My usb port is broken and I need to send my touchpad back to HP for repair. How do I remove CM9 or restore the original boot loader without the USB cable?
Thanks.
[Edit] Someone at another forum said other users have had no issues when sending in TP to HP for hardware issues even without wiping it. If that is the case, I dont bother trying to remove the mods.

So my G-Tablets mini-usb drive got blown out by my desktop today when I was transferring files.. smelled like burning.. blew out my usb drive on my desktop too.. is it possible to reload stock TnT without flashing via usb? I can get the rom off of dropbox but I'm not sure if it will replace my boot screen or if it will even work when properly.
The reason I ask is I'd like to send it over to Viewsonic for repairs but I'm assuming they won't do any repairs if there's a custom rom on it.
Any help is greatly appreciated,
Thanks
I dont think you can.
Unless you can find a CWM version of TnT.
Hi guys I'm having an issue with my GS2 i9100 after installing Cyanogenmod 10.2 using the installer on their site, I thought everything was great until i realised for some reason my phone refuses to display its storage on my windows PC, I've tried changing the different modes in the storage settings on the phone, such as MTP/PTP/Mass Storage and i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the samsung usb driver via Kies but I still can't get it to work, is there an option I'm missing out here or is the rom at fault?
It charges perfectly fine but I am not getting any kind of prompt from either the phone or PC to activate the storage so I can copy files too/from it, it's getting quite annoying as their is alot of music/pictures/videos I want to put on the phone.

Would it be safe to flash the stock rom using CWM6 recovery? as any tool that relies on a USB connection to the phone won't work.
Wanam has a thread in one of the Development sections with CWM flashable stock roms. I'd also be testing it with another PC to rule in/out something PC-side (if you haven't done so already). You need to be methodical with stuff like this - try stuff that rules in/out different causes.
Edit - You could also just take the punt it is the USB board in the phone on the fritz & replace it regardless, which is very cheap & easy to do if you're somewhat handy. KeithRoss39 has a guide in General (search for 'Replacing USB charger board') which has all the info you need if you decide to do this (will cost you a tenner).
In trying the things I've mentioned so far, that's what we're trying to ascertain; whether the board is faulty or not (common S2 fault, almost always shows a few faults but works OK in other ways). Put it this way, if you try those things I've suggested and you're still seeing the same, it's almost certainly the USB board.
In the meantime, use WiFi to get stuff off/on the phone if you need to (plenty of apps on GP enable this if you've never used it).
Sorry for the incredibly late reply, I've changed phones since, but I wanted to update this thread anyway, it turns out re-flashing cyanogenmod after replacing the pcb fixed the issue completely, installing it when i had the dodgy usb pcb must have made it not properly install the USB drivers or something
hallo guys, i really need your help on this:
my sgs3 stopped working after running the official update (4.3)
its starts off well with the initial logo but doesnt start up beyond that.
Now my main problem is that the usb hub is broken so i have no other
means to connect the phone to the pc and sort it out through kies
or ordin.
im able to dismantle the phone completely so my question would be
are there places in the phone that i can connect the usb wires (naked wires) after
opening up the phone so that i can bypass the hub issue and have it connected to the pc?
im aware there are four important wires in the usb plug
another thing, i've tried installing firmwares from the sd card but they all
got rejected by the phone for signature reasons.
kindly help, thank you
Factory reset in recovery first, without a usb connection you can't do much.

Help me please, anyone can help me please? I need help seriously.
It's most likely a physical issue - a bad / dirty contact in USB connector.
Try cleaning with toothpick. Look up in Youtube, there might be a guide to how to do it without damaging anything. If cleaning doesn't help - try changing ROM, if it doesn't help - then USB connector likely needs replacement.

Thanks for reply, really sad case, i tried to clean usb and change the ROM previously, but both of this doesn't help, i think really need to replace the USB, but so weird that it can still charging.
common issue, I use linux and find I can still use ADB to push and pull files
hello there
so, i have a sony xperia z2 with a broken screen and digitizer. only the backlight is working and it seems to be a broken fuse (see this thread), so no way changing the screen could help. now i'm trying to save the data but every way seems to be an impasse eventually...
first thing i tried was to connect the phone to my screen with an otg adapter but i didn't get any visible result. i found an article saying that one needs to activate screen mirroring first but that was for the z2 tablet. does that apply for the phone, too or should it work and the adapter is just broken?
2nd thing i tried was to flash custom recovery hoping i could later pull the data with adb. i followed the instructions to unlock the bootloader here but appearently usb debugging needs to be activated for that, too? at least fastboot doesn't recognize any device so far.
i also tried mirroring the screen on my computer with seven-square but that too needs usb debugging.
is there any way to get the data off the phone? anything that could be worth trying?
i'm currently working on a linux mint pc but if anyone has suggestions that only work with windows that would be helpful, too since i also got windows 7.
thanks for all effort!
p.s: i'm new to this board but i promise i will regularly follow this thread and won't leave without letting you know if the problem got resolved...
