[Q] 7510, locking up during boot. - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i think what i need is a complete odin install... back to stock for wifi
Been running ICS M4 just fine for a while, I did an app update in market and it crashed. rebooted and it freezes on Kang logo. I have done every wipe I can in CWM and I get no where.
Doing 'fix permissions' or factory wipe, neither one will finish, factory will not finish ad just reboot on its own.
i tired installing a diff ROM or two that i have on it already, same thing, freezes on boot animations.
I cant find a COMPLETE odin install.... open to any help and thanks for your time.

they have all the stock odin flashable firmwares available for download there.
oh and if you get stuck at a boot logo loop after stock rom flash, do a factory restore and clear cache using the stock recovery (it happened to me). you can then start over with the root/cwm/custom rom process if you want.

did that, thanks... after odin finished it reboots. says:
# maunal mode #
---Updating Aplications ---
copying ' XAB ' apk
copying common Apks.
holds there for 10 seconds and reboots right back to that as i typed.
If i boot into recovery, as soon as i click the icon to actually goto recovery it reboots to what I typed above.
I have also reflashed cwm recovery and can get to recovery then flash a rom, but it still freezes during boot animations.... ugh.

I fixed it! I used the overcome guide here...
the prob with samobile file was there was no PIT. once I got that out of the overcome DL It was ok and booted just like the guide said... from there i reflashed CWM recovery.tar. since I could boot in to HC I could transfer a new aokp ICS rom and all is good

[Q] Stuck in constant reboot to recovery

I tried to install Cognition 1.5.1 zip which CWM4 showed as successful, but am running into a problem of constant reboots to recovery. I wiped data and cache before installing the zip too. If i try to select power off it just reboots back into recovery. pulled battery turned phone on still goes recovery. any suggestions?
Edit: ended up going download mode and flashing base KH3, still could use suggestions on what to do to avoid it happening again.

its nothing major mate once u restored/reflashed to make it work again. it could be corrupted flash that coudlnt let u boot. thanks god u are back on track..
Try reading the sticky.
Ya i figured out how to get it to boot properly, so is the problem with the download of the rom? Cuz it did the boot loop both times i flashed the rom. Would redownloading the file work?

[Q] Please help newbie with semi-bricked phone

Hi guys, I got a SGS2 just over a week ago, on Bell/Virgin network in Canada. Suffered from the battery drain issue due to being stuck with crappy UGKG2 firmware which my provider still hasn't updated.
I decided to update it myself, and did a ton of research. I successfully got Root tonight by flashing CF-Root-SGS2_ZS-OZS_KG2-v4.1-CWM4 kernel with Odin. In case it matters, I did NOT flash back my stock Kernel, so I still had the insecure kernel installed. From there, I backed up my apps with Titanium.
Went into CWM and selected boot into CWM Recovery. I followed the steps on the wiki, including creating a backup file. My only hint of what I might have done wrong was I originally selected to flash update.zip, and that process failed. I then went to the directory in which cyanogenmod is stored on my SD card, and selected that, then it installed ok. I had downloaded update-cm-7.10-GalaxyS2-signed and that's what I put on the phone. I then also installed the Google Apps.
I then hit reboot, and it only goes to the Samsung screen with the yellow triangle and just hangs there for a few minutes. Not knowing what else to do, I popped the battery out. I have since learned that I can turn it on and off, but it never goes past that screen. Wouldn't go into the recovery or download modes, always that screen. Luckily, I saw somewhere to do the 3 button thing WHILE in that screen, and that works. So I can get to recover, and download modes. So, I think I'm ok. I checked, and it does connect to Odin still.
I just want to know EXACTLY what I should do at this point. I don't want to fully brick it. There are actually two recovery files on the phone... not sure why... Or which one to pick. Should I just flash stock firmware back with Odin? One of my main goals is to get off 2.3.3 so I can have more than 8 hours of battery...
Thanks,
Rob
Boot into tecovery, do a full wipe again. (Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, advanced>wipe dalvik cache).
Now install CM7 zip twice in a row without reboot. It may take a few minutes for reboot since system is rebuilding dalvik cache. Be patient. After you see the home screen, reboot again.
Sometimes, CM won't install properly with CF root recovery. In that case reboot into download mode, flash codeworkx cwm kernel via ODIN.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118693
Now reboot into recovery and do full wipe and twice-install !
Ok, working now with the flash twice thing. Well that's weird, would be great if it was in the wiki page...
Thanks!
Rob

[Q] Can't flash any new ROM/zips through CWM

Apologies this is my first post and am asking for help but this is driving me crazy now!
I don't seem to be able to flash ANY ROM zip files through CWM. When I try to install a Rom it loads for about 20seconds, says "finding update zip" "installing update zip" then "zip installed " then when it reboots it is stuck in a loop on the Samsung logo start up screen (one with the yellow triangle to say it is rooted).
Only thing I can do to get it working is to flash a ROM (new stock ICS one) through Odin, then root and restore from my backup - the only backup that will work is my backup of the ICS ROM none of my other backups work CM7 / CM9 if I try and restore them I just get in to the same loop.
I have tried this loads of times now - factory reset, wipe cache, wipe Dalvik cache, format system partition. I have tried installing ROM zip files twice etc etc.
This went wrong when I flashed the new stock ICS ROM in odin then tried to do a restore to CM7 not sure what I have managed to do to get it like this.
Anyone any ideas of what I can do to get it so I can install ROM's via CWM again so I can get back to CM7 or CM9?
Any help much appreciated - thanks.
Flash a new CWM and root kernel.
Root + CWM .

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have tried flashing a new kernel a few times now but still get the same thing when I try and flash a new ROM in CWM, the install takes about 20 seconds then the phone is stuck in a loop at the first boot screen.
Any more ideas on what I can do?
:edit:
aha fixed this now, I followed this excellent guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457458 on Fix an unflashable or soft bricked GSII had to do the bootloader to get it to work.

Please help with this flusterc*ck of issues

Hi all,
New to this whole rooting and flashing thing. I'm not as good with computers that one can hold in their hand.
Anyways, I'll try to explain this stew of issues that I have
I'm running CW Recovery (6.0.2.3) in conjunction with SlimBean (dtt 4.2.2). One day, in a far away land, my phone prompted me to update Slim. That was all and dandy because I've flashed roms from zip files before. When I tried to do that, the process was aborted and I was given a slew of error numbers that made my brain hurt.
So, I tried to start fresh and clean, like the cilantro that chipotle puts in our burrito bowls. I tried a factory reset using the CW Recovery mode so I can re-root now that jellybean is 4.3. After I wiped the cache and data/factory reset, I rebooted the phone. My phone still boots into Slim and uses clockwork for recovery mode.
Essentially, how do I de-root my phone or factory reset it to the settings that I had from day 1?
UPDATE: I just tried flashing CW Recovery from 6.0.2.3 --> 6.0.4.7. After flashing it, I rebooted my phone into recovery. Now I'm getting a never-ending boot cycle. The samsung logo pops up along with the little blue text "recovery" at the top, then shuts off and repeats that every 3 seconds or so. Methinks I broke it
Thanks

Flashing Problems

Hi I have a SM-N910F model which is proving extremely difficult to flash. I firstly flashed the latest Marshmallow UK BTU firmware on it which resulted in a boot loop. I cleared cache partition and wiped data/factory reset in the stock recovery (and TWRM recovery) but this did not fix the problem. So I flashed the phone again and this time it was stuck in a boot loop with the text "recovering booting..." at the top left. Tried the same as before and still didnt fix it.
So I then tried a different stock rom - Lollipop UK BTU firmware. This gave me the exact same problems as before. However on a few occasions, I also got an error on the recovery screen saying cache could not be mounted. I cleared the cache partition, tried reformatting cache using TWRM but none of this worked. Eventually I reflashed and it went away but the boot loop doesnt go.
Lastly I tried an even older firmware - Kitkat UK BTU firmware. This again gave me a boot loop problem. It also kept displaying the cannot mount cache error as well. I tried using PIT file to repartition the device and eventually the error went but the device would still be on boot loop. However on two occasions the phone did go past the Samsung logo and show the first setup screen (where you select initial settings like Wifi etc). After like 10-15 seconds it would just switch off and then go back into boot loop. I havent managed to get to the first setup screen again.
I have tried flashing with various different Odin versions but still no luck.
I feel like I have exhausted my options and not sure what to do. Do you think I should try a custom rom? If so, for the sake of getting it to start, which is a good lightweight rom?
Does anyone know what I can do to make these infinite boot loops and/or "cannot mount cache" error go away?
Anyone? I could really do with some help..
I think you have problem with motherboard, try to find original stock frimeware, by country. If not help try custom rom. I suggest any AOSP rom such as Lineage OS or CM.
Tried 3 different stock roms. Like I said it will either be in a boot loop, recovery loop, or give an cache mounting error. Im hoping that the motherboard is not faulty because it is not always the same problem
Hi , I think is because You have FRP (Factory Reset Protection) On which means you can't flash property your phone .
What U can try is to extract recovery.img from latest stock firmware for your Region .
Now use this script to transform recovery.img to recovery.tar.md5
here is how to do :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446269
Put your phone in download mode click on AP: and choose recovery.tar.md5
After that click on Start .
If the flashing was OK , put again your phone in Download mode and flash completely the same firmware with original recovery.img inside it.
Good Luck
One guy from forums.androidcentral.com posted it work on sm-n910t, Android 6.0.1 .
