[Q] Downloading to internal, CM9 rebooting? - Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet

I just this beautiful piece of hardware yesterday, and could not wait to jump into the ROM scene, but now that i have i have a couple of questions.
First, whenever i try to download something now it says i need a sd card in the system. I have searched everywhere, on here, on google, and cannot find a fix or explanation.
I tried using the CM9 .02 and it seems to reboot constantly for me without telling it to. I am just wondering if anyone else had that.
Thanks.

You do need an SD card for roms. You can get some to download and install internally, but not most. If you do have an SD card try taking it out then putting it back in 0.2 is pretty finicky with SD cards. And as for the reboot issue you should reboot into recovery wipe data then reinstall. Also backup your apps before you wipe.

What I meant with the download thing, was let's say I wanted to download a picture, or apk or anything. Well when I need to download it, it says I need a sd card installed. Is that what you meant, or did you mean that i would need to install the rom onto the sd card?

[Help] Eris no longer able to install apps

I droped my phone (I know :/ ) and my phone was no longer able to open apps on the sd card so I wiped and reflashed Tazz v.22 but it can't install any apps from the market or sd, just hangs on install. File manager and music along with recovery can read the SD card but the OS can't dismount it, it only force closes. This is not the first time this has happened but the only time it has had a negative effect. The back cover and battery flew across the room any ideas on what has happened or how to fix this? Everything (processor, touch screen, WiFi/3G, ect) all work :3
Try reformatting the SD card from Amon RA recovery and see if that helps. You have to use the Partition option to do so, just choose 0MB for everything unless you know you want additional partions (for Apps2SD and/or Swap). Make sure and copy anything you want to save from the SD card (if it's recoverable) first, and put it back on after reformatting if you need it back on there.
After putting whatever ROM(s) you want to reflash on your SD card, make sure and check the MD5 hash to see if it matches the MD5 hash reported by the ROM dev (ask them in their thread what it should be if they don't post it in the first post).
Thanks, I'm partitioning now and ill post how it goes
if that process doesnt work, you might try another sd card if you have one handy, just to see if its the reader or what.... you can alway take advatage of your warranty and tell em your sd wont mount, if nothing else works....
Unfortunately it didn't work. I am not sure why my SD would work for everything (Apps, and Recovery) but not the main OS and what that has to do with my phones ability to install apps to any location. I have tested: GPS, WiFi, 3G, Touch Screen, SD mounting to comp., and LEDs and they all work; This is strange. I am not sure what is "wrong", is there a way to check to see if the internal memory, or a special important place that I don't know of, is damaged or corrupted?

That's a good idea; my only problem is that the water sticker just under the cover has been activated by my hand sweat back in days when I tried for hours on end to use Captainkrtek's root method. But the sticker on the battery is not activated so hmmm
Edit: I am googling my problem and will try some of the ideas out there and let everyone know how it goes
i think youd be okay... mine fell in a pool and they still accepted it for a broken sd reader over 8 months ago ...
Super woot: I fixed it; I had to delete my .android-secure folder. I still need to test other stuff but I can now istall apps for the SD card

[Q] Cant mount sd card to phone. Need help PLEASE

I am rooting my daughters Droid Eris. I used the app from the market and flashed Cyanogen 7. Everything went well until I tried to start restoring her apps and found that the phone is saying there is no sd card. When I go into setting to mount it it is greyed out and wont do anything. the gallery and rom manager also say there is no sd card. the card I am using is not partitioned. I tried taking a partitioned sd out of my old Cliq and putting it in and then it says it has a unsupported system or something like that but I did notice that the mount sd in settings was no longer greyed out. If I reboot into recovery it will recognize the card because it lists what is on it. I have searched everything I can find and cant find any answers. Oh, also, when I plug in the usb to the computer it does nothing then either. Any Ideas??
Go into recovery since her phone can read the card from there and reformat the card. You may also want to wipe data and dalvik and reflash the rom to be on the safe side.
Make sure that you backup anything currently on the SD card before formatting it, which you can do from the usb-ms toggle option in recovery. You will need to copy the rom file back to the phone after formatting the card which can be done from this option as well.
There should be an android.secured folder on the SD card. Delete that. You don't want it on there so make sure you don't copy it back to the card (it will come back after the first boot and it can then be left alone, I like to delete mine before each flash though to avoid possible problems.)
EDIT - DONT FORGET TO FLASH GAPPS RIGHT AFTER FLASH THE ROM! ALL CM7 ROMS REQUIRE THIS!
Let me know if you have any problems

Rezound Bootloop totally messed up

I cannot do anything to get my phone out of this bootloop that it is in. I am running senseless rom from scottsrom. I did a fix permissions in rom manager and now i cannot get it out of this loop. I pulled everything out and restarted it, no sd card, no sim card, back is off. Its still bootlooping. pleaseeee help.. any suggestions?
with the sd card out i can get past the bootloader screen and into amon ra recovery, but no sd card means its pointless. Still bootloops though. If i have it in its asking me to update, but i dont remember leaving anything on the root of the sd card. I dont know whats going on here.
If the only thing you need to do is remove a file from the SD card, then you can use an adapter and delete it using your computer, or just borrow a buddy's phone and insert the card and delete it there. Worst case, you buy yourself a new blank SD card and copy the folder (with full path) for your nandroid backups over to the new card and try restoring a backup.
If those recommendations at not helpful, you can do a lot from ADB. I recommend following some of the available processes in the development section to reinstall the appropriate kernel (boot.img).

[Q] SD Card is NOT MOUNTED after installing MIUI - HELP

Hi.
Installed MIUI.
Love it.
I don't use an external SD Card, and never did.
Now all of a sudden this new rom says "please instert SD card" when I turn on camera, and so on. Won't let me take pics, won't let me install StiftKeyX keyboard, won't let me access my previous saved pics, wallpaper (well, everything that was on the "SD Card")
HELP. did I install it wrong? What did I do? How to fix?
Thanks
Strange issue, perhaps you could try reinstalling via my Miui guide... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1307637

Are you still able to see the Internal SD through recovery?
If you are still able to see it in recovery then doing a clean install as mentioned above should fix it. I would Odin to stock first and make sure repartition is checked when you do so, then reflash MIUI.

lol i dont know how to move it except just post new thread there
Sounds like you need a new SD card. Some of the stock cards don't play well with MTD based ROMs. I would probably get a Class 10 microSD card (be careful if you get 32gb, there are known problems with some of them)
I bought http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-microSDHC-Class-Memory-Adapter/dp/B0058GH4U0/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1335980268&sr=8-12 and have had no problems at all after!
You are flashing the THS build 2 first right? You have to flash that rom, then reboot to recovery by holding down the power button wile your in the OS and select the recovery option after that you'll be in a compatible version of CWM. Flash AOKP M5 from there.
