Hi all,
Is it correct that the standard in the box X10 earphones do not play/pause music (can't link to images apperantly, but they can be see via this link (just put the www in front of it): mobilyz.com/wp-content/uploads/Sony-Experia-X10_Mobilyz_19.jpg)? They cán be used to pick up/hang up calls, but that's is. Interesting though that when longpressing the button on the dongle while playing back music does light op the hardwarebuttons led, so contact is being made with the phone, but nothing more happens.
Dying to get the MW-600 earphones, although I read on this forum that they have some difficulties with playing back music as well....
Cheers.
I use bTunes as my music player software, and it recognizes the button on the mic dongle for playing/pausing, though it's a bit finicky.
Thanx, will give it a try...
Hi Guys,
I have some queries egarding S3, would be great if some may share his/her inputs or feedbacks. I am sure that it would be of help to other members too who would like to know the same.
1) How is the Bluetooth Sound Quality. Its bad in SII but i have seen that S3 has APT-X codex support for lossless audio but in practical, does it really help ?? i mean is the sound quality over bluetooth good.
As currently iam using a Sony MW600 with SII but at higher volumes the audio distort.
2) I have been searching in multiple unboxing video and review videos but no one actually opened the S3 stock headset.
All i know is that the headset does have play/pause , call end/answer and volume up/down buttons.
But i would like to know if the headset is capable of changing the tracks (prev/next) as well.
3) Will the same MHL cable work in S3 which i have for S2. I mean is the cable electrically compaltible ??
4) Will the Same USG OTG cable work which i have for S2 ??
5) Have read in Chainfire thread that Samsung has changed the Kernel Package, so will the USB Jig that i have for S2 work on S3.
Any or all answer on the above queries would be deeply appreciated and would thank in advance for replying.

No, it can't change tracks. I think there was an app on the Play store for that though.

Yes, I bought one a few days ago which was advertised as a S2 OTG cable. Works fine.
MHL and USB OTG cables that worked with the S2 will work with the S3 (I tried OTG when I had hands-on about ten days ago, MHL should work as it is a connection standard).
Apt-X will sound the same as wired up to ~370kbps for stereo sound, I tested that too. Couldn't discern a difference in my brief testing.
Thanks member68 and NZtechfreak. Now i someone can confirm if the USB JIG from S2 will work in S3 would be gr8....
Oh, very annoying - MHL connectors DO NOT in fact work. So much for it being a connection standard, Samsung have made one specifically for the S3... Sorry about the information above, I am very surprised by this turn of events...

aptX is not lossless. There are four types of aptX codec: aptX®, aptX Enhanced®, aptX Live®, and aptX Lossless®. The aptX codec being used in new bluetooth devices is just aptX® which is a lossy codec, not aptX Lossless® as some others think.
aptX® is definitely an improvement over ad2p, but it is not lossless like I mentioned earlier.

With some help of additional apps from market (like Jays Headset Control for instance) will give you the ability to finetune button actions, like triple press for previous track. But you can freely configure single, double, tripple, press'n'hold, double press'n'hold, ... Although it is intended to be used with Jays A-Jays One, I use it with Jays A-Jays Four, and works with stock headset too and also with HTC headsets ... will probably work with any headset maybe. And it's free.
Hi there,
i am using a Plantronics M50 Bluetooth-Headset with my S3. It is working fine, with the exception of the Bluetooth-Button (long press) not doing anything. Short pressing starts and ends calls, while 2-pressing redials. But long pressing just does nothing, and as far is know some app should open.
I have used a Samsung BT-Headset before the Plantronics one, which i returned because it had the same behaviour.
I tried the app "Bluetooth Launcher" to force some action to the button, but it didn't work.
Am i just having bad luck with my BT-Headsets, or is the S3 lacking the function of this "Bluetooth-Button" ? I would like to start calls by voice through the Bluetooth-Headset or maybe open mp3player or whatever. Endless googling just tells that no one else seems to have this problem.....
Can anyone confirm that this functionality is present on S3, or does anyone maybe have an idea what i could do about this?
Thanks!
P.S: I'm on stock LFB
i have Samsung galaxy s3 i9300 gt
my stock head set stop working, and after that i found there is no headset in market which is compatible with s3
i tried iphone headset whcih is cheap on price and nice beat music, only middle button of remote working, volume button not working
so i can do only pause music, not i can hear and talk in call, but same thing volume buttons not working
then after that i try all major brands of headset nothing is compatible
we use phone in these days as a music player too, and headset is a big indstury
why samsung is not thinking abt that
or if any guy who modify new Roms can add something so that all can work
if anyone can help pls help me in this matter
thx
[/COLOR]List for Samsung htc sony (not sony erricson) and nokika lumia headset and headphones that work all three buttons & mic ( they have same headphone control input so the all will work on listed device )
- urbeats (not ibeats)
- htc beats solo (no iPhone verision)
- Sony smart headset
- Nocs NS200H-001
-Nokia purity had and inear
Interesting. you tried a single type of headset and say that none will work.
fyi: there are more thao 2 headsets on the market.
There are multiple methods to connect those cables. Samsung uses another method as Apple. Neither have invented their particular method and are hardware-wise incompatible.

If i use the headphones which came with my S1 with the S3 the sound is awful! They just seem not to be compatible with the S3.
Can anybody confirm that? Hope it is not a S3-hardware problem...
Hello guys ..
I've got a really annoying problem with my original Samsung headset.
The phone recognizes the headphone, that it is plugged in and I can response to calls with the button.
But the problem is, that I can't use the button in the Music Player Apps..
Not at PowerAMP or stock. The button (tested with Key Test) doesn't recognize the key as pressed at all.
I am on DorimanX Kernel with OmegaROM, latest versions.
I hope you can help me..
With regards
