In Cyanogen Mod settings under lockscreen, my brother disabled the slide to unlock feature, so when I try to unlock the phone I see the lockscreen, but there is no type of slider at all on the lockscreen. Is there anyway to bypass the lockscreen without having to do a factory reset/data wipe?? Thanks
Well out of 4 settings for lockscreen, he would have had to enable one to disable the other. Is there absolutely nothing showing on your lockscreen? Like a circle or something?

When he had disabled it, he selected trackball to replace unlock slider, but the LG thrill doesn't have a trackball

Download the CyanogenMod ROM zip again, take out and reinsert your phone battery, boot into recovery, make a nandroid backup, connect the phone to a computer and choose 'toggle USB storage', transfer the CyanogenMod zip file to SD card, install CyanogenMod again. Now see if the lockscreen is back to normal. If not, you'll have to boot back into recovery, wipe data cache & system and install CyanogenMod. This will be a fresh install, after you install it download Titanium backup from Play Store, and choose the option to restore data from nandroid backup. You can selectively restore apps and data instead of restoring the whole thing, which will reactivate the previous lockscreen setting.
Note: Your data will be safe in the nandroid backup, so worst case you can just restore it and go back to the way your phone is now and look for another solution.

I didn't know that titanium backup could restore from nandroid backups. Thanks for the info. He's up and running again.

Hi. I am having problems with my Galaxy S2. I don't remember the screen pin!
I have done a hard reset, wiped the phone and cacheand even re-flashed the ROM (I'm using Villain 2.5). When I start the phone it goes to the normal first time setup screens, I sync it with my google account etc but as soon as I leave it for a few mins it asks me for the screen lock pin again!!!
I reset it again and this time tried to turn off the screen lock via the settings but to do this it needs the old pin, which I don't remember! Please help!
Ensure backup data is not selected in the Privacy settings. Otherwise google will restore the lock after it syncs.

No it isn't. I even tried making a new google account after i wiped the phone and that didn't work either! I can't use my phone now grrrr!!!
try a reflash using odin maybe?
yeah i tried that too using villians 1.0 rom
Did you full wipe all the partitions prior to re-flashing?
Also google leaves some files on your sdcard or ext sdcard. Delete those too, even fresh format to make sure. I think they are android secure & lost. After first boot, as before, ensure backup data & restore is unchecked in privacy.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Yeah I set it to USB mode and deleted every file on it and formatted the memory card. Still no luck
How about full wipe, reflash, boot (no google account setup), uncheck all google privacy settings, reboot, if no lock pin, then setup google and sync......and see what happens.
Make sure you don't restore system data from Titanium (ie accounts). Wifi should be safe.

Given that a go and....it is still asking for the pin! It starts up fine after a flash and a wipe but then as soon as it goes to standby it asks for the pin again! If I wip it again and don't let it go to standby and go to the screen pin in the settings menu it still asks me to confirm the pin before I can turn it off
Pin is stored in efs. If you have a backup of your efs you could try phone efs clear in odin. But then you have to restore your efs map.
DO NOT TRY THIS IF YOU DONT HAVE A BACKUP OF YOUR EFS MAP, YOU WILL LOSE YOUR IMEI
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
I've just dl "GSII_Repair" free from market and backed up the efs folder to sdcard. I've also copied it to pc and ext sdcard as well, safe keeping. The dev says can repair as well, but no comments as yet.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
What would happen if I lose my imei? I will do a search now to find out how to make a backup of my efs
Ive been away on holiday without my Galaxy as i still couldnt get it working. I tried the efs clear and still no luck it still asks for the password!
Any ideas? Surely someone else has forgotten their screen pin before?!
As its been a while and you still have no joy.....
Flash all back to stock, reset counter with usb jig, and drop it into a service centre.
Sorry can't come up with anything else, because if you screw up the efs, you could be in a world of further hurt.
Just remember to back it up next time. Sorry

hey there, every time i reboot my phone, half my homepage icons disappear. They are still in the main app windows and i can copy them back to the home page until next reboot.
the phone is a roots stock S2. i think it started after i ran a batch "move to sd" on all apps in titanium backup pro - i suspect this maybe the cause but what's the fix?
thanks

Move them back to internal storage.
Reboot and clear cache and advanced/dalvik in CWM Recovery.
Done

sounds easy (ish) except i don't know which ones to move back! Do you know _why_ it is happening?

If you use Titanium backup again & use the batch operation to move back (all!) your user apps to internal memory, this should resolve your missing icons problem!
As post above, but you can choose to select which app to move.
Any widget or shortcut etc stored on your sdcard will not run on boot as it's a different partition and some apps are not written to do so.
So just select (check/uncheck) those to move back (or all of them) and then recreate the shortcut after.
1. Batch / move user apps to internal memory / select apps / run
2. Maybe reboot and wipe cache and Dalvik in recovery.
3. Setup shortcuts etc

I created a backup because I wanted to try a mod ,I didn't like the mod because it messed up the system UI.
So I tried to restore the backup however I ended up with the Samsung logo flashing?
I advanced restored the boot image and the phone started but all my apps were force closing , then I tried the full restore however the /data section wouldn't restore because it was corrupted
what's my best option? I've currently decided to boot to the nandroid menu and go on wipe data/factory reset , the phone has restored and I'm restoring using Titanium Backup. This will bring back my user apps I think?. But is there any way to restore wifi passwords and bookmarks and calendar appointments?
Hope this makes sense and thanks in advance
I am pretty sure that by signing into your Google account it should restore your WiFi passwords and bookmarks automatically

Before flashing anything.. go to recovery wipe cache and dalvik cache, when done "fix permissions" ,this option is located in advanced menu in recovery. Now reboot.
Use "titanium backup" to backup BT WIFI and other settings.
Ps. Don't restore system apps, only the app data if absolutely necessary.

I agree with zodiaxe66's suggestion always try something like this before you just go flashing away.

I've used Mobile Odin to flash the stock LFB .I've done this before perfectly.
But this time once I load the file the:
Kernel,Recovery,System,Cache, Modem and Hidden are filled in
Param and Data are clear.
And I tick:
Enable everroot .Inject SU ,Inject Mobile Odin.
And I select
Wipe data and Cache
Wipe Dalvik Cache.
Then I select flash firmware.
the mobile Odin screen pops up and it shows the progress when it flashes the
kernel recovery system hidden
and wipes the dalvik cache
However the Message App still force closes!
could somebody please help me out ? I'm getting proper stressed now

Clean Slate for those that balls up the firmware .Or need to return to service or decide if its hardware/firmware problem .
Backup data first if phone is working .
Boot CWM recovery
Mounts and Storage
Format cache data system sd card .
Remove battery
Boot to download mode
Open Odin
Install correct stock firmware .
jje
Did u download the additional file beside the app itself. Either from mobile Odin thread or if bought it from market, then turn on wifi and open Odin again and u be asked to download additional file.
remember to grant superuser permission.
Update from the idiot, partial success achieved .
I ended up flashing the stock rom using odin on the desktop then I flashed CWM recovery rooted supersu etc
Then I started the phone, memory card is intact, however phone memory was wiped. Luckily my titanium folder is on the memory card. So luckily I was able to restore the apps and data. No force closes now
The stuff I lost on the internal memory was music (now restored) camera pics (most restored thanks to dropbox) ringtones and bookmarks.
However I have much more free internal memory than before, so I was wondering whether I could be missing an important folder or something than may cause issue with apps or is there anything important I might have lost?
Thanks once again for helping an idiot out

No your probably not missing anything
Important in fact when your phones internal storage was wiped it very likely got rid of the traces of any file that could cause problems.

Thanks, on Titanium Backup it shows my system apps and a few have green text, such as bookmarks, wallpapers, phone book. Is there any way to only back these up and not all the system apps?

I think if you long press on the options that are green it should bring up a list of options such as backup, restore, etc. try that and see what happens.

Yes if you have the pro version of titanium backup you can schedule an automated backup that backs up to dropbox or Google drive I believe.

Hello, I'm using a HTC HD2 with ICS and was running low on internal memory. With Titanium backup i attempted to convert Trebuchet 0.1 to a user app and move it to SD card. Now when i switch the phone on it just hangs on the startup animation. I can't access anything, although it can still receive calls. How would I restore it factory default?
Please tell me you have a spare launcher installed...
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Xparent SkyBlue Tapatalk 2
I suppose that if you have forgot USB debugging checked, then you can try to install another launcher via ADB.
Before I install a new ROM I always do a back up in recovery before I install the new ROM. Then I wipe everything before flashing the new ROM. Then I install the ROM. Then I do a restore of only the data from my back up. This reinstalls all of my apps and all of my account data. When I restore I simply uncheck boot and system and let the restore only be the data from my back up. This is a fast easy way rather than using titanium back up or similar. I'm not sure if this can be done going from sense to aosp. But I don't see why it would be a problem. Hope this helps some of you out there. I always wipe dalvik and cache between everything I do.

From all I've ever read, yes, it would be a problem going from sense to AOSP, but I must admit I've never personally tried. I guess it (this method) wouldn't try to restore any sense apps, as they would be on the system/app partition, not /data.
From my Evo LTE, yup.
Depends, if it just restores data than I think not? Then again if your only trying to restore apps that be on data/app hmm. Test and find out? I wanna know! And stuck deep in the south horrid 3g and no additional rims in storage.
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
Honestly the best way to restore accounts apps and data is to do a back-up then after you flash your new rom is to restore data from your back up with twrp. Then everything is done. Just uncheck boot and system from your back up. Very fast and simple. This can be done from sense to sense. And aosp to aosp or aokp.

If you mean system data then I've tried that coming from AOKP back to sense and it'll say "a reboot is required for changes to take affect" but it'll send you into a boot loop. Believe me I've hardbricked 2 EvoLTEs
