Hi,
So, I left T-mobile since their 4G network is great if you are in the 100 foot radius that they actually have reception in. I just purchased the RAZR MAXX from Verizon today and I am looking through the motorola website out of boredom and I found this on the RAZR MAXX site by motorola.
http://www.motorola.com/Consumers/U...bile-Phones/DROID-RAZR-MAXX-by-MOTOROLA-US-EN
It says on the bottom right ICS upgradeable. Just thought it was kinda funny lol
Yeah that is kinda funny. I just got the RAZR and i was told that they dont know when we are going to get ICS.

ICS for the RAZR & RAZR MAXX is supposed to be dropped in Q2, but might (big might) come a lil earlier, as there are leaked screenshots of ICS running on one or the other already...

The only phone that's running an official ICS beta (that I'm aware of) is the GSM Razr that was released in China, the XT or MT 917 (Same shape as the Razr but with a 13MP rear camera and one or two other tweaks).
when we will get Jellybeans....Lol
There are CDMA ICS Roms available for the Razr for about 3 weeks now...
The best out seems to be Axiom Rom.... current verison is AB8 now... It is a port from the Nexus with some code from leaked verisons as well. Axiom is just about the same as CM9 but with a good bit of mods to it to make it much more stable and faster....those developers are working together to some extent...
I suggest if there is still a link to go over to the Developers site and look for it... or do a google search....

Don't believe everything you read on the internet. That's how World War II was started.
It's 5:30am on the West Coast and 8:30a on the East. Lazy suits that make millions don't do Jack before 12pm.
Give it time.
I bet that there will be no ics today :-D
Don't we typically see some sort of "whats in this release" document from Verizon before any updates. I remember seeing them on all the updates even the last minor one.

The update is coming very soon. An ICS update has been leaked. There are multiple people posting that they received soak test invites. None have posted that it has started. The update will come a few days after the soak test starts if there are no major issues. I would be surprised if it was more than a few weeks.

From what I understand the soak test was pulled do to a problem with the sideloading. They have to fix that issue before the soak testers can even test it. So who knows when we will get it now.

Sorry but I call BS. I doubt Verizon does phased rollouts based on ESN assigned to where you bought the phone. The overhead and expense of doing that is astronomical.
That and you have nothing to back it up besides wishy washy logic.

Let's get this update out of yer cache folder and where it belongs!

You're comparing the average iPhone users to the most informed Android users. The average Android user has never even heard of Ice Cream Sandwich.
I do think it is ridiculous that the RAZR was advertised as "ICS upgradeable," and six months later there is still no official date set for release. I don't understand how Motorola even got away with advertising the phone that way. They should have said "Gingerbread, with the possibility that before your contract is up in two years there may be an update to ICS."
I've got ICS. It's amazing.

And to all who are claiming they'll sell their phones, I'll give the same response I did over in the Acer Iconia A500 section... WHY would you buy a phone you were unhappy with? Did you really buy it to just sit there in agony until ICS was released? Suffer horribly under Gingerbread until the promise of a new OS became reality? Really?
Same offer- I'll give you $50 for your oh-so-hated Gingerbread Razr. $55 if it's a Maxx.

Is Verizon ever going to update these phones or even say anything about updating. I'm so tired of leak after leak the last leak was reported as being rock solid can we not just have ics already ive been holding off because it's so hard to get back from the leaks I didn't want to push it. We're all tired of waiting as well. Personally i'm sick and tired of constantly scouring the net in hopes of finding that one glimmer of hope. Frankly speaking it will be here when it gets here and all of the frustration that we all feel regarding the lack of communication will all be forgotten when it arrives. So hang in there, it won't be much longer.

Ah but the question is when it gets here will we all be wanting jelly bean next. I am thinking it will be a never ending cycle from now on knowing these phones would run it as well. Why does Verizon not just let the updates happen without all the bloat that is what slows down development on the manufacturer side knowing that the phone and software has to work with the carriers bloat that's why the nexus was good and got ICS out of the box because big red didn't have a hand in it at all just had to work on the network! If there was a better network here locally I'd switch but I'm stuck with them until something better comes along [email protected] crappy carriers!
Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX using XDA
I doubt we'll be getting jelly bean. Can our phones support it? Probably, but it doesn't make sense for motorola and verizon to keep giving software updates to handsets when their overall goal is sales. Yes it does make customers happy when the devices get updates, but customers are also happy getting a good deal on a new phone too.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using XDA
In my experience waiting anxiously for the latest/greates OS upgrades..... I've always been underwhelmed. Sometimes, it is even a step backwards for a month or two until things are ironed out correctly. My RAZR works great as is. I have ICS on my transformer tab, and yeah, it is an upgrade, but not that huge of one. Mostly, I really like the ICS browser better. Would like it on my RAZR. Besides that, not sure if it will "really" be all that much different than what we have now. Guess is what I'm saying is I want ICS on my RAZR, but I'm not up in arms about it. Happy enough as is, hoping the upgrade is a slight improvement but until then not a big issue.
The difference between wanting Jelly Bean and wanting ICS is pretty different. We have access to ICS in one way or another right now, whether it be through a leak or through a different device...IE the GNex. ICS is such an upgrade from GB it isn't funny. They are night and day in regards to looks and especially performance. The fact that there has been a promised time frame, on top of people already trying out ICS is making the wait for its release that much harder. Once we have ICS on here, in an official form, I think a lot of people will be happy.
Jelly bean?
Pttt... We won't get it till "android 7 pinkie pie" will come out.
Sent from my XT910 using XDA
I'm sure your all right I'm just sorry it has taken so long for all of us. Yes I'm happy with the way my phone runs now and will wait as long as I have to, but to not hear anything about it from Verizon period kinda pisses me off I know a lot of you probably paid for your phone's and deserve the update more than me I have 40 bucks invested in my previous phone (LG Revolution) it died and I talked them into giving me a brand new razr MAXX for a replacement but I'd still like to have a great operating system that works like ics does. Maybe the 12th is the magic day and they will start rolling it out.

Well, the rumored date is June 12th, 2012. Let's hope for it... and hope that it isn't June 12th 2013 instead.. I just got this phone, gingerbread is great on it but ICS would be even better. I only tried one of the leaks that I could fb back to .181, and it was okay but hopefully ICS comes out soon
I'm really looking forward to the OTA, but only because I am hoping for the rumored unlocked bootloader (which I doubt) and for the developer community to start kicking out some bad ass ROM's for it. I am sure a month after the update comes I will be looking for a new ROM. The developers here are awesome and they always seem to add the things that are missing. So just a huge thank you to the XDA community and all the awesome developers. You all have made owning an Android phone such a fun and rewarding experience.
Crossing my fingers for 6/12 so I can flash from 4.0.3 to the real ICS and see what you all can do with it.
