Hi!
I've got this problem long time ago, but have just ignored it. Currently I'm using Cyanogenmod 9 on my I9100 (newest nightly versions, Modem: XXLPR). The problem is when I'm starting the device with charger connected, my SIM-card not always get recognized (no PIN code notification) resulting in network problem. Sometimes it just helps to re-lock the screen and the PIN notification pops up, sometimes it's not. This issue only exist when I try to start my phone with charger connected. Without the charger, it starts without any issues.
So, I don't think that it's related to Cyanogen's nighty. I had it on MIUI GB based ROM's (2.3.7) too. I don't remember if it works on stock though, haven't been on stock ROM for a while now. Anyone having the same issue? Is my device faulty?
My IMEI number is correct so I suppose that efs folder is not corrupted (have a backup in case of failure). Thanks for you help!
Can you disable sim card pin?

It works to turn off the PIN protection, but I really want to have it on. It suppose to be working without issues?
Sorry for bumping this, but I really want to know if there is someone with the same issue or if there is a fix for this, thanks!

My wife's phone has a very weird problem. If the phone is rebooted while it's connected to the charger, the phone will have no signal after boot up. The signal bar shows a cross and the IMEI is blank. The phone is okay if you reboot again without it being charged. I have tried alot of ways to fix this problem including changing ROM (currently on criskelo v38), changing kernel (currently on NEAK v1.3.3), changing modem (currently on XXLPH), wiping dalvik, and fixing permissions. But none worked.
My own GSII doesn't have this problem. Anyone can shed any light on this?

Yah, same problem. As my wife doesn't have a sim lock, so it will show a triangle and that network is not responding or something. But it is perfectly fine on my phone. Is this problem affecting some batches?
Same problem here, I'm becoming mad. Flashing a new rom with no restored apps eases the problem for a little while, but it will do happen again. Restoring efs or changing kernel does nothing... Seems hw problem.
Ps: I also noticed a higher system cpu usage which results in higher battery drain. Phone is still usable but I don't get the same duration off charger as before.
I have this problem too, how do we fix it?

Hardware problem, I had to RMA it! It was amazingly difficult to explain the issue to the poor fella in the assistance point
I also have this problem, I just never reboot my phone when it's charging. It would be nice to fix though.
What's RMA?
Thank you

My S3 is fully working. Only the issue is power goes off automatically some time later if it is not used and left.
Does anyone help me to fix this issue?
Galaxy S3 Turns Off (Fully Off) Overnight or When Unused
Having exactly the same problem.
When my Galaxy S3 is left for a while (more than half an hour or so it seems) I find it is not in idle mode, but has fully turned itself off.
The question is, whether this is due to a crash, or intentional (which would be a terrible feature if you wanted to receive a call overnight.)
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing it? - The first S3 I had developed screen issues and exhibited similar problems, turning itself off. But it turned out that one was faulty - the screen was corrupted after a while and it would not turn back on.
So, is there a feature we can turn off which does this that we can turn off? Or is it simply a flaw, and if so is there a way to trace it with say, logs or something else?
Any help gratefully appreciated.
No problems here. Running rooted stock rom and stock kernel. Maybe you've downloaded some faulty app thats screwing your phone.

Hmm... Perhaps, but if an app can cause your phone to shut off entirely without user input?... surely that's an O/S security issue
Well, I've seen a few other people with the same issue, I suppose I could try a factory reset and try for a few days without any extra apps. (Arg! The pain of no apps!)
Widgets could be a culpret I suppose. Still, turning off entirely? Seems a bit odd.
Anyone have any more ideas?
Experienced same thing when i was still new to android. Phone just reboot itself and sometimes it lights up itself with out touching it. Then i read somewhere that it could be some app causing it so i did a fresh start. Wiped up everything and install a stock rom thru odin. From then i always read user reviews and its permissions when downloading apps and when i find the permissions fishy il pass on it.

First of all, I saw the other treads with similar names but its not the same problem.
I don't kow if it has something to do with it but in the las couple of weaks I've being installing different CM9 nightlies.
Thing is that since about a week the phone doesn't charge the battery, It does recognizes when I plug it (shows the plug icon), and even recognizes it as usb when plugged to the PC.
Also the same battery on a different phone charges normally and has a normal duration.
Also (don't know if related, but happened at the same time), the gyroscope stoped working properly, sometimes the screen turn, sometimes it doesn't.
So, to sum up:
-Battery works on other phones.
-The connector recognizes when plugged and USB works as expected.
-Also sometimes it doesn't realize that it was unplugged and keeps sayng (charging)
-Gyroscope is not working correctly.
-If I take the battery of, and connect the phone to the wall it does't react at all.
My impression is that the connector it's failing to pass juice up (either phone or battery)
Any chance this is only a softare problem?
i think it doesn't have anything to do with software...though there is a post in how to fix the non-stop-charging issue that aparently fix it...i guess it could fix urs...
any way basicaly the post said that u must format system, dalvik cache data etc and use de s2cleanner (the one that is for clean kernels) and re-install everithing again....but...i really think that both issues are hardware related...
Any change you know the link to this thread or where to download the cleaner (in google shows up a win app that I think it's not related at all)
Thanks!
I think you r using siyah kernel yes?
If u r using siyah then it is easy to fix
Cheers corey

No idea, but I have only installed CM Roms so, I guess it should be a CM kernel. If so.... what would that easy fix be?
Well I had the same problem you have a few weeks back, and it was because the cm team changed some stuff in the rom, so that with the siyah v3.3 kernel it wouldn't work, but then the siyah Dev released a newer kernel which fixed the issue.
Try flashing the latest s2 siyah kernel and see if it fix the problem
Cheers corey

Just flashed Siyah 3.3.2, but the battery is still losing juice while plugged.
Have you tried re flashing a stock rom with odin?. If r that doesn't work it means either your charger or phone r broken

Problem with USB/charging circuitry. We see it all the time on here. Back to stock/reset flash counter & send it in for warranty service.
Ok, thanks to all of you guys. Sad news there
Have you tried cleaning the connector? I'd try that before sending it off to samsung

Has anyone else been having the issue where your phone says that there is no simcard detected? I'm using the insert coin rom now, but it happened even before I rooted. it's been happening a lot more these past few days. I just want to know if anyone else has been having this issue? Is there an official HTC update to fix it?
A quick toggle of airplane mode fixes it but still...

It started happening about two weeks after I got the phone. After the 4th or 5th occurrence, I pulled the SIM and used a pencil eraser (lightly) over the contacts of the card and re-inserted. I haven't had an issue since (knocks on wood).

This has been answered several times please use the search function. Posts like this are cluttering up the boards. This seems to be a design issue. More specifically the card is loose on the tray. Pop it out and put it back in. It won't fix the issue but most users have found it stays working longer.

Hi, Hope this post finds all of you in good health.
My poco f1 stopped reading/detecting my SIM card, it all started when my phone was charging (My battery is kind of decent, and it can't fast charge because of water damage (slipped into the pool accidentally)). So I was using and charging my phone and I noticed that the battery percentage gone to 0% and stupid me I kept using it and all of the sudden it shuts down by its own. When I powered it on after 20 minutes, the sim was gone! I had a custom ROM and I kept flashing other ROMS but nothing worked. So I had to flash the stock miui ROM, but that didn't work either so I gave up. After three days I decide to try my luck and insert the sim, and it worked!! But once I reboot the device the sim was gone no matter what I do. I left the device another 5 days I tried my luck again and it worked again. The thing is I don't even know what I did to make it worked!
Could it be a hardware issue or a software issue?
And if I changed the kernel would that help or it doesn't do anything?
**IMEI number still exsists but the IMSI is unknown.
**Wifi is working fine but no sim card detected.
Thanks for your time reading my post

I would guess it's a hardware failure.
But I have had a SIM card go bad as well.
Test with a new SIM.
