My x10 mini pro cannot connect to window although i had tick the usb debugging??
What should i do?
Pull down your notification bar and select USB-connected
Click Turn on USB storage (not quite sure what it will say if you're on stock firmware but the principle is the same)
Try to turn off the USB storage (click on the status bar link) then turn on again.
When this is ON you cannot access apps that are in the sd card of your phone while connected. When this is OFF, you cannot access your sd card's contents from your pc.
ADB and other Android tools should work either mode.
What are you trying to achieve?

Anyone know how android.process.media (media indexer) on ICS normally detects changes to the sdcard and reindexes media?
I know that unmounting/remounting sdcard, or rebooting, forces a rescan, but otherwise it seems that it never detects additions/deletions (I have waited hours).
For example I can delete an image from /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA, but the file remains in the gallery forever until I unmount/remount the sdcard. Same problem for adding an image to the folder...it wont show up in gallery until I remount sdcard or reboot.

when u do a change not through your device. for example, delete/push a file w/ adb or connecting to ure pc as usb mass storage... u're device wont recognize it.
that's the exact reason i put an almost transparent "reload media" switch pro widget on my home screen... so i can just hit it to reload the media real quick
This is development
Hi I dont know if I am alone with this problem but I cant acces to my internal sd card with my computer because it doesnt recognize the phone. I have to take my external sd card and put it in a micro sd reader. I have all the htc driver and when I plug the phone, I dont have the message on my status bar for choosing charge only or mount like hardrive. What can I do???
Tried a different USB cable maybe?
NO it doesnt work either, I have format my internal sd_card flash many roms and it still have this issue. Sometimes with speedroms 7.6 I can but I have to reboot many times and play with the notification who say connect with usb cable because i can use the htc stock notification for it but not the aosp when i touch the notification connect with a usb cable it doesnt launch the ''app'' and if I disconnect the usb cable and reconnect it, the aosp notification usb cable connect stay in the notification bar but i cant acces to it and the htc notification doesnt appear i have to rebbot all the time with the usb cableconnected. Sorry for my bad english. I think I am going to make a video to show you.
Is there a faster way to unmount a usb flash drive than going through Settings>Storage>Unmount? Tried to find a way to add a shortcut but doesn't seem option is available. I tried StickMount but when I unmount through that, it says the drive has been unmounted but it has not. It still shows up in the file explorer. And going to Settings>Storage shows it's still mounted. I would prefer if there was something in the notification panel (like what StickMount adds) or a Quick Settings tile I could just tap to unmount completely. Anyone know of an Xposed mod or something that can add this? Or a custom ROM that has this built in?

Uhm just unplug it. If the app that was using it has been terminated then the drive is not being read or written too any longer and data would not be corrupted. Android is not like a PC in the fact it constantly monitors a USB drive changes. So just unplug it. I do it all the time and have never had an issue.
Hi there.
I am running Ice Cream Sandwich on a Huawei G600 Ascend.
I have noticed that whenever I mount my phone as a mass storage device and then unmount it, the apps that point to sound files on my device become "Unknown Ringtone" and do not fire. I am pretty sure this is independent of app but here are some examples:
* Clockwork Tomato - end of Pomodoro timers and pre-end timers switch to "Unknown Ringtone" after unmounting usb mass storage. I am not using custom files here. I am using the default notification timer alarms that come with the app. In this case, the sound files are stored on the same SD card as the app.
* Sleepbot - music files that are stored on the SD card used for alarms get unlinked and the default "Ringing" alarm is used after unmounting.
I have seen this happen on Windows 8.1 as well as the Mageia distribution of Linux.
In the Windows 8.1 case, I use the Windows "unmount USB Mass Storage" before hitting "Turn Off USB Mass Storage" on my Huawei.
As you can tell by my description, I am a bit of a n00b. I am not being intentionally vague so if you can give me a gentle, or even firm push in the right direction I would be most appreciative.
