How to uninstall stuck game - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hope this is in the right place.
I downloaded & installed this game to test it out...
Code:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cupra.rec&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5jdXByYS5yZWMiXQ..
but I now cant un-install it. if I go to app setting I can press un-install but it just doesn't remove it. I have app monster pro on my phone but the game doesn't show up under installed apps so cant use that to remove it. the game files take up 1gb of space & I want it back!
pls help?
EDIT> I managed to sort it myself, can a mod pls lock/delete this thread pls?

Install Titanium back, perhaps this program will see the game. Otherwise, just delete the files, so you have your space back.
Most of the time this works for me.

of course, I just deleted the game files on my sd card then once I had done that it simply un-installed easily from with in Appmonster pro. I think the un-installer was having trouble with the nearly 1gb in size game files

[Q] Galaxy W GTi8150 - memory problem. HELP

I am new to android , being a WM ex-pat, so forgive my ignorance. Had this new phone a couple of weeks now and have encountered a big problem with it. At first it seemed fine, but after a week it ran out of internal sd memory, despite only having 250mb worth of stuff on it, the1.7 gb was full.
Cut a long ..etc. Seems sd/android/data/com.cooliris.media/cache/hires-image-cache ,is the culprit.
Every time media scanner runs it fills this cache folder with DUPLICATES (I suspect) of what has already been scanned, instead of adding only new stuff.
consequently the internal sd memory fills in less than a day.
I figured that rooting was the answer, so have successfully rooted, (with help of this forum, ) and tried using autostarts to disable media scanning , but , of course that means I cant access any media without it running. Since i havent been able to find an answer to this anywhere else, wonder if someone could tell me how to
sort this problem,?? (as its driving me nuts!!) Thanks folks.
sorry,don'know why
I don,t know why but since you know how to root then maybe this can help :
1. Install Titanium Backup from Market, the free version is suficient for the task. From backup/restore tab above, find "Gallery". Tap on it then select freeze. This means your Gallery app is still intact but won't run anymore.
2. Delete your culprit cache
3. Now as an alternative to Gallery app, you can use QuickPic from market.
Well, hope this solves your issue.
Thanks Distan7, - Took your advice and it done the trick!! (so far at least!)- (Had to get Tb full tho, as lite doesnt allow freezing!) This method beats my recent solution, hands down, which was to use prog called "gallery lock" to hide media from m.scanner, but its a long winded pain to use.! Tianium backup is a brilliant app! Many thanks for your help.
You're welcome mate, sorry I forgot that you need TB full to freeze apps. You could backup then uninstall Gallery using TB free, but I fear something bad might happen. Anyway TB is a great app with lots of useful features.
Hope the trick lasts
Hi a golden rule, as long your phone is rooted, a smart idea is that if you have TB and want to unistall a system app make sure at least to back it up before you unistall it!
Nothing is true....everything is permitted...

[Q] Prime hdd nearly full!

Hi guys
My Prime has nearly full to capacity!
I have tons of apps and games and such, well lots of big download files.
Im not convinced that if i uninstall the game the downloaded data goes with it, hence the 800mb+ gameloft crud what comes with it.
is the there a simple app to delete in one click?
Im rooted if needed!
Kindest!
Check Astro File Manager, it has a built-in storage manager which will list folders by their size.
So it'll basically it'll list what folders are the biggest, so you can see if its from gameloft and then delete it if you don't need it.
EDIT: Perhaps get a Cache Cleaner app and let it clean out various caches from the storage? (Be careful though, and set it up, so it doesn't delete stuff you need.)
did you download the stuff from the market or off the internet? if you downloaded off the internet go to the downloads folder and delete the stuff in it.
also try getting a micro sd card and move some stuff over to it.

Try DiskUsage
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.diskusage
Very useful to have a graphical view of disk and to quickly find files/folders to delete.

Gameloft stuff does tend to stick behind, and when deleting you might have trouble differentiating between the games you've had. Their naming conventions for their folders are a bit off, so you'll have to go by some trial and error.
Worst case scenario - you'll need to redownload the data again for the games you still have.

[Q] Not allowed to install more apps

When I try to install any apk from explorer or market i get an error: "not enought space avaliable in device" (in spanish something similar), but i´ve got 2.5 gb free memory.
If i uninstall an app then i can install another one, seems like there was a limite with number of apps installed in my device. I´ve got more than 350 apps installed, yes i know it´s a lot, but i´ve got enought space for more why can´t install more?.
Thought since ICS there was no limit in number of apps installed, since desappeared partitions in internal storage, which there used to be in honeycomb, etc....where there was a limit of space for apps partition.

I doubt it's an app limit in ICS. For some reason, that space is unusable to you. Sounds like you would just have to uninstall some apps to make room for more. If you want to clear cache on all of your apps it should give you enough room for another app or 3.
Please forgive me if my reply is incorrect, but first are you sure this isnt ghe error letting you know there is no more space on your home screen, which would mean it installed but its just not showing the icon anywhere other than the app drawer, i know its probably not but i figured i would mention. And finaly what is the size of the app you arr trying to install? Also it may be that android requires at least a gig or two of free space to run for temp files and such, again i may be wrong its just a guess.

The size of the app does not matter, i´ve proved with diferents apps with diferents sizes, and the same happened, even if i uninstall a big app and try to install 2 apps smaller, i can install only one.
You might have conflicting apps. For example, if you tried to install an update or another version of the same app.

First time it happens was installing an app, android proccess for installing packets closed itself, Prime rebooted itself, and since then i get that message of lack of space when trying to install any app. May be a cassuality? But first app that maybe caused everything was a new app, so no problems about updates conflictions.

No, the app is not installed, does not show neither the home screen nor the app drawer. About the temp files use, in the past i had less free space with less installed apps and never had this problem. And there is no relation with the size of the app to install, i,ve tried with less than 1mb apps, and if i uninstall an app for example of 34mb i only get to install another one, if i try to install 2 apps of 1mb i only can install one of them.

Hi, Here I Want To Share And Also Someone Let Me Know If It Wrong

[Please move it if wrong thread]
Hi, I just recently played one of the Gameloft games, Wild Blood. Have you try it?
I really like it, the graphics, the gameplay and many things but the problem I found after playing it several level. It save a big size of the game data, from the first town to the second town it already have a data about 50MB saved on our internal memory. I really like this game, but I need more free internal memory. I try to search on Google but did not found the answer that I really needs. So, I did some research(XD). I try to move the data directory to SDcard, to /cache, to /dev and /sdext2 but found no one works like what i've expected. So, still give a try then I move the folder called "Profiling" on the /data/data/com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftWBHM/AOWGame/ to the /data/sdext2/data/ the by using Root Explorer I create link to the folder profiling folder.
Detail explaination, after move "Profiling" to /data/sdext2/data/ it will look like /data/sdext2/data/Profiling then tap and hold the "Profiling" until the menu show choose "Link to this folder" then you go to /data/data/com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftWBHM/AOWGame/ and tap the "Create Link", you are done. Now the data will be moved to the Ext partition
Try to run the game, I can run it without any problem. Game still can be saved normally.
If you need to un-install the apps you might need to delete the folder on your /data/sdext2/ manually.
Your sdcard need to be partitioned.
This method I made based on my analytics, tested on ext2 partition type and should work on another type of partition too(I think). Also tested on DgunnerZ because it also have a big size of data. Planning to move data of Facebook too..
Disclaimer:
-I'm not an Android Developers, maybe you can call me techno geek
-I'm not responsible if this method will break your phone, btw if it break a phone my phone will be breaked first XD
-The folder I mentioned above is only for Wild Blood, for another application the folder that need to be linked must be difference.
The - effect of this, it might a bit slow down your apps since read and write to sdcard is not faster as on internal memory.
For developers, is this method i'm using ok? Will it have any negative effect? If it good, I hope someone got any idea and can make this way better and easier.
Sorry for my English, hope you can understand.
Nice idea..i had a game which would just hog the internal as the game progressed..so i guess i'll try this..and i think the only side effect maybe that the game would load a liltle slower.. but thats ok.. thanks for the trick..
and btw this should've been in general not q&a..

I understand xda considers this app as a bad thing to talk about. I just dont see it that way.

I want to use this app for a legit reason. My s5 is a 16gig phone. I am running out of memory. Some apps just will not move to sd card. i was told to google this app and download it. Let it odex all files on my phone. It even says it frees up space on tool tip. Would this be a safe idea? Also i see that with 1 click i can wipe the dalvik cache. I use root explorer to do that, but thats a few clicks just to do that. Another reason i like luckly patcher.
So again, please mods dont close this topic till i get a straight answer about odex all files. Just cant get a google search to give me a direct answer. Also if odex the files is safe, would i have to stay away from clearing the dalvik cache? I play marvel avengers alliance on android. Tap joy gives free in game currency for downloading apps off play store. So after every 10 apps i uninstall ,i clear dalvik.

Odexing files will not necessarily free up disk space. If (at best) it may give you a very slight increase in boot time, that is it. If you want to try and force apps to sdcard then i would try to use an app like titanium backup. Most likely though you would probably benefit more from seeking out what us using all your space. Their are many disk analyzing apps in the store that will help you. if you play some games though, a lot of them download and store many mb of data on your sdcard for the game to function properly and it cannot be removed to play the game.

I suggest using folder mount. You can place internal folders onto the external memory card and use folder mount to mount that external folder to the internal one.
