Hello!
I have a question for you about this phone. Well, I would buy this phone but in a shop which sells it, this phone has a flaw ..
The problem is that the screen is not showing, but reacts to the touch and turns, plays the sound.
Since the seller is not found out whether it displays the "image", which means the brick ..
I am an Xperii X8 but I would like to purchase Vibrant is why I ask you about it because I do not Wem or not you will need to replace the digitizer and now in my country there is no (Poland) ..

Hi
Thinking of getting a Galaxy S2, it will probably be simlocked as these are slightly cheaper and can be unlocked for free (?). I was wondering if anyone knew if any of the major UK networks (O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone) have branding on the phones themselves? I heard Orange might have a small logo on the back of the phone? Do they all pretty much have logo branding on bootup, but this can be easily removed by flashing a stock ROM?
Is rooting and unlocking via the app still working/doable?
Also whats the deal with 3 (three) network phones? Can they be unlocked easily and used with any simcard? (I'm going to use giffgaff - 02 network)
Thanks
dont get it mate whait for SG3 or galaxy note will be out at buymobilephones dot net soon
The phone is basically the same as the new flagship android in the galaxy nexus, the only difference is that that phone has a 720p screen (though it uses the pentile matrix system) bar that theres not much difference between the two phones, therefore you should get it, as since its been out 6 months its 450 off contract, while the nexus is 550 off contract.
Yes theres an app to sim unlock it, and yes rooting is very easy, where you can install either a custom rom or a stock rom, whatever floats your boat. So my advice is get the best carrier that is either cheapest, or gives you best service in your area.
I bought mine last week off contract for 450 from phones4U, they all come sim unlocked anyway from there.
I got mine on orange, it came with an orange logo little square on the back. And with orange software (unremovable without flashing stock using Odin). I was scared to flash a new and expensive phone, but now I'm happy without ****ty orange maps and orange all over my Internet browser etc.
Also like the other guy said, wait til the galaxy nexus comes out next month-the s2 might drop by a few quid. Galaxy note is way too big IMO.
got mine from T-mobile. No logos on the phone (white sg2). Had a few apps from t-mobile but I've rooted quite easily
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

I'm stretching my budget with the S2, the S3 will be 2012 and will likely be 500+. I'm looking at around £320 off ebay for a S2. I was going to get an Ace, then S1, then saw that a S2 was only around the £300 mark so decided on getting it.
May wait a while, not sure, but doubt they will get much cheaper than £310?
Talkmobile
Have a look online with talkmobile they us the o2 network and at one time had the cheapest SGS2 on a 12month contract and their handsets are not locked.
Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone would be able to help me with my question/problem. I'm kind of new to this site, so please excuse me if I seem noobish. I tried looking everywhere in the forums for something similar to my predicament, but I didn't find anything. Either that, or I didn't look very well.
Anyways, I'll try to be as brief as possible. I bought a broken Samsung Galaxy S2 with a cracked screen and broken digitizer for $100. My plan was to swap out everything with replacement parts, but when I took it apart to check the model number (because I noticed some differences from my i9100) I found out that it was the Korean-type S2. The model number is SHW-M250S. I looked everywhere on Ebay and Amazon for the lcd screen and digitizer for this exact model, and nothing came up except the regular i9100 lcd+digitizer replacements. Link below:
http://www.amazon.com/Display-Digiti...7&sr=1-1owever
I did check on Amazon, and the closest thing I was able to find for the shw-m250s model are these items that are in the link below. Other than the lcd screen and digitizer, it also comes with a brand new housing and other parts I don't need. Which is just making it more expensive. Link below:
http://www.amazon.com/Touchscreen-Di...6418770&sr=1-3
My question is, can I use a regular i9100 lcd screen and digitizer replacement part for my SHW-M250S model, or at least use the (SHW-M250L) model part that I found on Amazon? The SHW-M250L parts look very similar to the one that I have. (That "L" could be a typo) If not, can someone send me a link to a site or place where I can buy ONLY the lcd screen and digitizer part for my exact model?
Thanks a lot in advance.

The "L" supports CDMA, which you do not have, but my guess is they should all work, since they use the same screen. I could be wrong, though.
I would buy the international and if it doesn't work for your model - resell it. You can also try asking in the monster SHW-M250S thread.
By my guess, I think it should still be compatible because I doubt the screens have any major differences whether its a CDMA or GSM version. Neither do they affect the phones GSM or CDMA ability itself.

My Galaxy 10.1 tab has suffered from the 'newton ring' screen defect for a while now (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130230 if you don't have long memories) but it wasn't too bad so I never got around to getting it fixed. Anyway, I had to take my phone into a Samsung service centre recently so I thought I'd get the tab done at the same time.
It's still within 2 years from purchase, but was bought in the USA so I was kinda expecting the warranty question to get raised. Nope, they took it fine, HOWEVER they now say that they can't repair it at all as they can't get the appropriate parts because the USA and UK models have different screens and they can't put a UK part into a US model. After a bit of further questioning they also said "and the software is different too", which is quite true but completely irrelevant to a pure hardware defect (and a known one at that).
Before I go and pick it up, could one of the experts here tell me if the physical screen and/or digitiser are any different between the original USA Galaxy TAB 10.1 (Wi-Fi only) and the original UK variant? I thought they were all made with the same generic parts in the same factories? Any part numbers or reference sources would be very helpful too. Thanks!
Andre
I have a UK tablet and i've never heard about different components lol.. I don't think there's a difference between the tabs, it's not that we have a different ROM that we also have different components, i came from android 2.3 UK and running cm10.1 now with a US bootloader on a UK device, problems, samsung?
Anyway,, i never suffered from those newton rings, i remember the link you posted, but i will not laugh too loud my tab is 1 year and 1 month old now
Thanks, that's very much my opinion too from everything I've ever read about this defect, the screen and digitiser are common components between the US and UK models.
If anyone can give me any more info or hard facts (e.g. do Samsung USA and Samsung UK have a spare parts website where I can compare part numbers?) that would help before I go back into the service centre around noon today. Thanks!
Andre
Hi everyone !
I'm new here, but i always read topics about everything and i know that u guys maybe can help me.
So let's go.
I bought my Lg g5 about 5 months ago, and after 1 months with, i dropped my cell in floor, results ? broken glass, but touch and screen still working. After one week, i dropped cell into the watter (pool), quickly jump out of the pool and get out battery, after one day in rice i turn it on and touch screen doesn't working , i thought the problem is in display, so i bought the national model display (from Brazil H840) and replace it (but i'm from Brazil, and my model of Lg g5 is H860, from hong kong) and touch still not working. Some guys tell me if i bought the exact model(H860), my touch will work. So, i did that, i'm just waiting package arrive and test. Remember: Deoxidation already done by technician. I wanna know from you if this advice proceeds, because they tell me about that flat of differents model and there is a chance to exist a incompatibility, and there is my focus of the all problem, excluiding board problem.

The H840 is a completely different phone also known as the LG G5 SE (different hardware) this is why the screen cannot work with your model.
Any screen for the LG G5 (H850 H830 etc) should work for any carrier or international version of the phone.
If the screen and digitiser don't work with this version then you could have a more serious hardware problem.
