 fine then errors out on 6/20.
Now when I turn the phone on it still goes into Fastboot mode but without the errors I just get:
AP Fastboot Mode (S)
0A.66
Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 0
Battery OK
OK to Program
Transfer Mode:
USB Connected
That's it I'm stuck! Any ideas?
I had a problem like this, had to manually fastboot flash everything, it worked but i believe kholk made a script that does the manual process for you. Should be development section, at work now this is all i can muster. I will check back later.

Unzip vivo files into folder of this tool:

It will bypass .xml signature verification and may flash it right.

you cannot bring this phone back to stock
Alright I am half way there!
pedrotorresfilho and drolgnir you were right, the script you pointed me to worked when everything else seemed to fail. I got the Brazil firmware up and running and my phone works again. It looks different but that is to be expected. Thank you so much for helping me to get it going again.
While I was searching around for answers last night I ran across a post somewhere in which a person did a nandroid backup of their Stock Rogers Canada RAZR - my very phone! I would like to use their nandriod backup on my phone and I assume that will restore it to it's stock condition. They were kind enough to post a link and I d/l their Nandroid. The problem is I have no idea what to do with it. I am good at computers but this is my first Smartphone and am just learning all the ins and outs.
Attached is a screen of the stock Rogers I want to put on my phone, how do I get it on there?
Thanks again!

It won't be stock. Once you flash another fastboot file you're screwed. And Brazil is the only one that'll work because there is no Rogers/fido fastboot file.so, ota updates won't install even if you install a Rogers nandroid because you just flashed that Brazil fastboot.
Shoulda never tampered with the phone...
Fair enough gunness1991 but my phone was stuck in a loop and wouldn't boot so I had to do something ...
Moving forward, it won't let me ask a question in the original bootstrap thread because I have less then 10 posts so I'll ask it here.
I am not understanding how to use the "RazrBootstrap.apk" zip file that is linked here and a few other places I have seen. Everyone I have d/l is a .zip file and when extracted gives me what is shown in the screenshot. How do I use that? Every other .apk file I have used is a single file with the .apk extension and I just open it using a file manager. What am I missing, how do I install it?
You need to flash it to the phone
Sent from my XT910 using XDA
check this thread for the bootstrap cwm, that gets you started for being able to flash yours or another nandroid.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347767
Pedro's post it's pretty much the same thing but with more options via jy daddy. Sorry for repeat info.
The bootstrap is just a apk you can dump on your sdcard, install and open the app by opening it with a file manager on your phone. This is third party stuff? so you may need "unknown sources" checked in settings/applications. Plus be rooted.
Sent from my XT910 using XDA
Well I figured it out after pulling my hair out! I was using Opera to download the .apk file and for some reason it was saving it as a zip file and associating it with Winrar. I naturally assumed it was a zip file. I d/l it with firefox and all is well, got CWM installed and am trying to restore the backup now.

[Q] AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Flash Failure)

Hi people,
well, i did something stupid and now everytime i turn on my razr i see the screen down below.
I can use the menu to go to normal boot and use the phone without other incoveniences, but, obviously, i would like to fix it.
I have seen some similar threads but couldn't understand how to fix it.
I'm now on ICS 4.0.4 (Stock,Brasil) and got here from GB.
I believe the problem happened when i was trying to install the china or europe versions, but i can't remember the script i was following (yes pretty stupid, i know).
may someone please give me some light.
Thank you all.

Stuck in Invalid Flash Mode

Hi guys,
So I have a problem with my friends Razr Maxx on Verizon... she hated ICS and wanted GB back on her phone... I rooted the phone just fine and was going to flash the GB sbf (2.3.6) that I found on here. During the process in RSD Lite I got a failure(dont remember what exactly it said though
). Now her phone is softbricked, and when I try to go to "tools" in fastboot menu the red M blinks then it brings me right back to this screen:
"Invalid Flash Mode (s) (Boot Failure)
0A.6C
To return to normal mode - first press power key to power down
Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 0
Battery Low
Cannot program
Connect USB
Data Cable
Invalid CG OTV (CG: system): Invalid SP data
Invalid CG Version (CG: system)
Invalid CG OTV (CG: system)"
If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this problem I would appricate it, my friend is freaking out because she doesnt want to lose the limited edition employee Razr Maxx
First, try to charge the phone by plug in to wallcharger or search this forum for "low battery" solutions.
Then you would try the Matt's tools here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1769345
That tool will restore ur friend phone to stock ICS.
As i know becoz bootloader is locked we can not go back to GB once already on ICS.
Good luck!

imho, you have to have a working /system to charge the battery without booting.
You could try to solder a microUSB to make a Motorola Factory cable. This cable will ignore the low battery problem.

Am I going to need this factory cable, to get the fastboot mode to complete the programming using
Matts tool option 1 and HOPEFULLY if that gets me back to stock rom, then I can finally charge up my Maxx using my
regular charger .... correct?

Glad i didnt have to start a thread on this as you have already. I have the same issue, the phone wont take a charge when its in fastboot or otherwise without being able to boot up. So you cant use the droid razr utility to flash back to stock. The utility requires that you to put the phone in fastboot mode and fastboot requires a battery to be charged above a certain level. Any suggestions. ?? I'm suprised their aren't more people replying to this thread, but it is a legacy device so that probably has something to do with it.
Unfortunately, the droid razr battery doesn't come out too easily or you could buy an external charging dock. I tried to take the back off mine and not only was it glued on and just about ripped the back cover in half getting it out, I couldnt see a way to get the battery out without damaging something. there is a very fragile ribbon cable located at the bottom of the battery and Im sure if you rip that it will be a paperweight from then on. On to the next phone.
I dunno how but my xt 925 went from low battery to battery Ok several times while in fastboot. Maybe that's just the xt925.

Factory cable is the solution
Hey man, You can reflash your firmware by using factory cable. You can make one on your own.
You can search "how to make factory cable" ... They're not so complicate if you have welding gun.
But the easiest way is use a small piece of electric wire , bend it to shape "U" , then try to connect point "1" with point "4" by the "U".
Sorry for my bad English. You can refer to below video.:
youtube .com watch?v=rH2MXnKdoMA
just need to use a small piece of electric wire.
Best and fastest way ist to simply open the phone on the back and connect the red and the black cable from usb to the battery's + and -. Leave cables attached while flashing rsd.
It leaves absolutely no visible marks on the phone if you use a guitar pick to open the razr (check youtube for tutorial).
Hey! Just disassambled the external case (search a video on YouTube) and cut a mini USB cable. You need to use the black and red cable. The red one is the positive and the black one is the negative. Put them under the respectives screws and conect the point of the USB in the charger and then to the wall. Then, connect your phone in the USB port and conect it to the wall. After that, put the AP Fastboot and use RSD Lite to recover your phone
You don't have to open the phone, just make a factory cable and flash the rom with Rsd.
