check in the settings and make sure proximity sensor is turned ON

proximity sensor automatically locks the screen the moment you take the phone close to your ear

Shouldn't it act only on LCD? How should it take effect also on phone speaker? Actually I had the same problem in the past week, after I flashed GingerReal 1.1.0 and proximity sensor was turned on though...
I'm pretty sure you have Go SMS Pro installed, since the same thing happened to me! That is a bug. You should update to the latest current version or uninstall it.

HELP !! ray's vibration has stopped working

My ray's vibration has stopped working ,is there a bug or known problem about this situation ???
Are you on a custom rom ?
Which ROM have you installed? If it is one of the FXP ones and vibration is working when you turn the phone on, just restore to factory settings and it should be alright. If vibration isn't working when you are turning on the phone, then the nearest Sony service station is your best buddy for the days ahead
Try vibrations in the test menu.
no im on stock ics rom
Do a test using the Service Menu.
Launch Phone Dialer, key in *#*#7378423#*#*, select Service tests>Vibrator and check vibration. If it doesn't vibrate, take it to your nearest service station
reset settings to default
got the same problem now... my phone is not vibrating, i checked using Service Menu also still not working

Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1126358.
Get app called z-devicetest ...
Open it !
Go to vibration if ticked green and then try in there !!
You will get red cross if it is because of the kernel or rom !!!

Proximity Sensor Issue!

I’m having a serious issue with my Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-i9100.
I was on stock 4.1.2 (rooted via Siyah kernel v6 b5) probably when the problem occurred. The problem is that whenever I make call, the proximity sensor light up and it make the screen black out even if I’m not holding the phone to my ear or so. It’s just lying on the bed. The screen doesn’t light up and I can’t hang up the call. I just can’t do anything till the other person hang up. Pressing home button and Power button just don’t work to make the screen go on.
P.S: The proximity sensor turns on when I first made a call after a reboot and it didn’t gooff till I restart even it stays on after the call.
I have tried formatting internal sd card and also wipe data/factory reset, clear dalvik cache, clear cache partition, flashed stock rom 4.1.2, flashed nexus 2.0 and even downgraded to official 2.3.5 but it didn’t worked out. I even tried to restore the EFS folder from my old backup but still it didn’t helped.
Here in the screenshot you can see the proximity sensor is active, on the home screen even no call is being made.
Please does anyone know what the issue is because it was working before?
Anyone?
I think you should replace the sensor....it's just 3-4 dollars, and it comes with the front camera and light sensor(AIO)

Can you do me a favour please?
Can you please press *#0*# on your dialer . then there Press the "Sensor" and then tell me the value of "PROXIMITY" before covering the proximity sensor with your finger and also after covering the proximity sensor with your finger.

and "144-147" when covered.
Probably a Proxmity Sensor issue? :/

i9100 proximity sensor doesn't work
Hi to all!
I have the issue with proximity sensor and didn't manage to find a solution in other similar threads!
The matter is that it is always stay as Released.
In the same time in test screen (*#0*#) there are changing reading for PROXIMITY parameter from 2 up to 240 with no ADC parameter at all. Please look for screenshots. PROXIMITY parameter changes its value when I move my finger in front of the sensor, but as I can understand Android doesn't recognize it because of ADC absence.
Moreover I tried to change proximity sensor for working one (from another phone), but it shows the same as mine (with no ADC readings).
After all I think it is software problem, but I don't know how to solve it. I flashed different firmwares (now it is XWMSE NeatROM v.6.4), but nothing helped.
Please assist! Thanks!

Re-calibrate Proximity Sensor

Hi! The proximity sensor no longer works, so no Ambient Light Sensor, etc. I tried doing the test in the service menu (Proximity sensor no longer an option) but tapping "Ambient Light Sensor" displays a toast notification "This device does not support the function." I'm currently on eXistenZ 4.0.0 and AndroPlusKernel v14. Bootloader is unlocked. Problem started after I REFLASHED eXistenZ. Everything was working before, but I wanted to change an option and reflashed the Aroma installer for eXistenZ.
Repairing via Sony PC Companion does not work, nor thus flashing any firmware and wiping all data. I've read on different forums that sometimes flashing roms does this, and can be fixed by recalibrating the sensor.
echo 1 > /sys/class/sensors/proximity_sensor/prox_cal

Note that the above is for Samsung. I tried browsing to that location via Total Commander but there is no "/proximity_sensor". Do you guys have that? If so, mind uploading it so I'll try pushing it to my phone? There's also a calibration menu for Xperia Z I think that when bringing up said menu from *#*#SERVICE#*#*, you'd simply tap proximity sensor and it'd be fixed.
Any suggestions (aside from taking it back for warranty, since I bought this from the gray market) would be helpful!
