[Q] Rezound will not boot. Orange LED flashes sometimes... - HTC Rezound

Last night I relocked my bootloader, updated to the new leaked RUU, unlocked the bootloader, then went to flash a custom recovery via adb. Now my phone will not turn on.
No recovery or bootloader.
Using this method - http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1552531.html
I can get the orange light to come on, besides that, nothing.
I have run out of ideas and would greatly appreciate any help.
Thank you

Sounds like a dead battery. Mine was doing the same thing yesterday after flashing sense4.0. Had to just leave it plugged in for like 15 minutes before it would turn back on.
If you pull the battery (then re-insert) and hold down the volume down button with power does it boot into bootloader?

I will try that, I left it on the charger last night, but it was cold to the touch this morning. However the led was not on.
I also tried sense 4.0 yesterday but decided to go for scott's developer rom.
I will try and make sure the orange light is on it is charging.
Thanks
And thanks for the quick reply.
EDIT
My phone refused to charge the battery, I still do not know why. I ended up borrowing my brother's Thunderbolts battery. Now it works...

Do you have CWM or Amon RA recovery installed? The reason I ask is if you have CWM installed you can't charge your battery when the device isn't booted.

That makes sense, I have CWM. Do you thin Amon-Ra is better?
The Rezound is my first HTC. And I have used CWM in the past.
Should I switch and would I just flash it via adb?

i had the same prob yesterday night.i was on leedroid, but todayi chnage to anthrax. till now no reboot or unexpected shutdown. i guess it was for kernel.
thank you, that's what i thought,
I love Lee's Rom and don't want to change maybe i should try another Kernel...
Two weeks since i flashed this rom and it happens only once.
Do flashimage GUI works to flash kernel when S ON ?

actually i dont know for sure. im S off with revolutionary. freedom of choice for rom and I also lik leedroid rom but i dont want to find my phone death in sleep. so move to anthrax. anthrax is also cool but little less battery life.
maybe i'll try another rom
I have same problem
Reason: Custom Rom
edit: and battery on 0%
Solution:
1) Plug-in usb in computer and in phone
2) Start command promp in folder where you have fastboot.exe ( hold shift and right click in folder -> select run command promp here )
3) type-in without quotes "fastboot boot bootloader"
4) phone will boot bootloader ( or you can type "fastboot boot system" for boot android, but I don't try it )
5) wait some time
6) unplug and turn off phone
7) now turn on normaly and tadá it will boot
If it helps click on Thank button ;-)
I had this happen a day after I installed Leedroid 5.4, batt was on about 80% and i finished a phone call. 5 mins later phone would not respond, had to pull battery. Fixed permissions and rebooted.
No problems since
I saw other people with this issue in the Rom thread...
For me it happen once in two weeks with this Rom so if it is a known bug and my phone has no problem, i won't complain this rom is great
Well, sometimes if u kill the battery the phone thinks its dead even if you try to charge it etc etc.....
If u kill the battery and it won't turn on.. pull the battery... Tap the power button a couple times( removes any remaining juice in any of the circuits etc etc....) Put the battery back in and then try to charge it....

1. Even though the power is on, callers tell me they cannot get thru and the msg they receive says the phone is power off, when actually the phone is on.
I do not know what rom the previous owner haas installed on the phone.
The phone says android is 4.0.3. HTCSense is 3.6. Software number 2.96.652.5.71ORD.
What should i do?
I have a problem where my phone freezes then shuts off and no red light when I try to charge. I have to pull the battery for 5-30 minutes before I put the battery back in and it turns on.
I am s-off
Hboot 1.49.007
Stock Rom + root
Currently using mirage kernel
I have tried reflashing different roms and kernels but my.phone still.shuts off
I don't want to say its a hardware problem just yet but I think it's starting to look like it

Won't turn on or charge.

Okay, so recently, maybe a week ago, I unlocked bootloader, tried to root, but failed.
So I installed a recovery image to the Rezound using the clockwork mod (I believe).
Now, my phone's battery went all the way to 0% and died, and now it won't accept a charge or turn on.
Every once in a while it will turn on, but only for a minute, then shut back down.
One time, I got into ADB and tried "adb reboot" and my phone went into a sort of bootloop, but was still sort of charging.
But now the device isn't recognized and won't do it again.
Can anyone please help me?
yer gonna get bopped for not using the search function!
Anyway, this should get you started...
Flash AmonRa. Clockwork has issues around charging if the battery goes completely dead.

Go buy another battery from Verizon or online... Or take a battery out of a friends phone and flash amonra... Or u can try and take out the battery plug the phone in and get to hboot menu and flash amonra there

[Q] [Solved] Discharged phone, prevent from booting?

Hello, I accedentially discharged my phone really bad to the point where the red notification light flashes when I plug the phone in.
I know that I have to charge up the phone before doing anything, but HTC's settings are being a pain.
As soon as the minimum charge for booting is met, the phone just reboots straight away.
This leads to the phone trying to boot with about 0.0001% battery, and it dies in the process, and the charge goes up a little... and it loops again.
Is there any way to just simply stop the phone from booting?
EDIT:
Tried the following things:
Plugging it in for 2 seconds, then unplugging, repeat 100 times - Failed
Fastbooting every time the phone tries to boot, and selecting power down - Tried about 100 times and I see no future
Plug it in and try to hard reboot by holding power button until capacitive buttons flash 6 times, or

Trying now...
It didn't work, it doesn't get past "Quietly Brilliant".
I read guides, they all say to eject the battery...
I guess I will turn it off via fastboot, let it sit for some time, and charge it after some minutes. I will see what I can do...
So your device is unlocked, have recovery?

Yep. The phone is unlocked and has TWRP recovery.
The phone is in a complex situation. I have no clue when it died. It might have been when I was away when I was waiting for a ROM to install.
Someone please help me... I don't want a Tegra 3 paperweight X+ this early...
I read about people simply charging their phone while it is off in the One X forums, but what do I do if the phone keeps waking itself and commiting suicide?
P.S. Booting in to recovery doesn't work... It goes as far as the TeamWin splash screen before discharging.
Have you tried using a different charger? Maybe one from a tablet, with more throughput...

I would try this, but I don't have any other charger.
Should I buy one somewhere?
Edit:
Could you give me a link to a powerful charger?
From what I understand, your recovery controls your ability to charge your phone WHEN THE PHONE IS OFF, which is the case when you drain your battery to 0%.
It is also my understanding that TWRP for the OneX+ DOES NOT have the ability to charge your device in recovery...and since it controls the ability to charge the device when the device is turned off, your device cannot be charged when turned off with TWRP on the OneX+.
My last understanding is that in order to charge the OneX+ when the device is off the stock recovery must be installed.
All of this is just my understanding from every thing I have read. You may be better off looking for help in Lloir's Recovery thread for the OneX+.
Let us know if you get resolution!
Edit: A "stronger" charger isn't the answer.

So... do I use the RUU?
I have the EVITARE_UL_CINGULAIR RUU downloaded, I just gotta relock the thing and flash the stock recovery.
Where do I get the stock recovery? If I can get my hands on it, I can flash it after what seems to be a decade of fastbooting and powering off.

I believe if you can flash the RUU...that loads the stock recovery over TWRP. The prolblem is...I don't think you can flash an RUU without your device charged to at least 30%...I may be wrong....
EDIT:
Again, Lloir would be able to give you much better advice than I can!

First try charging your phone in bootloader, if that does not work, ask lloir or someone for a stock recovery.img and flash it from fastboot, there is no need to flash a ruu

I tried charging in Bootloader, it doesn't work.
I asked Lloid for help but the offline charging he suggested didn't work.
Edit:
I'm tired of hearing the phone boot-suicide every other second. Should I just send it in to HTC? How much would they charge for the battery fix?

Just flash CWM. It lets me charge while off. Or take it to a store and ask them to pop ur battery in a display model and charge it for 5 mins

off mode charging should work on AT&T device just plug in the charger while the phone is off, it will "boot" so to speak into offmode charging...you should see black screen and your led should be orange

Weird, the phone boots, the display turns off, but the phone then boots again, infinitely.
I don't know what I did that makes it do so.
I just have to find the AT&T stock recovery.img. I will post a new thread for that, marking this thread as "[Solved]".
Edit:
Once I find the stock recovery.img, I'm totally making a step-by-step unbricking guide.

Phone will no longer turn on after flashing Rom

I just tried flashing Android Revolution to my phone. I went through the whole set up process. Went to reboot then it went blank. Nothing. I get nothing when I plug it in. The computer doesn't recognize any device attached to it. I've tried removing the battery. If I leave the battery out for an extended period of time, when I place it back in the phone, my camera flash flashes really quick then back to nothing. It's as if the phone is completely dead. When I flashed the rom my battery was at 90%. I've used various roms on different phones and this was the first time I did it to my Galaxy s3 and this is the first time it's ever happened. Talk about frustrating. Any help would be appreciated but I'm not holding my breath. It doesn't look good.
Congratulations!
You're phone is now a piece of brick!
Board failure!
If your phone goes to download mode you can repair it by jtag and if it doesn't power on anyway and it's still under warranty, you can ask them to change your phone or repair that.
Cause there's no way to understand you've installed a custom os

Fairly certain I did but I'm pretty sure it's a moot point now. If I could get any sign of life, I'd use Odin to unbrick and go back to stock. Anyhow for now, it makes a great paper weight.

red light when charging, red flashing light when trying to turn the phone on

I just woke up to find my phone off and trying to turn it back on just isn't working.
I don't know what to do here and taking the case off has took off one of the ports on the side.

Sounds like a corrupt boot partition, is your boot loader unlocked? have you recently flashed a boot image?
Reflash with fastboot else use sony's update service to reflash firmware, if that don't work then your phone may be screwed?

I haven't flashed or done anything.
I've stayed well clear of anything like that with this phone.
It is on stock firmware.
Then your best bet is to use sony's update service, I think it is called pc companion and reflash your firmware, it will ask you to hold the down volume button and connect the USB cable and then it will return your phone back to factory. That's all I can think of else return the phone and get them to fix or replace it.
alright the phone just came back on by itself but it isn't charging.
Alrighty then.

Or yes i guess the red light could also indicate low battery, good thinking
and now it is charging because it jumped from 1% to 2%
so ye problem solved I guess I just hope to god I can find a way to put those things covering the charger port and sim card back on.
