Pictures always get sent and applied sideways! - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Any time I attach a picture to an MMS or app profile pic, it gets turned sideways 90'. It doesnt matter if I take the picture in portrait or landscape. Any suggestions? I'm running shep's miui.us but I dont think the rom is to blame because Ive used it before and never experienced this! Help!

A screenshot app that works?

Hello,
I've tried a few different screenshot apps but they all appear to come out completely wrong. Some are the wrong colour, but the biggest issue is that they never come out in the correct orientation!!
If I take a screenshot in landscape mode, it comes out 90° clockwise to the screen, if I take one in portrait, it comes out 180°... totally upside down. Even if I rotate it, when I upload the image somewhere it shows in the wrong orientation.
Its happened on 315 and does it now on 318..

theres a thread somewhere in xda that said apparently the lcd was mounted upside down in the streak, thats why the images come out weird, happens to all screenshot apps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=891146
No way!! So, is there a fix for this?
As I said, even when I rotate the images, when I upload them they appear upside down again...

However you rotate the images make sure that when you save the image that the exif orientation information is being saved. Some programs/apps don't save the orientation unless a setting is set properly. How to do this can vary from program to program.
Ok, I will look into it. Thanks.

I've found that screenshot it appears to have a tick box to rotate images 180 deg. This could be useful, but the dev has to work on a red tint issue that appears to consume every screenshot I make..

To get rid of the red tint. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1008494

The suggestion is to use two apps which show the image as upside down when the screenshot is taken, which is exactly why I went with screenshot it. I can wait on the dev to fix the tint and will then have an awesome app.

I can rotate the image easier than I can fix the color shift.
Knowing the dev is working on a fix for the red tint, I have the patience to wait for a fully working app.

[Q] Instagram

Anyone knows of an app like instagram for android? They have instagram in the market which is acutally named instadroid but won't let me upload photos.
They don't have anything exactly like instagram, though I've heard they are making it.
They closest I've found is Picplz
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.picplz.rangefinder&feature=search_result
instagram now available on play store
anyone knows where does it store the processed images, im trying to find one to be able to uploadit (without using instagram itself to share)
and cant find the image
Running Creamed Glacier with the camera Fix and using Pudding Camera app inside of Instagram.
I'm able to take a picture and crop, but the filter selection mode crashes and won't let me upload any picture, from the camera or from sdcard.
Advanced camera is set to off, before I was getting a blank screen.
Anyone gotten a picture uploaded successfully? I may just reboot my phone to see if that solves the issue
Are you having any problems with it? I have it downloaded but it glitches when taking a picture and FC I'm using the hybrid rom of zip and blackwing

Yeah, glitchy for me, I'm impressed with the compatibility for different cameras and galleries, but It FCs whenever I upload any photo. (The crop step is also very annoying If I don't want to crop anything) Immediately following that it bounces back to the home menu with no uploaded photo
if any of you dont like or are having problems with instagram, i can recommend PICSART , in the edition and filter section it is very complete, it lacks a little bit in the social networking, but its getting better, you can do amazing stuff with your pics (no cropping required)

its gotten to the point were i uninstalled, for first release it was quite an achievement i personally blame the rom (no offense to devs, but its true we're still working on the bugs [ this rom is stable yet and won't be until further notice. But if i was on stock rom it would be an amazing app.
I'm using the instagram camera & when I switch the FFC its like all sideways O__o

You can change the camera settings in whatever camera app you are using, Instagram only accepts larger pictures. I'm not sure of the minimum size though.
I'm still getting FC when I upload, There was an update for the app today and I thought it would fix ie. But nah. Longshot for that one. I'll check out Picstart in the meanwhile

Using Instagram on Creamed Glacier and it's working pretty well and smoothly. All effects work and such.
Another update came out today, Fixed all the "Photo To Small" Problems

Hahah, I dont know but yeah instagram may be a bit buggy, but it's getting there with their updates, especially with the "photo too small" problem they used to have.
Instagram is really good. The only thing annoying me about it right now is the cropping function. It doesn't let you add full pictures and you can only crop in a small part of the picture. And that it doesn't have landscape mode.
I never saw the appeal of instagram. Can someone explain to me why, everybody swears by it. To me it's just another camera/photo-editing app.

Scrolling

Just bought the amaze today and went to the YouTube app and noticed when scrolling through the videos the text on the screen was out of focus. Is anyone else having this issue or did I just get a bad device? For the few hours I've played with it, this seems to be a very nice device

Seems clear to me. See attachments.
Unless you're talking about the motion of scrolling, then I guess it's a little blurry. ...
Yeah I'm taking about the motion. It seems to get blurry and the screen dims a little.

Pictures shared in landscape by default

Every time I share a picture via twitter, g+, Facebook, or mms, or even upload it to a message board, the orientation defaults to landscape regardless if its taken in portrait mode. This is pretty annoying. It also happens when I try to edit my avatar using the xda app.
How can I fix this so that a picture is uploaded in the orientation that the picture is taken in?

I've noticed this too (at&t Samsung Note i717). My workaround is to crop it to just about full size. Its a pain in the neck though.

Pics in text msg. Come in as video. Can this be changed so it's a pic?

When I get a text with a picture, it plays as a video. Can someone help with this. Not sure how to make it just a pic. Thanks

Same happens to me. I have been able to save the picture sometimes.
But I would love to know how i can change this so i receive it as a picture.
Yeah. It's driving me nuts. Not sure how to fix this. I even tried other apn settings but no difference.
Sent from my MB886 using Tapatalk 2
I dont think its the APN settings because I it happened on my GS2 as well.
Very unusual, maybe its the way Samsung's messaging application shows mms?
Is there anyone who doesnt have this issue?
I havnt re-checked after reading this (I'm lazy) but i was pretty sure it IS a picture but viewed as a slide show for a few seconds, and therefore has a timed progress bar like a video...
My old non-smart phones were the same...

U have to wait for further update from Samsung. Maybe they change that in jellybean. Otherwise you can use Go sms app. Download it from Play store for free.
