Not going to happen unless you read and learn is it .
Follow the instructions .
And I want original and stable ICS rom with that default blue theme on it because I dont like that touchwiz which makes the phone still look like ginger bread
Then do not root your rom wait for the official KIES upgrade .

I rooted mine with the zergRush exploit, then installed one of ChainFire's CF-Root kernels that comes with ClockWorkMod. That gave me the ability to flash new ROMs without ever getting the warning triangle.

actually i still didnt rooted yet because of this reason. yes I dont want yellow triangle to appear and flash counter to increase more than zero could you please give me his link?
Use the search dude!!
Flash a ics firmware with odin, root it then use triangleaway to reset counter and get rid of the triangle. Never use odin again. I'm using mobile odin (pro version is on market, search the forum for lite version. However light version just flashes the stock fw, not roots it. So you must root it with odin etc) for flash stock roms and cwm for others. Odin mobile does not affect counter, or make the triangle appear. Then you can downgrade to gb or flash whatever you want.

He's not rooted yet and wants to avoid the triangle/binary counter increase. That's why I mentioned how I did mine...
Copy CF-Root kernel to sdcard
Root with zergRush
adb shell dd if=/sdcard/zImage of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5 bs=4096
Reboot
Flash any other ROM of choice through CWM.
I never used ODIN so didn't increment the counter. Once, I messed things up so I flashed a stock downloaded ROM via ODIN and went through the same procedure above to get CWM back.

Few people have been asking CF-Root to KF3 rom (Development Forum). This is the way to get there using available stuff.
I flashed stock KF3 rom from thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Then rooted using CF-Root v4.0 KF2 version from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
Then flashed stock KF3 kernel back using CWM 4.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Now I have root, KF3 rom, no yellow triangle and everything is working like a Swiss clock. I was coming from KF1 multi-csc frankenstein rom and didn't lose any of my setting or data.

Hi all,
A quick question on how easy to roll back (un-root) and put back the stock ROM?
My current ROM is stock Telstra ROM. (just bought the phone today)
PDA: DVKF4
PHONE: DVKF2
CSC: TELKF3
Build Info : Jun 21
I know how to roll back a HTC Desire - by installing the RUU image from HTC or use the PB99IMG.zip install method to remove "root" and put back into std ROM.
I have yet to root my SGS2. Reason to un-root and go back to stock ROM is for warranty purposes. you never know what will happen (for example, my desire decides to dies on me yesterday, had to put back stock ROM to submit for warranty claim).
thank you in advance

Nope. Jig is only required to clear the custom Rom counter, in case you have to claim warranty and return the phone to Samsung. And also to force the phone in Download mode, if something bad happens while flashing custom ROM etc.
hey cad,
Made any headway here?
I just bought an SGS2 from Telstra as well and I have a similar phone to yours.
PDA: DVKF4
PHONE: DVKF2
CSC: TELKF3
I too would like to retain the stock kernel, firmware and csc.
If we root with an insecure kernel, how do we go back to stock kernel if it's not downloadable?
Could we just flash another kernel if we are making a warranty claim and hope they don't check?
I assume CSC is where all the Telstra crap is stored and once we get ROOT, we should be able to back this up out of \system

Usual is flash a relevant stock rom or older stock rom and update via Kies.

I just updated to firmware 2.3.5, and my Baseband version is I9100XXKI4 and my Kernel version is I9100XWKI8. Build number is GINGERBREAD.XWI8.
So if i am going to flash with Odin, what do I flash? I have found a insecure Zip-files with XXKI4 and another with XWKI8, but I am not sure wich one of them would work. I rooted the phone on 2.3.3, and then I flashed the kernel, but now i'm not sure, since XWKI8 is my baseband version. I know this is a little noobie, but I want to root my phone and not brick it.
So my question is, flash with XWKI8 or XXKI4

The easiest way to root your phone is to flash CF-Root kernel.
Here is Chainfire's thread => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399&highlight=CF+Root.
Please read first post.
For your current ROM, you should flash CF-Root kernel for XW_NEE_KI8 from 6. post.
That's all !
After flashing this kernel (by using PDA section of Odin), you will see a yellow triangle when booting.
In the second post, Chainfire described how to get rid of the yellow triangle after rooting.
The needed stock kernel for your ROM can be downloaded from Intratech's Official Firmware thread here => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278.
You can use the XWKI8 stock kernel from the second post.
The password to extract the file is also written in the post.
But you do not need to remove the yellow triangle.
It is optional and up to you.
Good luck !
Thank you!

Yes, zergRush exploit (=> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319653) method is also an option to root the phone.
Intratech has described this method in his first post as "Quick Root Guide".
Very "elegant", because you do not get a yellow triangle and the binary counter won't be incremented.
But as you are a "Noobie", I recommend to flash a rooted kernel (such as CF-Root kernel) to root your phone, which is more simple.
If you read Intratech's Quick Root Guide and feel confident to root your phone like that, then use this method.
If not, stick to Chainfire's CF-Root method.
It is your choice.
Well, I'm not that noob, I rooted my HTC Desire and SGS2 on 2.3.3, but I was just a little confused with this one

yep, that is the right kernel to flash to root your current version of the firmware. you might want to take another look at the cf root thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
which gives you the full instructions on how to root. if you ever want to unroot, refer to the stock firmware thread to find the unrooted kernel or flash the full unrooted firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Additionaly, if you want to remove the triangle without a usb jig try flashing an ics rom and root it and then try chainfire's Triangle Away app.. For sale on the market but free for XDA users

Here are 2 easy ways you can root without modifying your binary counter, (altering kernel).
Flash a firmware from liriquid, it is prerooted!
Follow this guide.
or just flash any firmware you like, flash a cf-root kernel (all of them should do the job, LP7 8 9 DX9) and use triangleaway. Easy peasy.
The first thing you should do is download the ROM that is already on your phone. If your phone gets rooted or you flash a different ROM (all which invalidatte your phone's warranty) then you can get back to where you were. It saves you from having to ask for it later because the file is no longer being hosted.
After that it is just a bit of reading - the folks above have given enough links.
Ive looked for my current rom can't find it anywhere, thats why I started the thread.
Cheers for all the help so far
Lee
Just looked at the intratech downloads, couldnt find phone=I9100NELP3 only NELP2 and the same for CSC could only find H3GLP2 and not H3GLP3, does that make any difference. Still got no idea on the stock rom I already have.
Just to let you know I rooted the phone this morning using the help given and had no problems.
Many thanks
