I flashed AOKP and CM9 and noticed when going to the settings and changing the mDNIE Scenario the screen loses anti-aliasing or at least everything gets sharpened ( images and text ). It's especially obvious when you look at the diagonal line pattern of the drop down notification bar.
AOKP has a second menu, it's own menu option to change colors but unfortunately there isn't a kernel yet that supports it ( or a combination of the ported AOKP not completely working on I777 ).
I was curious if there's a work around or will I simply have to wait until CM9 / AOKP solves this problem.
My I777 is tinted blue so I would like to be able to correct this by making it warmer. I used Chainfire3D when I was still on GB but unfortunately Chainfire3D doesn't work with ICS.
Thank you.

So I made this thread to get some feedback and stories from other people of their experiences with the ROM Toolbox app on the Samsung galaxy player 5.0/4.0 U.S. and International version. How have your experiences been? For me pretty much the app is useless because if you try to change anything it will throw you straight into a bootlopp. So before you use it remember to do a back up on you clock work mod recovery Anyway what have your experiences with the app been and what do you think of it?
On my 5.0 US using the GenericGinger rom, it doesn't cause any problems. Custom boot animations don't work on the default settings from stock, but are perfect on Entropy's kernel. You can change icons, but they don't always work correctly - I changed the battery icon to one with numbers, but now it only shows 20% increments (the icon supports 1%0). The build.prop tweaks do work - the DPI is quite handy, and it successfully blocks ads. However, some parts of the themng do not work - I have tried multiple notification backgrounds with no effect. I think it's well worth getting.
As a side note, are you running a deodexed rom? If not that may be your problem.

Yeah I'm using 2 roms actually one is Ergybits 2.3.6 based custom rom with and the other is tsnuras cm9 aokp rom. At this moment i am using the cm9 based rom, but when i was using the ergybit rom, it would always put me in a bootloop whenever I tried to change anything, i havent tried it on this one, because cm9 is pretty much customizable in every aspect so the need has gone away, but it didnt seem very useful to me. Concerning the custom boot animations, I heard that a lot of people had been having trouble with them at that in worst case scenarios it even bricked some peoples devices, so i didn't even try going near that.
Hello! i would like to know if there is a way to get the true 32bit colours of our screen with samsung based roms..
in cyanogenmod you can do this simply by leaving the "16bit transparency" box unchecked and VOILA , no more banding and screen looks much more clear and pleasant!
I searched but found no way to do that on a sammy rom..

Evervolv flashed without any difficulty for me yesterday. I've yet to discover any problems with this rom. I also used Rascarlo's gapps to minimize the Google apps installation package. Adobe flash is also working without problems for my NWS radar site. This ROM will probably become my daily driver until my favorite ROM and kernel package is available and tested.... :good:
BTW, I now show 1.6gb of ram under Settings/Apps/Running... .
Official CM10.1 is working great! It seems to run smoother since 4.2.2 for me. Used the gapps from Banks.

Yeah, latest nightly seems to be working well for me. (17th)
I'm running the latest version of Jellybro, no issues so far.
Running latest CM10.1 which pretty stable and solid for me.
AOKP (2/17) on 4.2.2 also seems stable so far...
Finally decide abandon CM 10.1
Now running Unofficial AOKP 4.2.2, 1st time running AOKP, never know it was that cool! It has more customization to do.
- Better customize function in AOKP v/s CM 10.1:
- Switching between PHONE / TABLET /PHABLET UI Mode!
- Set transparency level, height & color Navigation Bar.
- Transparency level for Notification Bar.
- Layout changes for Statusbar Toggles.
- Clock position switch.
- LED light changes
- Custom Boot Animation. (Pre-loaded with stock animation)
So far AOKP was running stable as well.

I just got mine last night as well, going to try AOKP tonight.
I have ran several Linaro kernel/ROMS on my Nexus 7 and its not the magic speed bullet you might expect it to be. Maybe 2-3 % faster.

Have you had any problem with the navigation bars disappearing in portrait mode?
I tried AOKP a month ago and ran into an issue where the navigation bar buttons disappeared whenever I turned my device into a portrait orientation. Since then, I have been running Cyanogenmod nightlies and have been pleasantly surprised how reliable they are despite the moniker "nightly."

I believe latest build fixed it. Never encounter such issue.

I was just playing around with AOKP. It's improved leaps and bounds since I last tried it. I really like the Tablet UI feature. I might switch ROMs when I have more time to play around/migrate settings.
(And no, I didn't run into the buttons disappearing in portrait mode.)
It's back to CM 10.1 for the time being...
hello
I use 4.1.2 omega rom and I used 4.2.2 aokp rom and had +have same problem
while in a dark place lets say I want to photo my tv while its on I get lots of vertical black lines- its not black but like an old tv style crt effect
one day it was gone iwthout flashing any rom and now its back
does anyone knows whats the prblem ? hardware thingy ?
since it happened in omega 43.3 which is stable and stockish
when there is low light it occurs naturally on any phone. when coming to tv, it's refresh rate doesn't always sync with the refresh rate on the phone.
so its normal ?
I thought it might be the answer but it was a bit strange since one time it didnt do that and on other times it did
How can i change colors and/or contrast to default settings?
On default kernel colors are much different then on dorimanx kernel. I can even notice a change while bootin. They are so ugly :C. f.e. Gradient on setting's background is ragged and colors are "too much colorful". Sreenshot on my pc's monitor looks normal.
im on bam-rom kitkat with dorimanx beta (color change was on other roms and older dorimanx kernels so i dont think its sth important but)
i have made some "preview" in gimp effect is "overmuch"
(on right how it looks on dorimanx on left how it used to be(its screenshot made on dorimanix but as i said it looks strange only on my phone))
Yes dorimanx has this issue.
I was also trying to find a solution to this when I was using it but then I switched rom and kernel for moving over to kitkat.
So u just suggest to change kernel? is there some way to "fix" it?
i think i will change but well i have no clue which kernel will be the best for kitkat. I guess i will have to test some.

Well, if the bam rom is having those mdnie settings that the stock rom used to have then you can set it "Natural".
It used to be there in Settings>Advanced>Screen.
Then in Stweaks you can uncheck "lcd power reduce" in the screen tab and also you can adjust the red and blue color scales to something around 132.
