Hi,
I have downloaded dozen of stuff using dolphin hd but the "Downloads" app is showing no content! Its totally empty!
But if i navigate to the "/sdcard/download/" folder via my files app i can see all the downloads!! as this is what is set in the dolphin browsers settings.
Is this download app not linked with the folder mentioned above?
what folder do i have to set in dolphin browser to see my downloads when i tap the downloads app?
Specs:
Galaxy S2
CheckRom RevoHD v6
Dolphin HD Browser
Download app has this white arrow in green background icon
Thanks
no suggestion
If you have cleared download history then you can't see your download stuff in the list again unless you have a titanium backup or dolphin browser and you had backed it up at the time you had download list
Hi,
No, i didn't clear any history.
I flashed checkrom. installed dolphin hd. downloaded stuff and then realized that the download app is not showing anything! No history no nothing cleared.
Eventhough all what i download is being properly saved to "/sdcard/download/". I even get the "Download Complete" message in the notification bar but the app still remains empty
I always have to navigate there using "My Files" to open the downloaded stuff whenever i need it.

Try clear data of dolphin browser or install "Download all files" from market
Hi.
I'm new to these forums and to Android phones.
I'm having the same problem as Thindboy in my Samsung Galaxy Note i717.
My Note hasn't been rooted and I also have Dolphin Browser HD. I think that this problem also happened with the built in Android browser but I can't remember. Dolphin Browser download folder is set as: /mnt/sdcard/download
I followed sahibunlimited suggestions but even with the "Download All Files" app the files are still saved in the previously mentioned directory.
Does anyone know the address of the directory that the "Download" app in Android uses?
If it is the same one that I mentioned, does anyone know what might be going on
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Works!
Confirmed working google search. gj.
If anyone wants the browser setting to pick the default search engine to work... I think it's a different question... But I'm glad I have google again.
I decompiled the DL30 browser apk earlier this morning... And find that the code to force bing was much easier to find than earlier versions. Looks like you took out the default bookmarks, and changed the search string? Anything else out of my curiosity.
The code also wouldn't allow deleting two existing Verizon bookmarks.
If the bookmark was named "VZW Home" or "My Verizon" or the URL was "http://converge.vzwwap.com/" or "https://mobile.vzw.com/sspostmw/forms/myacc.jsp" it wouldn't allow deletion.

...Now with Chrome Icon
This is the same de-binged browser with the Chrome Icon
Thanks for the post.
Hmmm... Can't seem to get it to work. Copied the original to sdcard for backup then using root explorer deleted original and copied debinged to system/app and rebooted and cleaned dalvik but still uses bing and can't delete bookmarks.

Try clearing the application data. settings -> applications -> manage applications.
This will also clear any bookmarks/history you have.

Ok so I can't get it to work at all. Followed OP to a tee and the original Browser.apk says it is deleted in root explorer but when I copy the debinged named as Browser.apk it reverts back to the original no matter what... Stumped on this one...

Thanks for this. But I always find it easier to push files or make a cwm zip (root explorer is not the most reliable). But flash the below file via cwm no wipe is needed plus your existing bookmarks will remain and I was able to delete those vzw links right away. It sucked to have a scrollable widget and seeing the vzw **** there.
@OP update your first post/title with this.
good day.
Thanks Chopper the CWM flash worked perfectly. Url search goes straight to Google and bookmarks deleted. One issue I did notice was even with Google set as homepage and all data history etc cleared when reopening the browser it opens to Google but if you hit the back key it goes to that converge.vzw site even with history and data cleared and bookmark deleted any idea?

What is the exact full URL you see ?
-Doug
@doug it was the vzw homepage but I was able to just randomly eliminating it by clearing data and cache a fourth time. Didn't do anything different or additional and it works perfect now... go figure

Cool. glad it's working for you.

worked for me no problem via cwm.
thanks!
Works great. Thanks to dhoard and chopper!

I was able to install astro file manager via apk. I had to allow outside sites. I usd the package manager when prompted and open after install. I was able to see the system files but i tried to copy them to my sd card with no luck. This does not create a link on the shelf and i dont know how to launch it unless i reinstall from the downloads in the browser. I also attempted other apk some worked others did not. Not sure if this helps anyone I m not a developer just fooling around at Mc donalds playing with my new nook tablet. Maybe this info is already out their if so im sorry.
How about trying to install a launcher like Go Launcher? The Kindle Fire people have some type of success with Go Launcher.
Have you tried rebooting after installing to see if icons appear?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
no but I will.
you'll need a launcher to be able to see your apps. The nook hasn't shown the BN installed apps and the user installed apps in the same place since 1.1.
Very interesting if Zeam or Go are installable. My memory is that the old BN app installer would not install non-BN apps.
I tried a reboot no luck. I Also tried to install the apps from the download location after reboot. I get a problem parsing the file. This could be because temporary internet cache is cleared after reboot not sure.
I have Go running right now on mine and it rebooted into it automatically. If I home button, it goes back to the Nook default UI and I haven't found a way to get back to Go yet.
same her go is running and my other installed apk's are showing up in the app menu
here are some bad pics of go launcher running on nook tablet
Here are some bad pics of go launcher running on nook. With installed apks in the app drawer.
I have File Expert, Market, G Books all installed as well as the Google services APK. Can't log into market yet. I'm a total n00b on this so if more experienced people have advice, let me know.
edit -
Nevermind.. must have been a bad file name or location.. i found another one and it works now.

Download the apk with your browser, then click on the notification in the bottom left, and install with package installer when it'd downloaded.

Yeah, I had done that.. I guess it just didn't like the file.. it was an attachment from here.
Thanks for the go launcher link.
Got the Google account info in via Youtube apk. Access to G+ works fine. Working on market now.

Market keeps force closing though the 2.3.6 market will stay open for a bit. In a twist of irony, the Amazon App store works perfect. Likely no more updates from me tonight.
Summary, download Go Launcher apk and install using Package Installer. Get a File management program, then go to town.
amazon appstore
I have installed amazon app store including all my free apps
from my account. plus opera web browser play on and kindle this rocks.
wave launcher
I have installed wave launcher and added go launcher this can help make up for moments when you need a home button and want to stay in go launcher. Hope this helps.
Is there anyway to get back to the page with "Install from unknown sources" again? I can't find a way of getting there through the settings, and I'm curious if it's even accessible otherwise.

I couldn't find a way. I hacked one of my test apps to launch it. Download the tgps_launcher, and hit "start".
http://comptonsoft.com/test/
I just found that double tapping the N button in Angry Birds will let you chose which launcher to use.
Now I can use ADW on this thing.
Is Kindle Reader app installable? That would make it worth it. Also are the apps all being installed in the 1gb or can they be installed in the BN partition?
If I try to download files to my browser through pretty much any share site, I either get download failed or a 1kb htm file. I know the solution to this is to install opera browser. Problem is, I like the stock browser especially now that its all synced up with my Google account. I have tried astro file manager (option to allow browser downloads and that didn't work either.
If the astro file manager thing didn't work maybe try Download All Files from the Play Store. And if that doesn't you could try a modded browser such as ICS Browser+, also in the Play Store.

more info required as which ROM are you on... GB/ICS...
although i dont think it makes a difference...
If on ICS stock brower... go to menu ...settings..advanced... default storage...
see if its selected to phone...(memory card only if you have one slotted in the phone)
i just checked a download from www.filehippo.com
works for me...
i dont think you need to use any other browser or app to download stuff...
I have a DOMO Slate N9 SE tablet running on ICS 4.0.3. Everything is working fine but I cannot sign in to YouTube.
When I click on YouTube for the first time, it crashes saying 'Unfortunately Android System has stopped' and the next time it gets stuck on 'Signing in'. If I clear data, again it says 'Unfortunately Android System has stopped' and then keeps on getting stuck at signing in.
But when I use applications like Opera Mini and Flipboard and load a video, the YouTube app opens and runs the video. When I click on 'like' to like that video, I get a pop-up screen asking me to log in using my Google account. When I click on it, I get the same error, 'Unfortunately Android System has stopped'.
I think there are system files missing in the device. The ICS ROM did not even have CalendarSyncAdapter.apk and I had to manually install it. So I think even the YouTube error is due to some missing system files.
I have tried several other versions of YouTube app too but I get the same error.
What shall I do? Please help. BTW my device is rooted.
Thank you.
Alright I took an apk file of YouTube from the internet and placed it in with my 'system/apps' folder with the permissions being 'rw-r-r' and I am able to sign in now.
But well I want it on my SD card, what can I do now?

Hi,
I am encountering an issue with my phone when using Google Drive. I also have ES File Explorer installed, whose latest version appears to be able to download or open Google Docs files as well. When I try to open a file in Google Drive, I get the popup asking which program I want to use to open the document, if I select Google Docs and tap 'Always', the phone will reboot, if I tap 'Just Once' the file opens normally. Anyone else has experience with this issue, or is able to help resolve it? I have tried reinstalling the apps and clearing their data, and failed to solve the problem.
I am running XXEMC2 (BTU), rooted with Perseus Kernel and some CPU tweaks. Yes, my CPU is undervolted but I have not suffered any other crashing / bootloop / hanging issues with the phone. I can reliably trigger this reboot by trying to set Google Docs as the default app for opening Google Docs files.

Same problem here -- running Jedi Mind Trick on Samsung Galaxy S II.
It looks like the latest update to ES FIle Explorer works around the problem (which their description claims is a bug with Google Drive).
As of today, bug is still here, with version 3.0.5 of ES Explorer, dated from July 14.
Use another file explorer .
