Thanks for the reply.
Is it possible to fix this without root CWM?

Yes reinstall ICS if that fails install the ICS for your phone via KIES .
jje

I have tried re-installing it few times but I get the same result.
About installing it via kies, since I have used odin I am not able to install using kies.
I may need to go back to GB again.

Is it just me or people are nit using the wifi? It does not seem like alot of discussion on this....????
Any other suggestions are appreciated

I also have this problem. I hope to find a solution to this soon. It's getting really frustrating to have to reboot just so I can turn on my wifi.

I am going back to GB dxkl3

Installed siyahkernel 1.7.2. Netchip superpower and CF-Root for KI3 also fixed this.

Maybe you can check with check fus your original firmware. Download that firmware and flash it.
flashing stock GB rom might solve the issue. try samfirmware[dot]com for your GB rom
Edit: Just noticed your signature with LG!!

You can flash it directly via Odin. Just download the official ics from intratech thread and flash it via odin

How to install cm9 on sgs2 gingerbread?

Just a question. There are numerous sites on the internet that tells you how to install cm9 on sgs2. Others say that you dont need to flash a leaked ics. Others need you to install . Please help thanks.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Go by the guide on CM9 website. I played it safe and flashed the tar version via PDA in odin. Once that's installed you can then update to latest nightly. I've never had any issues with that process. All the best.

So sir did you install first a leaked ics or not? Thanks
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Erm not sure I'm a bit of a flasher- holic. More than likely I was on a 4.0.4 based custom rom. If you do full wipes and format system then flash via odin I'm sure you will be fine as that's what I did. Please read CM9 guide though.

I went from stock GB to CM9 nightly without any problem

wifi direct does not fully depend on the apps you install coz it is the function of the system. so something related to software might have gone wrong! so flashing a stock rom or factory resetting the current rom may help you.
NOTE: always remember to backup efs before flashing roms.
