Hi guys,
My iPhone just broke and I had to get a Samsung Galaxy SII
It doesn't seem like I can use any of the cool functions of the iPhone like iCloud and iCal. Is there a way to hack your Samsung to make it like the iPhone???
Please help!!!!! im desperate!!!!!!!!
more than enough suitable replacements, and you now have a much better device. get yourself drop box and or box.net and you will have plenty of free cloud back up. Sync your ical with gmail on your pc then sync your google calendar and you should be set. I am not sure why you would think you can sync icloud with an android device, unless this is a fraud post, if so i am an idiot
Oh please..
You did not HAVE to buy a SGS2.. So if you so desperately want an iPhone I suggest you return it, and buy an iPhone.

I use and app called Screebl. It was free app of the day one day on the amazon app store. It uses the accelerometer when the screen is on to keep the screen on when it is held and an angle that you set it to. When the phone is laid flat face down or up the screen will go off after the amount of time you set but as long as your holding it at any other angle the screen will stay on. Here's the free version on the market

there is absolutely no reason for that feature not being present on our device , other then samsung wishes to push purchase of the latest toy , if someone can confirm there is nothign on the kernel side for this , I can most probably port whats missing in the frmaework ...

What I am hoping is that once ICS Sources are released for our phone and SG3 (if it is not out already), we can get a full ROM port.

Not on Android, no. Just to simplify: Say you have device A on which you purchased an app with [email protected].
Now if you want to use the same app in device B, you will need to be logged on in Google with the same id, [email protected]. If you are logged in on device B with [email protected], you will not be able to share the app that you purchased on device A logged in with [email protected]
This is because all your purchases are linked to the Google account you purchased them on.

Thanks for the answer, I'm in a similar boat. I know I can't do iCrap apps, but here's my situation: I just bought a Nexus 7 for my stepson. I have an existing G(everything) account. I've spent a good chunk of change on apps. I'd like to be able to setup his 7 with my app store, but not give him access to all my things google. It's not so bad with him, but he goes to his dads and the last thing I want is his dad having access to all my things Google.
I'm pretty good with rooting and flashing, so that's an option. Even moving .APKs from one to the other I could do with a little help and trial and error. Any ideas? Is this possible out of the box? And with 4.2 having different users, is this something I can take advantage of? His bday is not for a week or two and I have the 7, so I may just experiment a little. (that's my excuse for cracking it open, and I'm sticking to it!)

Because it's not like this feature would be used always anyway. I'm sure you yourself can think of many situations where this would come handy. I love the huge screen.. don't get me wrong, but it'll be nice if this would be made to work for those situations where you just can't use both hands.
The benefit is obvious here over using a galaxy s3 mini or iphone.. you can have the large screen as well as a smaller one hand usable screen as well.

I have already checked with the developer.
As of now, he has NO plans to make it for Galaxy Note 2 !!
Below is his reply:
Hi,Note2 uses different kernels drivers, so it is not really possible to do it easily. Also Note2 already has quite a few settings helping with one handed usage. So for now I have no plans for porting this app to Note2.

The point is that sometimes you just need to do something one handed. The one handed program isn't something you turn on 24x7. It's sort of an emergency option when you need it.

I am really pissed at Samsung for giving the i9300 1Gb RAM and the i9305 2Gb RAM.
I feel cheated. My S3 was my graduation gift and the big smartphone nerd that I am, I like to have the best. Then why the f*** did Samsung have to do this?
Also the Note 2 got 2Gb RAM. Hell I could've bought the Note 2! It's way better! Battery life and all! And dammit it sold forthe same pricetag!
I9300 lags horribly with the TouchWiz launcher and Samsung ROMs but the Note 2 and i9305 JUST DONT LAG!
What's done is done. I can't sell my S3 and buy a new phone now. I just want closure. WHY DID SAMSUNG HAVE TO CHEAT ME SO BAD?
P.S.: What are the differences between i9300 & i9305 except the LTE and 2Gigs?

Well I spent the full price for it at the time, 570 euros and I regret doing that. Should've stuck with my Gnex until the N4 and then bought that.
1 Gb is not the problem. Crapwiz is. Install an AOSO Rom and see how good multitasking can be. On the other hand you can still despise Samsung for not releasing sources
