Okay I made my first Rom, but I can't get it to install after building it and trying to install the zip file. The installation gets aborted and I'm not sure why. There error mentioned tmp/kernel or something like that, but I don't even know why it is looking for anything kernel related since they aren't flashed in recovery. Anyways I guess I just need a quick guide to the part of the Rom that handles instalation.

Long story short: I soft bricked and went back to stock.
Rooted phone.
Then on rom manager I pressed flash clockwork.
Then selected vibrant. That's where the problem is.
It says error occured when downloading and that's it.
I'm stuck on stock how can I make this work or will it work if someone gives me their update.zip?
Also if that works can someone give me their update.zip?
This is the first time I've had this problem and I haven't heard any similar problems so that's why I'm asking.
Thanks in advance.
Delete update.zip, Uninstall/reinstall cwm and try again on wifi

a Developer with so much time.... i love you.
I been trying and looking for a long time to find a way to make the mopho statusbar transparent I've tried metamorph and ninjamorph but no luck tho..... anyone know of something or a tutorial on how this can be done? Ty
Your title should probably a little more than just "HELP!" I mean really are you on fire? Did you send Lassie to let us know you were trapped in a well? Are you an American POW who somehow managed to access to XDA and this is your only chance to request a rescue? Oh, no You just need to make your status bar transparent. Stand down SEAL team 6.
Maybe try UOT KITCHEN...there are a lot of options there.

looks great but im only rooted i think you have to have a rom for this?
Dont need a rom for this..
Save your framework-res.apk and systemui.apk to your computer and uot will make the changes to them in a zip file u can flash using bootstrap recovery. I am on stock rom so I know it works.

Title says it all but a picture says so much more
this is a port of a port that from where i found it says Credit goes to Elitemovil for originally making it.
I just took the job of making it work on the Photon.
This was made to work with Yays 4.5.1A-1_SUN-198_7 Deodexed SBF
To use on a stock phone
Flash in CWM or Bootstrap
Use Root explorer and rename the systemui.odex file to systemui.odex.bak (it's in the System/app folder) then reboot.
ty iaccax and mr_wrong_0 for finding that out.
Make sure to wipe Dalvik Cache
Will be along first boot
Nice

I know its not designed for it, but would it work on a stock OTA 4.5.1A-1_SUN-154_6? Just want to verify that it wont cause something crazy to happen, im stock rom rooted and locked, btw. Looks great!
i dont know if it will work or not maybe someone else does or you can make a backup first and try. No luck then just restore it.

Using CWM?
i did make teh updatezip to work with bootstrap recovery i dont have CWM installed to test it with that
only file inside zip is SystemUI.apk goes inside /system/app/ folder
Works perfect with cwm unlocked! Thanks.

I'm on skinny rom. Might be that reason.

Skinny is based off the same SBF might have to clear cache after installing
I'm running skinny as well and a wipe was not needed...everything is running fine...thanks ranger

I got it to flash. Redownloaded it. Must have been a bad download.
I am still locked and unrooted on 198_7 and this is exactly what I was waiting for.
Thanks. Will give it a try when I get to a computer.

It depends on which method you want to run. You can use the rootzwiki leak which is a tar file used in Odin. Or you can use dagr8's CWM flashable zip.
Let me know which one you want to use and I'll give you further directions. (Odin method would be easier for newbs)

If you know how to use CWM I'd recommend using that one. I believe if you flash the rootzwiki one you will lose root and CWM.

I have done a nandroid and when you say flash i guess you mean load the exe through odin, if so it comes back as failed all the time, do i have to try a diff com or something.

I would suggest maybe starting with the collective First flight ics it just has fewer steps at this point. What you want to do is download the rom to your sd card and follow the instructions on wiping.
If you need more help feel free to pm me.

1. Back Up your Stuff.
2. Wipe Data/ Factory Reset
3. Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache
4. Flash .zip in recovery

Hi again coffinfeeder could you let me know what is using all my ram , is there something im not suppose to running.
Hello, I have an HTC Amaze 4g running stock rom and on ics. I am trying to flash the faux kernel but when I try to flash it using 4EXT it starts the process then says
(Status 7)
Installation Aborted.
I dont know why it wont flash and have looked for help everywhere but they all say the same thing. Can someone help me? Also after I flashed the kernel the first time, my wifi stopped working does that have anything to do with it?
First thing to check is, are you S-ON? If so, is smart flash enabled?

Hmmm... I would try re downloading the kernel and seeing if it could have been a bad one before. Other than that someone more knowledgeable will have to help you. Sorry I wasn't more help.

I think I figured out the problem, when I redownloaded the ics kernel from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1359951
not all the files where being downloaded to my computer, I am missing the flash.bat file and I think others. Do you know where else I can find this ics kernel with all the files.

Here you go.

If the download from faux's page doesn't work I don't know what to tell you. It'll take someone with more knowledge than me to help you. Sorry

Uninstall any download managers and download accelerators you may have and try downloading it again. Also try using a different browser such as Firefox or Google Chrome

i don't think you need smart flash if your phone is s-off.. smart flash is for flashing the kernel without s-off.. disable smart flash and try again
