It may start coming later today but it wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't come at all. It's Android, since when do they Google/manufacturers do things on a timely manner when it comes to official updates?

Don't believe everything you read on the internet. That's how World War II was started.
It's 5:30am on the West Coast and 8:30a on the East. Lazy suits that make millions don't do Jack before 12pm.
Give it time.
I bet that there will be no ics today :-D
Don't we typically see some sort of "whats in this release" document from Verizon before any updates. I remember seeing them on all the updates even the last minor one.

The update is coming very soon. An ICS update has been leaked. There are multiple people posting that they received soak test invites. None have posted that it has started. The update will come a few days after the soak test starts if there are no major issues. I would be surprised if it was more than a few weeks.

From what I understand the soak test was pulled do to a problem with the sideloading. They have to fix that issue before the soak testers can even test it. So who knows when we will get it now.

Sorry but I call BS. I doubt Verizon does phased rollouts based on ESN assigned to where you bought the phone. The overhead and expense of doing that is astronomical.
That and you have nothing to back it up besides wishy washy logic.

You're comparing the average iPhone users to the most informed Android users. The average Android user has never even heard of Ice Cream Sandwich.
I do think it is ridiculous that the RAZR was advertised as "ICS upgradeable," and six months later there is still no official date set for release. I don't understand how Motorola even got away with advertising the phone that way. They should have said "Gingerbread, with the possibility that before your contract is up in two years there may be an update to ICS."
I've got ICS. It's amazing.

Did you really buy it to just sit there in agony until ICS was released? Suffer horribly under Gingerbread until the promise of a new OS became reality? Really?

In some way i understand and even envy you. GSIII is far more superior than RAZR, with hardware and software.
Software update from samsung? And who need it today, if there is large XDA movement. New roms, roots method, great camera mod from yesterday. If samsung does not provide JB for gs3, developers form here will do it!
And what we have? Nice, slim (only original razr) phone with locked bootloader and webdock app, that 97% of users do not use because absence of dock.
Motorola will forget about this phone when 4.0.4 will be aired (someday, if they don't forget), and there is no visible chances for unlocked bootloader, although motorola promised this (i bet there is a inside joke about this in their company).
I am afraid, that motorola can jump with something stupid, after release of the RAZR HD.

i'll be heading to the S3 soon as well! no moto support and locked bootloaders = unhappy camper.
I've kind of shifted into "a phone is a phone" mode. No compelling differentiation anymore for me with all the tech advances - I don't want a larger screen and don't need a faster CPU or more memory. But having said that, I'll probably upgrade next year to either Samsung or HTC. Moto's "lock it down hard for corporate IT departments" doesn't work for me as a consumer.

Official jellybean will not come before christmas as official ICS isnt even scheduled till Q4. My thoughts are that if they do not release official ics for the atrix, they will 'not' release it for the photon. If they do release it, however, then yes we will have fully working jb by christmas. But not officially from moto.
"Say Apple one more MoPho'n time..."
Well they did promise most Android Motorola phones released in 2011 will be getting Jellybean before the end of the year and if not will be receiving a 100 dollors towards an upgrade, to Motorola of course. They are Google owned now, it's not entirely impossible ...

So if rumor has it we will be getting JB on our Droid Razr's and suspected time frames are saying Q'1? http://www.droid-life.com/2012/10/1...-which-phones-will-get-the-update/#more-86510
Question is where are the leaks? With ICS the leaks were out for months before its initial release! I'm ready to start seeing real moto leaks! :good:
But also in other news Rumor over on Droid-Life is that the Razr/Maxx may be recieving 4.2.2 a.k.a. KLP Q'2/3
so are we going to bypass JB and go straight there? http://www.droid-life.com/2012/10/2...-and-key-lime-pie-update-schedule/#more-87108
I'm just looking for answers are they using different update servers now and we can't access them like we could
before, or is no one looking or tried yet because we know its coming?

Motor can say the razr will get it... However Verizon must approve it. Vzw can say no we want to make them buy a new phone such as the razr hd at full price if they don't qualify for a discount which by the way c Verizon wants to end device subsidies.

If they want us to upgrade phones then don't charge us $200 flipping dollars for a new phone every couple of months or full price!! You sell better quality phones then your going to have to deal with people keeping them longer!! Moto has always made great quality phones software was a little lacking but now this RAZR is awesome both software and hardware I plan on keeping it as long as possible!!!
