Yeah, if everyone is OK with the complications of using a motorola phone, wait till you flip to HTC or Samsung.
Christ, who names this ****.

Logic would dictate the one on the bottom since it's got an "02" on the end of it.
So far logic hasn't really proved to work with these phones yet... I'm still working on it though. Could be me..

A quick search shows which file is which.
The first one is a fast boot file to get you back to .173.
The one that ends in 02.xml gets you back to .744.
I didnt search for the other file.

.173 is the latest official firmware, so use the first one

Using the first one proved to be useles in getting the ICS leaked to install unless it was the the root method i used.

No. Who cares. That firmware looks like old news. Definitely older than JK2 / JK6 and JL1.
That doesn't make any sense. Froyo, but JJ?

also, im too scared to flash it to a custom rom since i already have one die on me

[Q] Found a easy New method to Root Atrix! WILL THIS WORK ON ATRIX?????

or will this work?
Nah old fashioned root method is safer and guaranteed to work... i wouldn't try that way. An old man in ancient times (1990's) once said "That which is on youtube is not always true" and it remains true to this day
Search google or xda forums, they are specifically for the atrix. I unlocked and rooted my atrix by sbf flashing into a controlled softbrick, entering fastboot to unlock and then reboot. Ding fries are done! Make sure you read the instructions all the way through before attempting any install.

I find the root method on BriefMobile to be most effective. A little more work vs one click but you learn something doing the old fashion way.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
I can confirm that this one-click method does in fact work on Motorola Atrix running OTA 4.9.1 GB. Here is a direct link to the TalkAndroid article.
If you'd prefer to run the commands individually, feel free to open the batch file and run each one.

From looks of the developer forums it hasn't been updated in months. It looked like the only viable option.
Development for this phone is definitely lack luster. You can't keep up with the ROMs for Samsung and HTC.
difference between locked and unlocked bootloader.
Actually development is still going strong for this phone. Just have to remember that there is more than one development forum.

Yeah I've found a couple other forums. XDA evidently isn't the place for Trollorola Roms

[Q] Can't restore back from leaked Ics

I recently rooted my phone and upgraded to leaked official ics. I prefer gingerbread and looking to go back. When using Odin to return me to stock, i get to the initial setup where i touch the android bot and it wont work due to force closing.
Is there anyway I can successfully go back to the 2.3.6? I have searched the threads but can't find anything that actually works. Please help.
Btw. upgrading to ics, I lost root.
All the help i have gotten thus far hasn't worked at all.. does anyone really know how to fix this?

After that go into 3e recovery (3 finger salute) and do factory reset.
Put your flame suit on.

I never removed sim card in my Samsung phones while flashing. Not sure why you would need to.

My Samsung phones always ran warm but not while flashing a rom that took all of 6 minutes at best. Never a need to remove sim.
For the poor sap that microwaved his sgs3....next time he/she should try his grocer's freezer section.
