Netherland, WW firmware downloading now... For once, it seems everybody gets to play with the new firmware at the same time...

Strange, update failed twice nice. Maybe I should unroot before attempting to update ...
EDIT: Unrooted and update is still failing, anyone know what is going on?

Have you changed or deleted any system files? If so that would cause it to fail. You need an unaltered system in order to update.

Damn ... I deleted some demos like the downloader for the glowball and is downloading the update only meant to take about 2 minutes?

Voodoo rootkeeper worked for me

Mine took about 5. Could be connection dependent.

I only thought that deleting G+ for example would give you trouble updating?
I also don't like the fact that the system updater doesn't give you any clue about what went wrong.
I'll just skip this update, my tablet works fine as it is.

Had notification for firmware update!

Hi guys,
yesterday i watched a movie before going to bed, so after i finished watching i saw a little triangle with an exclamation mark in the notification area.
I thought yeah i deal with that tomorrow, put my prime on the charger and went to bed. Now i clicked on it but nothing happened. If i go to check for new updates in the settings he tells me nothing available.
Happened to anyone else? Bug in the matrix? Or is this an indication that the next update is coming soon?
Yeah, got mines pushed last Friday. Didnt update yet, waiting to see if it breaks root.

Relief of what?
I hope there is an update to loose .15 which made my Prime unusable when on the keyboard dock!

Use Voodoo Root Keeper from the market. Was able to restore my root with one click when I got the .15 update. Didn't check for an update today yet.

Hulu+ is now supported on Prime

Don't know if anyone has posted this yet. I just checked for it a couple days ago and it is now supported on the Prime. Enjoy!

You probably installed or un installed something from the system folder. Ota usually check that all the correct Components are available before an updated can be installdd .

I get the same thing on mine. Haven't figured out why this happens to some of us, and not others. Could it have to do with being boot loader unlocked? I don't really see how, but it's very annoying.

Bootloader may be the culprit...
Anyone with an unlocked bootloader able to get hulu running?

no I get the same error message with unlocked bootloader. One thing to try woulkd maybe be this: On aokp, if you use ota keeper to temp unroot, you are able to watch movies from google for an unknown reason. Maybe this works for hulu. I would try it but I am happily running virtous right now...

On .21 rooted only. I get device not supported. Even tried to temp unroot with OTA rootkeeper but no go.
Maybe try turning of "Force GPU rendering?"
Also have you tried completely uninstalling the apk through TB? I hear it's suppose to delete everything and not leave a trace of the app. Then reinstall. Maybe also make sure your Flash is up to date.

Just rooted yesterday. Just worried cuz there is no unroot method to date. If there is an update, we may not be able to take it. Is it true that it might brick our rooted phone if we take an update?

I had problems restoring saved WiFi access point data on my Nexus S when going from Gingerbread to ICS. If you're up to the challenge, you can easily open the backup in a text editor. If you hadn't set the backups to be encrypted that is.
Then on the GS3, with WiFi off, copy and paste the values into the following file:
/data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf
You can use Root Explorer or something similar. If you run into any issues, just go ahead and delete the file. It'll get recreated automatically on reboot. Good luck!

I havent but its only because I really dont see a reason to at this point. As soon as there are some nice custom ROMs, Ill be hanging in the dev section as well. I just dont see the need to root for the sake of having root at this point.
Did mine on Sat. It is nice to be able to remove a bunch of the bloatware.

[Q] A new software update is available

So this morning the Easter bunny left me a present... My AT&T LGOG says software update available. Does anyone know if the bunny dropped off Jellybeans or just another egg?
I was trying to get a screenshot of the useless message, but the update tried to install and the phone rebooted. Then the firmware update screen reported a failure. After reboot my phone still works on ICS. I'm going to take a backup now and be safe as long as the update doesn't update recovery/bootloader...
Turns out my screenshot worked after all.

Yes. Can you re-root it?
I'm on stock & rooted. Not unlocked.
Update notification went off this morning; read some of this thread; told it to let me know again in 8hrs.
Just went off again, I said ok, whatever, told it to update. It rebooted, & now it's just sitting there at the white, "rethink possible" screen.
Key combo reboot actually got it into the "software update" screen, but that then error'd at 1% complete. Error was something like, "01X03fed." It disappeared too quickly while I was typing this. Rebooted again, fully this time, and a, "Installation interrupted" warning is showing.
Hopefully the update notification will be gone, too...
