You can always build the rom here it's source:
https://github.com/tdm/android_device_samsung_ypg1/tree/ics
First off, look around at the threads and actually read them instead of starting a new thread.
Second, this has no business in the dev section.
Really sorry when I posted in the threads for them it was ignored and I have read the other threads just find it hard to keep up with whats going on
Oh and can u point me to a tut for making custom roms? I want to give it a go.
Do i need ubuntu and the source ure pointing me to is that for yp-g1 or the samsung epic as it talks abiut the samsung epic.
And is the source gingerbread or ics?
Thanks
Been busy on another ROM. Expect CM7, CM9, and AOKP builds within a week or two.
Oh so youre building a 4.0 player ics rom tmcode?

Yes. Collect all three.
Got a good build, more or less. It's better than last time -- at least audio works.
Still have issues with everything else though. Home button is acting like a select, wifi is not quite working, bluetooth won't turn on, and the camera won't connect. But progress is being made.

Been working on a single kernel and pure MTD system. See other thread for details.
Unfortunately, I still haven't gotten much of the stuff working under CM9. All that really works right now is wifi and sound.
Could we have a early build to mess around with even when they only work?

There hasn't been any resent work done on this, and I'd really like to see cm9 on the galaxy player 4.0. Is there anything I could do to help?

No not really. I'm just now getting the mtd stuff going for cm7 so things are going to start rolling again soon.

Their working on a GB rom.
As you know, TW doesn't like putting out beta's or random half-cooked roms... so they need/want everything to work from step 1.
there's 2 GB roms out right now, CM7 and Double Rainbow.
Neither have GPS working.
Maybe thats why they haven't released? they haven't found a way to make GPS work yet?

From the Team Whiskey website homepage "TeamWhiskey is a development group thats dedicated to working to speed up, bug fix, lag fix, and enhance the Android user experience of their Vibrant model SGS Series Phone and more to come as projects expand.. This site is dedicated to information about our projects, ROMs, known and critical bugs and fixes, and information about upcoming and ongoing projects or additions to the project." All the phones listed in their forums are SGS phones, but the only one with any significant number of threads is the Vibrant. Relax. They'll be out with something soon.
Team whisky is working on gingerbread, vibrant is far from dead cant wait!

I think we all understand, but it would be cool to at least here from them and see how things are coming, or shoot ideas back and forth.
I doubt we'll see anymore gb roms until we get a leak for the vibrant. Edt's Double Rainbow was awesome, just no gps.
I think tw is just about finished with this phone...try explodingboy70's 2.3.3 based on sim0ne's simply galaxy...using out now...krylon is developing for the captivate and sim is m.i.a.....edt is selling roms ( not hating...just saying ), I think it's time we all look into some i9000 imports

I am not part of the cyanogenmod team, I just got bored and decided to put this together. I'm flashing a different ROM so there will be no support/fixes/further development (unless I change my mind but dont expect it)
Sync'd and built 3/28
Toastcfh's stock kernel
Wifi is borked, cyanogenmod must have updated something and broke compatibility with with the device tree I used.
I've ran it since last night after I built it and everything seemed to work (obviously excluding camera, wifi, 4g, 3D) but I haven't taken it through any thorough testing nor do I use things such as bluetooth or in-call mute so some things are untested.
Use at your own risk I am not responsible for anything wrong that happens to your phone as a result of flashing this.
Download Link: http://d-h.st/dUf
Use it, don't, mod, fix, mirror, repost, link, do whatever with it. I don't care.
Credits:
Cyanogenmod Team for the source (duh)
toastcfh for the device tree/kernel

I'm also using Jamie's Paranoid/CM10 Aug.20. I recently bought an MHL HDMI out and tried it last night on my girlfriend's TV. I was getting the same result. I was thinking that it could be the player that I was using? But the app plays the video files on my phone with no problems. It is only when I plug into the TV.
I was really hoping that the problem was not going to be the ROM.

#1 rule of XDA: Don't ask for ETAs.
I would say CM9 is 98% complete. Lots of people are reporting Bluetooth not fully working. Give our awesome devs a hug and let them know you love them.
Just hang around until they get JB going.
Is hw excel working?I don't know..I ran sum of the standard benchmark test and saw huge decrease in speed,,plus it gave Me horrible signal.,and cramps
I haven't run a benchmark on this version, but I was getting in the 6k range on Antutu last version, which is the same as Sense.
And, yes, I'm going to hug Chad with more money.

It looks like were close. Chad said he has fixed everything 100%, and everything just looks to be ROM specific.
I'm sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for a 100% JB ROM, simply because I think it will be along very soon and I hate wiping / reflashing repeatedly. What's another month after all we've been waiting?
I might cave and go for one of the CM9 ROMs or AOKP if Meadows can get it 100%, mainly because it will be official and not a fork from the ROM source.
Chad is amazing, and if I didn't have a car payment, I would have sent a hefty donation his way. Once I get some financial things settled down, I may send him a couple hundred for all his hard and amazing work.

JB is not as far off as ICS was to GB. The updates are minimal for JB where ICS was a complete rework. Let's pretend you have a house named GingerBread. For ICS, we had to demolish that house and redo the foundation. Now, the house is just about move in ready. Once we've moved in, we can decide to do some remodeling which will take a little longer (JB). The framework is already in place, the devs just need to make a few changes here and there.

I've searched many times for a beanstalk port, but I have yet to see it or I've gone past it. If there isn't a port for it, would someone be willing to port it over, because the developer Scott has recently came back to the developing world and he really does a great job, and includes many features. He's currently working on 4.4.3 kit kat too.
Flash the beanstalk firmware for the i9100, then flash RenderBroken's kernel, then reboot to system. Maybe someone will port or build it in the future, but you don't have to wait.

That is the port for the i9100, but I am not completely sure any of Scott's new builds have reached that device yet.
I have a Samsung Infuse backup, and his new builds are up on it. The link to the infuse is here,

Anyways, thanks for porting.. Much appreciation!
Thanks, Tank

Not sure about the infuse build... But i can definitely port the i9100 build... that is if my wife will relinquish the computer for a half hour. I'm not familiar with beanstalk and i wonder if the SlimSaber kernel from @cyril279 ‘s build would work. I've been very impressed with it. Also i could use a more up to date cm kernel. I could use renderbroken but there's been no updates to it since March and the stock kernels have improved quite a bit since then.

But whatever i use, I'll port it none the less and send you a download link.

What rom are you using the slimsaber kernel on?
port is uploading now btw...
Not sure what went wrong but i can't get past the setup wizard using renderbroken or SlimSaber kernel. Im going to try using a 4.4.3 cm kernel but it's going to have to wait until tomorrow night as I've got to get to bed. 5 am will be here fast.

I think I've figured out how to make this work on your phone if you're still interested.

The trick is, you've got to flash the ROM with the assert removed from the updater script, then flash the kernel, then boot the phone. After it boots, reboot into recovery and flash gaps. It gets you through the setup wizard without having to "do" the setup wizard.
