Not sure if you are aware but there is a version of Splashtop already pre installed on your Prime.I think it is the HD version.
It is contained in the My Cloud app, click middle option My Desktop that opens it. If you do a search on the forum for slashtop there is a thread comparing the THD v pre installed a few weeks ago .
Hope this helps

Thanks for the info but the search finds no results.

Splashtop is more for games and media. The version that is already installed with prime works good for normal tasks. Try that first and then buy THD if you want better performance.
Suggest that you practice your search skills.
I did just type "Splashtop" in the search field and look what i got.

Both HD and THD work with Tegra 3. HD if you're using it for desktop productivity and THD if you're using it for games. That's what the developer told me.
Does anyone else have the annoying issue with Google licensing?

I'm using splashtop daily to log in from my university to my home pc. I have the my cloud app the hd version and the thd version. I'm using the app for normal desktop use, not for gaming, but in contrary to what splashtop support is saying the thd version is by for the most usefull. It is significantly more smooth, full mouse support (rmb) and more smaller features. It only lacks support for resolutions other than 720 and 800, but you probably wouldn't use them anyway..
The my cloud app (which no longer has the disconnect issue since fw .21) is te hd version, but it has zoom and orientation support (neither the hd or thd have that). So I would recommend against buying the hd version.
So be sure to try the my cloud version first.
If you want to be productive with it I recommend the thd version + if you are rooted I suggest you to change the keyboard layout so you have Esc F1/F12 Win-key etc button on your keyboard (replacing the back, wifi, bluetoot etc buttons) There is a thread about it on xda, but if you need help or have questions you can contact me here or by pm.

I just uninstalled the application and re-installed it and haven't had any issues since. Really only happened just once.

here you can see how splashtop THD runs WOW, its totally playable and its kinda fun to do quets on it

I wonder does the THD also have the funtion of the HD version, and just added the gaming feature on it. If so then why don't just go ahead to get the THD one.

The THD one is a tad different.. it offers much higher performance for streaming. Nearly real time while barely every hiccuping. But it limits you to two resolutions to help make that possible. 1280x720 and 1280x800. No higher. If I remember correctly, the standard HD one allows for native resolution as well.

Yes the THD version is significantly smoother than the bundled version. Splashtop 2 is due out shortly (already available on the iPad) so hoping this will be smoother still.

It does support the other resolution settings if you hack them in manually with a sqlite editor.
Also, I've discovered if you go into the android settings>ASUS customized, and set right button behavior to context menu, The right click will work properly.
All in all, it's definately worth the $10 for the better performance.

Has this limit changed software wise? I've noticed that Splashtop themselves say 720p 800p is the limit on their site as well, but running THD on my Transformer Infinity, I've been able to run my desktop and games at 1080p resolution and not counter problems.

I love Splashop 2, best one IMO. Even better if you're using it with Windows 8.

Excellent Work!
Great job! Saves a lot of time for users wanting to get this working All work perfectly for me
I'm just wondering why you would do mappings for Shadowgun, Max Payne & Grand Theft Auto III. They all support native Gamepad Support? Is it personal preference on the layout?

Not sure if it even matters, I don't have a dock and didn't know if it would work via bluetooth. And honestly I just didn't really think about it either. Just kind of went straight to mapping my own touch controls.

Is this a real question? Yes you need to buy the Sixaxis controller app to use Sixaxis controller mappings. Didn't think I needed to do this but here are the step by step instructions.
1 - BUY SIXAXIS APP
2 - Download my 2 files in original post
3 - Unzip all files from profiles.zip. You will see a bunch of .map files
4 - Put Modern Combat 3.map into /mnt/sdcard/data/com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller/profiles
5 - Open Sixaxis app, connect controller via bluetooth
6 - Choose Modern Combat 3 from Active Touch Profile pulldown menu
7 - Refer to Sixaxis Map.text for controls

Gotcha, it doesnt work! I did that all above and all I get is weapon switching and moving forward.
Second, when I first read your post, I assumed there wasnt an app needed because the TF201 has built in support for ps3 controller.
If I can get this to work it will be worth the 2 bucks I just spent

Do you have your control scheme set to Classic in the MC3 settings?
I figured it out. See I thought I could just use this with it being just USB but I guess u have to use it as Bluetooth. Still tweaking it though. Wish they would just support game pad control anyways. It would be easier since the prime already supports ps3 with USB and Bluetooth

Thanks! I'll try this out tonight. I have MC3 and Sixaxis, and a controller is really the only way to play that game with a 10" screen.
I am pretty happy with my MC3 map on Sixaxis, but it's definitely not perfect, so I'm always tweaking things around. Can't wait to see your approach, and try your profile.
Question, which controller setup should we use for your MC3 map? The in-game controller settings offer three different setups: virtual joystick, something else, and something else. Which should we use with your controller map?
Thanks again!

I haven't tried it yet, but try contacting the emulator authors about it. Several of the apps I have installed have had recent updates that fix speed issues with the SGS3.
I've used N64oid, snesoid, FPSE, and haven't had any issues at all one my S III, sprint.
i changed the gfx plug-in to the gles2n64 and it seems to play smoother.
with that being said. ocarina of time still plays great, but other games dont work as well as they did on the s2.
remember, the s3 is pushing almost double the pixels. the s4 is more powerful than exynos, but i dont think powerful enough to compensate though. just my opinion. games to not play as well on this phone as they did on the s2.
Id be curious to see how the quad core exynos version of the s3 handles gaming

The qualcomm plugin.
i really haven't messed with any settings other than setting the aspect ratio to 4:3 or whatever and all the emus ive ran run MUCH better then they did on my Xperia play. N64oid and FPse were basically unplayable for the most part. most roms were stupid slow.
this CPU and RAM seem to have no performance related issues running any emus as far as i can tell.

Yes, that's the one.
I've had a bunch of hassle with RetroArch. I can't seem to play any SNES game or PSX game for more than 15 seconds before I get kicked back to the emu select screen. I tried reinstalling and the problem is still there.

You can see retroarch playing ps1 games on a note 2 flawlessly. So obviously the issue is on your end.
I find that retroarch lacks in configuration where a normal standalone emulator exceeds, they make for better compatibility with games and performance tweaks. The downside is that standalones are about $4 each.

Can you elaborate on this? Retroarch is getting in game menus, built in wii remote support, and more cores. What do the paid emus who run worse and have frameskip on do better?
The wii remote is garbage for any system post Genesis. You need more buttons. I'm using sixaxis and dualshock3 controller. Like said before though, the configuration in retro is a little weak compared to all the oids with button mapping at least

You can plug in a plethora of different controllers into the wii remote, giving you a ton of options. You can see here with the official Neo Geo arcade stick plugged into the wii remote.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=pdsFgv3EGLk
Retroarch has native Sixaxis controls. Configure the pad with the sixaxis app and set it to gamepad mode, and retroarch fully maps it out for you by default.
The configuration for the button mapping is identical to the oids and other emus, you can manually go in and set each button on the controller with whatever you are using. Can you again tell me what else you think the paid emus do better so i can tell the devs directly? Feedback is important, so i'd like to know what else to suggest. So far you've just mentioned stuff retroarch already does out of the box.

Ya, the menu ***ks big time... it's just too slow to navigate - but that's true for all devices I suppose.
Graphics wise the game looks good.. It's worth a buy if you like racing games.
Just one gripe though, I use an XBox controller and there's no default mapping for brakes!
And the game doesn't let us customize the controls.. Would also like to mention that the keyboard dock can't be used for gaming.
i also played gta vice city and gta 3 vice city ran better then gta3 and also supported the keyboard but the mapping is a bit weird: arrow keys for driving/walking number 4 forl entering/exiting a vehicle and numer 2 to puch/kick i didn't find all of them do like running (can't seem to find a damned key that activates it)

Actually, yea, it can. Last time I've played this I used my dock keyboard without setting anything. Only for the nitro I've had to press it on tablet itself, but everything else worked on keyboard (acceleration, brakes, etc.).
The game runs fine. The menus and tracks load slow on the TF300, whereas on my Galaxy S2 they load quickly.
You can use your keyboard dock as well.

Real Racing 3 - Is it only my Note? - graphics are bad

RealRacing 3 looks like crap on Note3 Note 10.1 /LTE 2014 ... android in general compared to iPhone iPad
In an other thread someone stated this game looks better on his Note...
Is it maybe my version? dont have any graphics options available
Textures on trucks and even trucks themselves in the back are very detailed on the iPad unlike the Note
According to 3DMark i ran on both the Note is up to 2x times faster... cant even imagine how RealRacing3 and other games will look like, optimized for the iPad Air
Screenshots iPad4 and Note LTE 10.1 2014
BTW Ipad screenshot was only a 400KB JPEG compared to 2,5MB PNG Note

Here are my settings (set on medium on rr3 gfx app) also my device is Asus Memo Pad HD 7 which has 1gb ram and quad core 1.2ghz cpu, these settings look great (my opinion, atleast for me) and the game runs smooth as butter...

Click to collapse
Glad that it runs smooth for you.
For me the app does nothing anymore
Could you take a screen shot from the car selection menu for direct comparison please?
To me it looks like you have the same bad graphics on your device...
Because of the Android fragmentation we will never get even close to Apple. Too much hassle for not enough profit.
Except Nvidia chipsets but they are paying for that and still don't even come close to Apple graphics

Here are 2 pictures I changed graphics to "extra high" but i didnt notice much difference, gameplay was acctualy really smooth, here are the pics...
Here you see that you acctualy see the mirror picture ( extra high ) and the blury one is medium settings
2 pic where the tire touches the grass its extra high and other one is medium i acctualy noticed how extra high is better and its pretty smooth on your device you wont even see the lag...
