Not supposed to be in development and there are cm9 and other aosp roms that are floating around here that are 4.0.4

Yeah and we would like to see ... n00bs stop posting crap like this is development section. Use some common sense, read forum titles and also sticky topics before creating a thread.
Also there are various ICS roms, go and look.

Paradoxxx has launched a 4.0.4 version yesterday. Since I'm using Resurrection Remix from westcrip I'll not change to any other ICS port. I'm sure westcrip is implementing 4.0.4 also very soon.

I agree with the post above this one. That's the reason God built a search button into the XDA forum, and the reason He's blessed us with google.
Hint: look in the SGS2 development forum for the letters "ICS", then read about what you find.

Yes, xda is a development forum, hence the name xda developers, but there's also different forums and subforums to distinguish real developments between questions/interests/requests and so on. And this is a question, plain and simple. Did OP develop anything here? No he didn't. He asked a question. There's a subforum for that and this is not it.

This is not the place to be "ASKING" things like this, that is why the Q+A section is there.
If you have something for development, something to contribute then you would post it here.
The OP has a question, nothing to contribute besides that.
ie: This thread should not be in this section of the forum.
PS: As for Miui being ported from the sensation, chances are if there is anything which can be ported then the dev's will have had a good scout about when a roms being made like that, if someone else gets it right before they do or a similar bug gets ironed out then they will ask them directly if it's of any use to them, not many stones are left unturned.

The developers who develop CM9 And AOKP (mdeejay and helicopter88) can also build a MIUI ICS ROM with the same device configs, so it's pretty 'easy' to make a MIUI ROM with an existing device config. I suppose there will be a MIUI ICS ROM when the devs fix all the bugs in their CM9 and AOKP ROMs respectively.

Okay so I believe most of us have been waiting on a custom Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean Rom. Now the question is when? And which would you prefer Stock Jelly Bean or Touchwiz Nature Ui with Jelly Bean features and fluidity? I for one enjoy all the features that come stock with my Galaxy S III but would just like to add features such as Google Now and Project Butter's fluidity (Not Saying that the Galaxy S III has Lag) but what do ya'll think and do you know of any team working on it such as cyanogenmod?

Key word: asking. You're asking a question so it belongs in q&a. No matter what your question pertains to it still belongs in q&a. Only actual development belongs in the development section.

Well, it could pertain to other carriers, so it could be in General. I believe the development forums are for ROMs in development, and discussion of future ROMs still go in General.

papa smurf is the mod on the sprint gs3 wow that's crazy,haven seen him for a while anyways,
I want jelly bean with touchwiz ,it has good features, but it cool look better, for some reason it reminds me more gingerbread then ics, most likely cause of the green battery lol

On topic, since it's in the proper area now, I can already tell you I want an AOSP-based ROM like CyanogenMod or AOKP when Jelly Bean hits.
The International SGS3 started getting official CM9 nightlies not too long ago, so I'd imagine it won't be terribly long until the US variants see a similar treatment.

Some times giving the freedom beyond the rules is what makes the forum into more friendly to NEW guys who got no clue in this things but looking for easy, instant information.

A. You're not allowed to post a "what is the best_____" thread
B. Radio is location dependant, so you can start trying them out. (they take a few cycles for them to settle, just like flashing roms and kernels)

I am using Dorimanx v7.33 for JB.. on android v4.2.1 - cm10.1 I am using this so I can undervolt to get the battery to last longer. Doing the same thing I can get 2 days on ICS.
I dont know about radio but try out GetRIL so the RIL and Baseband are the same on every one they never match.

It's better for new guys to read for themselves, so they know what they are flashing. Otherwise you get dozens of annoying questions afterwarts about their rom, because they blindly follow advise about roms that are based on personal preferrences (which maybe don't match their own expectations).

Well, there has been only two 4.2.1 ports to s3 and one of them is paused. The other one is Cm10.1, so go with it. If there's other 4.2 roms they are build from Cm source.

Guys,
There has been so many "Which is the best ROM?" and "Which is the best kernel?" threads lately.
This is a reminder.. these kind of threads are NOT allowed.
Why are they not allowed? Well because that the best rom and kernel for me might be the worst for someone else. It's subjective. It's like asking who the hottest girl in the world is. Or which sports car is the best. If you ask 100 people you will get 100 different answers.
The best advice is to try them all and figure out which one is best for YOU and YOUR needs. Not based on what's best for someone else.
I have just been closing these threads but I'm going to start to hand out official warnings if it continues.
Thanks jje - knew I was right. If users see such threads how do we report them to mods like yourselves. Can't see a facility on the app?
