I am looking for good laucher for my XS device. Can you guy help?
Lots to choose from mate. It's personal preference.
Nemus launcher, go launcher ex and ss launcher are 3 that get used a lot.
Sent from my XperiaS via transwarp conduit.
I've tried many and keep coming back to stock.
go ex is a little bit lag on XS, dont know why. i used it b4
im now using Nemus
Stock is fine .
Use it for xperia play , arc S and xperia S
tried go launcher , adw launcher and back to the earth :X
Nemus is actually pretty good...the stock was awesome, but I really like a scrollable dock
Currently using stock, I like it. Only wish workspaces had 5 rows

I have to chip in and say that the Xperia S is the first android phone that I've owned that I haven't used a 3rd party launcher because I really like the stock one.
I am really happy with the Sony launcher.
Thanks guys and gals.. I stick with stock one then....

i'm my opinion it's the best choice
I have been on Launcher Pro and been pretty satisfied. But its totally a personal preferences.
I also tried lots of launcher. But end of the day I had to come back to stock. Stock is super smooth. No issues at all.
Stock is the best you will get well i think anyways. cant wait for ics i think we all will be loving it
Just hope Sony can do better with ICS then what HTC and samsung have done, so many issues with their phones since the ICS upgrades.
I'm very happy with the stock launcher as is, i also used modded versions of the ARC launcher on my previous devices below.
-smc
I'm using ADW Ex and finding it a lot smoother than stock, but then again I switched after about 10 minutes with stock so can't be sure. Stock was laggy for me when I first tried it though, and ADW is just smooth.

The problems i find with any 3rd party launcher is that things like the email and message notification does not then work on the icons. You only get the notification bar and i like to see how many unread there maybe on the icon itself.
As other members have said, it's all about personal preference. When I had my X10 Mini Pro, I tried tons of one launchers and Go Launcher Ex was easily the best for me. Even since having my Xperia S, I'm using the same and having no problems whatsoever.

Yep, personal taste, but I always come back to Go Launcher EX as well, no problems with it at all.
Verstuurd van mijn LT26i met Tapatalk
I've been through them all and Sony's stock I think is the best, the rest seem...dated, amateurish
I do wish the stock had the customization of other launchers but it's pro's outweighs its cons, and Sony widgets only work with it too, and they have good widgets

tried almost every launcher existed and can run on ace, but almost instantly reverted to zeam launcher. zeam launcher ftw

I came across Helix in some website .
It *used to* be downloadable from the Market but now we can't .
Helix launcher uses the 2.1 style App Drawer and I think is personally faster than ADW .

Zeam, light and simple.
I've used LP, ADW, QQ, GO.
In my opinion GO launcher Ex is the way to go.
The only downside is the small icons.
Respond to Serri330(didnt wanna double post)
I dont really have any icons on my homescreen except the dock(attachment1) but I just hate the space between the dock and the icons(attachment2).
I use GO Launcher EX myself, and I actually prefer the smaller icons. I'm able to see more of my background, and it seems sleeker and less intrusive than stock. Whenever I see my husband's phone (who is running 2.2.1 with Sense UI, no launcher) I'm always amazed at how huge the icons are. It almost seems cartoony and comically large.

Zeam Launcher 4 sure...
Light, fast and everything i need...
ADW Launcher EX (completely diff. from Adw launcher)
The fastest launchers are among launcherpro, go launcher ex and the xperia active. Launcherpro is neglected by the developer though, that's why go launcher is speeding ahead.
But I love the active launcher
zeam launcher.
simple, fast.
Wow , so many people are towards so many different launchers

Topic from apps and accessories thread.
I use stock launcher with quick desk launcher on top. Great multitasking option with access to most used apps and Widgets.
I used to love LauncherPro, but all of a sudden it kept force closing on me.
I use Zeam now, and it works great for me.
Pure breeze tops all. Though it does not do restores, has to be setup each time. I've tried leaving it. Nothing compares

was on LauncherPro Plus from my Captivate days but couldn't get the icon themes to work on my GS2. Now over to GoLauncher. working good for now.
I use adw ex. I have tried them all and to me none have as smooth transitions as adw. LP and go launcher always seemed not as fluid, more jerky animations(not including the stock launcher which is pretty snappy but too plain for me). I have tried them all and I always come back to adw.

I'm sticking with nemus launcher for now.

My favorite launcher to date is Go Launcher but I'm using ADW EX because Go Launcher doesn't support hiding the Dock and the setup I'm using is not meant to have a dock.
ADW is not bad at all but I like to easily hide and uninstall apps in the app drawer which is harder to do in ADW and the latter is impossible.

I'm using 360 launcher, which I think you can only get with criskelo's rom
Pics of the home screen and app drawer.
I use Launcher Pro +, its the fast launcher I have used on the galaxy s II when configured properly, I also like the included widgets for facebook and twitter and the ability to use different docks, wish the developer would update with newer features, but I am content to leave of the way it is.
Used most and almost always revert hack to go launcher. Fastest /smoothest IMO.

I have used all of those launchers, and I keep coming back to ADW. I think it runs the smoothest, has great theme options, and more customization options (IMHO).
I would definitely suggest try it out. The great thing is that you can download Homesmack, which is an app designed to help you toggle between launchers easily. That way, if you don't like ADW, you can easily switch back to another launcher.
EDIT: Also, this thread has A LOT of great info on launchers for you... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1428022
I have used a bunch of other launchers and I use both Launcher Pro Plus and ADW EX. LPP is my main launcher and ADW is used as my car dock in landscape mode. No other launchers really suit me. Even though LPP hasn't seen an update for a long time it's still the fastest and smoothest launcher to me.
Regina Launcher is not and got some nice options
Hi Launcher is amazing and is completely different from other launchers, instead of changing the homescreen, you can change part of it while keeping the other part as it is.
ICS Launcher by Team Syndicate is very good
I dig ADW Ex. I've been using it way before I even thought about rooting my phone, lol. It has vast customization options to tweak your phone how you want it. I can't go without it

I used launcher pro for quite a while, but after going without an update for months and months, I switched to go launcher. I liked go launcher, but there was a small delay whenever I clicked on the app drawer. Eventually I purchased and switched to ADW launcher. In my opinion, it is the best of the 3 I tried. So many themes available, and so much you can customize. Also runs the smoothest with a live wallpaper running.

I think launchers like launcher pro, ADW, Go Launcher, etc. are pretty much all the same. You get the multiple screens with widgets and an app drawer. I get bored with that stuff sometimes. I've enjoyed Go Launcher. But when I get bored with that, I switch to Launcher 7. Its really nice if you theme it right.
GO Launcher is kinda nice. I used it for awhile and really enjoyed all of the GO branded apps it allowed you to use. Im currently using ADW EX and I like it quite a bit. GO felt a little too gimmicky and unrefined in comparison to ADW EX. It wasnt as smooth. There would also be random times when GO somehow wouldnt work and I would be reverted to my old launcher.
If I were you I'd try the free version of ADW and GO then you could make a better pick.

Quick question. What kind of launcher or 'ui' (if it's called that) does AOKP and CM9 have?
I know there are other roms that are TouchWiz based (thats the launcher name?), but AOKP and CM9 do not appear to be that.
I want to google image the difference between TouchQiz and CM9/AOKP launchers to see what the visual difference is.
Thanks a bunch
No! Touchwiz is not the launcher!
Touchwiz "features" and Touchwiz Launcher are two different things.
AOKP/CM9 usually use Trebuchet, or a few others like Nova/Apex.
Why ask the question just Google the difference between cm9/aokp and touchwiz

I've tried painting over touchwiz, yet it managed to somehow bleed through three layers of primer. Had to rip it out entirely!

Yes. I think Nova and Apex are definitely better launchers than whatever the Touchwiz launcher is called. I've been enjoying AOKP while waiting for the ICS MIUI to catch up just a little more.
Yeah, Apex has worked very well for me. Very clean ICS launcher. It seems to run much lighter than TW. Gotta love the app/widget division too!

Yeah I like it it too.... But then again I like any launcher you can customize icons easily.
And IMO TW launcher and the AOSP look..... Both look like ass equally. Those are some real slick icons AOSP went with
killing is my business, and business is good.
I use AOKP with Go Launcher Ex and an ICS theme. Looks and feels great. I prefer GO Launcher to the ICS launchers i've tried. Some very nice widgets, and I love how easy it is to uninstall an app.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1669190
I was asked about this on the general forum CM10 thread, not my work at all but just want to share the original 200+ page thread for those of you not aware. There are many derivatives of this add-on, but out of 10+ similar add-on's I have tried this one works most flawlessly. Launcher is 4x4 but as a result it works perfectly with accuweather widget. Even our own Note 2 is ditching the extra column and I like the bigger icons showing more icon detail on this over having more icons on the same screen.
Unlike any other package I have tried, this add-on when flashed with CWM morphs the actual system UI and core apps like dialer/MMS into S3 touchwiz look. It is also based on the new Jelly Bean leak so has speed and fluidity advantages. Just download 1.3.3 (last item on the download section) from mrmad.net, flash, wipe cache/dalvik and enjoy! CWM is required unfortunately to morph the system applications, without it you will just get launcher, widget and miss the dialer/UI tweaks. I tested this with quincyatt CM10 M2 and it works perfectly, and should work with all CM10 based ROMS (Paranoid, AOKP, etc). It has everything you need, just works and there is no messing with RWXX permissions!
Like many of you, I find Galaxy S3's nature UX to be a huge selling point. Note 1's gingerbread UI screamed "cheap iPhone copycat", but S3's touchwiz UX was so good that I would have stayed stock if Samsung treated their customers right and gave me the same visual treatment when they gave us the ICS upgrade. I love the new accuweather widget and I find it much better than any of the sense-inspired widgets I have tried, and I love the way they made Android feel warm, natural and inviting.

No, this is just a launcher. From what I know, those other apps require TW framework and other Libraries that arent in AOSP ROMs. It's a launcher like Nova or ADW. Only affects the homescreen and app drawer
