Hi, i`m trying to edit this .data file. its actually a save game file. i have already tried several text and hex editors but all of them are showing me symbols (which are not meant to be read by human) instead of characters!
any idea on how to open it?
What exact game for you are trying to edit .data file?
Different games may have different save-file format inspite of its extension.
It is samurai vs zombies by glu.
and by the way windows says the file is supposed to be opened with "windows shell commor". but i dont know what is that as i dont find any program with such name. is there any terminal command for that?

It seems like you need to use Hex Workshop v6.6. How to use? There is an article telling that: http://alphavirus95.wordpress.com/2012/03/20/hex-editing-idevice-game-save-files/. I didn't try specified manual and don't know if it works.
Also, for the way to get additional 200 glu coins look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23998693&postcount=15
Well the manual only works on iphone. The android save file is much more complex.
Tnx anyway.

My phone version is 2.3.4 (not rooted yet) and i try to install gameloft game without downloading via wifi like this:
1) download apk and sd file
2) install apk then copy sd file to Gameloft/game/....
3) launch the game
but why it still ask for additional file download? i read some forums and people do like this and they can play that game... but why can't I? help me, please
I'm pretty sure this sort of request is against the forum rules but in case it's not I'll just say to check your directories.
i'm sorry i'm new here so i don't really understand...
Well I feel your request is kind of against the forum rules after reviewing them so all I can say is that this isn't the place to ask that question and instead you should be asking wherever you got the file from.
Basically if you don't obtain things the legit way then it's your own problem I'm afraid and has no business being on a legal forum.
This may be the wrong place to post this but here goes anyway. I have downloaded music and pictures, from my computer onto my Streak 5 but I can't find them. I find some of the pictures but the music is not anywhere on the phone, that I can find. What am I doing wrong? Thanx, in advance, for the help. P.S. what is the latest software version that the Streak 5 will run and how do I apply it? I am running 2.2.1 and I am very ' Technology Challenged '. Thanx again...
Where did you put them on your sdcard?
It should be:
<sdcard>\music
<sdcard>\video
OR
<sdcard>\media\video (or something)
It depends on your player, the built in music app and gallery app will search the entire sdcard, but it checks those listed places first.
are there any files named ".nomedia"? If there is, android will skip any folders with that file in it during it's checking.

Thank you for the reply and help, but it still didn't work. When I try to download, it tells me that these files already exist but I can't fine them. Is there a special way to download and apply these? If so, would you mind explaining. I just connected my Streak to my PC with the data cable and downloaded. Evidently I did it wrong... I see nothing on my Streak that looks like the info that you sent me. Sorry to be so much trouble. Thanx, Barry.
What method did you use to "download" them? Going from your PC to your Streak should be more of a copy operation as opposed to a download.
Are you using an app to facilitate moving the files? If so, which one?
Marvin02, I guess I copied from PC file to ' removable disk ', instead of downloading, like you said. I am not using an app, just straight copy from PC. Thanx...
I put some pdf docs to my tablet. I tried to open them, but some of them couldn't be opened - as it said. I have tried out almost all the pdf readers, none could open those files. Oh, and before asking, yes, I can open all of them on the computer.
It seems like the tablet just doesn't recognize these files. There are Chinese letters in the files' names, it doesn't know the sizes either... etc.
Why is it? What do you think? Most of the ones that cannot be open has photos in them. Books, I mean. Books that have been photocopied and put to a pdf file. So I can't mark words like in a normal pdf ebook.
Hmm, I hope we'll find out what's wrong...and how can be solved.
Thanks!
hohooo, I have just found out how can I manage to open any file. I had to rename all the files, changing all the Hungarian titles...and now the device recognizes them.
Then my question is: How could I make the device to be able to read/open the files having Hungarian names? Should I change the whole language of the device?

Ok sorry guys my English is pretty messed up.. I’m going to try to explain it as good as possible.
I would love to make a Save Patcher-app for the game Zenonia 3 (I want to replace my save file with the users save file on the device) (on Google Play) So far I know is that you need to make a script in Java (A simple one i only need to overwright the files with the one in the app) Could some one help me or something.. the really hard part is putting the script in an Application is where i came for. Well why i wan’t to do this? Becouse you can’t acces the maps without a root on your mobile device (These are found in the directory ‘’ /data -> /data -> /com.gamevil.zenonia3.global’’ I found these with Hex Editor and obtained it with Titanium Backup (backupped the files and copied the files to my PC) It should look a bit like this app.. (Temple Run, I'm not permitted to post links)
I really don't have an idea to do this..

Could please some one help me with this.. I really would appreciate it.. Thanks
Hi, all
I am a android noob and also new on this forum.
I would like to self-host my synchronizable agendas.
I managed to auto-sync my "calendar.db" file from my android phone to my PC, using BTsync.
This "calendar.db" then I can open using an SQLite viewer.
My question : Is there a WIN7 calendar-application that can directly work with this .db file?
Or do I need to have it converted to ical every time when I auto-sync, to open it for example in Chandler?
Can I write / is there a small script to do so?
Tia for any answers ..
