I'm looking into building a custom dock/stand to install it in my cars dash. I can't seem to find any kind of landscape dock. I know there's an official portrait one for the view but that's not going to work for what I want to do.
If anyone knows of any please let me know, I'm trying to stay way from using one of the available car mounts.

Im also mounting mine in the dash of my car. I couldn't find a nice dock either so i've resorted to building it all from scratch using fiberglass.

I still haven't been able to find one for the view/flyer.
Though, I found one for the Samsung Galaxy tab 7+. I checked the dimensions for it and it looks like they are spot on the same length, the view is about 1/8th shorter. And that's nothing a but of epoxy and sanding can't fix. Im going to remove the 30 pin connector and replace it with the stock 12pin extmicro.
Still going to look for a more sutieable dock before I do all that.

this might be a little crazy and I hope there some car guys here that can help me this. This has been on my mind for a while and I was wondering how it would be do and how hard? I want to mount a 7inch Android tablet in my dashboard. Take out the radio and in place a tab. sound crazy doesn't in.
What cables would I need? Would tthe LCD mess up in the winter? It would be for a 2008 honda crv.

Why don't you buy a tablet dock to put it in your car? It won't hurt at the first place.

what if i get like a OEM dock for a tablet mount that in my dashbaord have it be able to easily put in my tablet and take out my tablet...hmm

I like hacking and cutting and fixing and things like that so I was wondering is it anywhere remotely possible to make a home made tv out cable for cheap that works with either the headphone jack or usb port (to charge at the same time or not) the tmobile vibrant? If It makes a difference I use cm7 and stock respectively. Right now I am using stock for its camera app but id really like to use my phone with the tv but I dont trust buying things online and I cant find any in stores. Again any and all help is welcomed and greatly appreciated. I hope this is possible

I dont have my S3 yet (wait inpatiently here in the US). Im looking for a dock clock feature/app. Wanting the screen to turn into a clock when i put into dock charger.

And yes i am aware that there is a ton of dock clocks in google play, but since i have never used one i dont know if they automatically turn into a clock when you set it in the charger dock.

It has the built in stock one which you have to activate yourself if thats any good?
The sg3's screen is prone to burn in due to it being amoled.
I don't think that it's a good idea to use these kinds of apps with this phone.

not sure, but have you tried it on the palm touchstone rather than the touchpad touchstone?
also... are you using a case? if so, you might have a case that's too thick

the touchpad touchstone charges slightly differently than the palm and potentially it might not make the receiver not want to initiate the connection.
also, are you using a case? if so, is it thicker than 4mm?

ummm took case of to test but no luck. I hear what you are saying about the chargers but obviously this is designed to be independent of the brand but follow the same standard which all those chargers do along with the energizers etc of the world.
actually... between the three known inductive charging standards, they're not really compatible at all. Powermat claims to be providing qi support in the future but none of them currently work on the other's product.

The past couple of weeks I noticed that every once in a while my phone would be in drive mode for no apparent reason. Well last night I realized it was the magnet in my nexus 7 case that was causing it. If you place the magnet on the back of the optimus g it activates driving mode. Don't know if there are any car accessories with magnets but was wondering if it could be programmed to open a different app. Don't know how useful it would be but just a thought.

I set my phone on my Bluetooth hmdx jam speaker ant it has been doing that since this phone came out.
Old this was discussed like December if I recall. We came to the conclusion that it was a ditched peripheral from lg for a ditched car accessory

I just loaded SnowJB and it doesn't seem to do it anymore. Only worked on stock ICS it seems. This ROM doesn't have the drive mode app so that's probably why. It was annoying so glad its gone.

I am on Snow too. Was thinking about rigging up my own car dock/magnet, but oh well. Easy come, easy go.
