Thanks to braway and Blue1k,
braway gave most of the instructions, and Blue1k provided the system.img file.
All I did was testing and uploading.
I'm not responsible for anything that will happen to your device;
I tried it and it worked without ANY problem:
My flash counter is still at 0, I have TELUS Stock system/kernel etc. and I have ROOT.

Test the archive file before you flash, make sure it's not corrupted!
Instructions (copied from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1518962 , Thanks to roloracer)
1. Turn off your phone and uplug it. Take the battery out of your phone, put it back in, and hold the volume down button and power button at the same time. Keep them held down until the phone starts buzzing and you see the Samsung name.
2. At this point you are either in download mode or the phone will tell you to hit volume up, at which point you'll be ready.
3. Run Odin on your PC -- right click and choose "Run as Administrator" just to be safe.
4. Plug your phone into your PC.
5. In the Odin screen, wait until one of the top boxes turns yellow and displays some numbers.
6. UNCHECK all the boxes except for Auto Reboot.
7. Unzip the file that you downloaded.
8. Hit the PDA button and navigate to telus-rooted-system.tar.
9. Hit start
10. wait until your phone reboots.
11. If it didn't work, try rebooting and starting from scratch.
12. Install Superuser app from Play Store: Superuser

As far as I know Boot animation is in kernel image, not system:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506330
II believe the first boot image that pops up is kernel. Next the boot animation loads. Anyways it seems i should have checked that thread first as i got a reply. op got my thanks either way

No, only system.
You can get stock TELUS recovery image from here:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/50890302/recovery.img
Not ready to flash with ODIN, you'll need to search to do that If you don't know.
thanks, the 3 individual files, how do you make them into one tar file ? Do you extract them to all one file or is it automatic when you extract each of the 3 files ?
---------- Post added at 07:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:25 PM ----------
i believe, i should be able to use adb if there is not a odin file for stock recovery yet.
misunderstanding.

This is a Telus Stock Recovery zip, just flash through CWM. I got the recovery image from Jckpsa and Braway made the stock recovery file zip file.http://thinkleet.de/cwm/stock_telus_recovery.zip I can conform it does work. You now have a stock recovery again

ok before i start yes i looked at the forums and tried but for some reason its not working. i have already gotten it to work once and then went back to another rom. but now i wanna go back lol. im a rom jumper. but im thinking im trying to use the wrong rom download. not really sure. somebody help. thanks
What is happening? What steps have you taken? Any errors that you noticed..??
If you're coming from an ICS ROM, you might need to flash the Old Firmware patch as well, AFTER you flash whichever GB ROM you want.
Old Firmware Patch Here
then flash the kernel provided with the ROM
is this what you did?
if there's a file on your SD card called Clean ROM it should have the patch in it. Flash from recovery.
thanks guys, i finally got it done i just forgot i posted on this a couple days ago, heres what i did that finally worked, because before when i tried to flash the boot.img zip it would say mainver error.
1. REFLASHED THE LEAK ICS RUU COMPLETELY.
2. UNLOCKED HTCDEV.
3.DOWNLOADED STOCK ROOTED ROM LATEST ONE FROM SCOTT. WITH THE RIGHT BOOT.IMG.
4. PUT ROM AND BOOT.IMG ON MY SD CARD
5. FLASHED CUSTOM RECOVERY ARMON RA OR WHATEVER ITS CALLED.
6. WIPED ALL DATA/ FACTORY RESET.
7.FLASHED THE STOCK ROOTED ROM.
8. WENT TO DEVELOPMENT ON THE RECOVERY, SELECTED REBOOT TO BOOTLOADER.
9. THEN WHILE IN FASTBOOT USB MODE, I INSTEAD OF OPENING THE ZIP PM86IMG, I OPENED SCOTTS TOOL CLEANFLASH AND FLASHED THE BOOT.IMG THAT WAY, AND IT DIDNT GIVE ME NO MAINVER ERROR AT ALL. REBOOTED. PROFIT
There was no need to re-flash the ICS RUU and the boot.img needs to be flashed from the PC you're using, no need to copy it to the SD card. Looks good otherwise.

Isn't that for running ICS on the old firmware and not the other way around?

I am not sure about that patch, but there is a patch you need to run if your on the new firmware trying going back to GB. Otherwise, your SD card is messed up .

FYI - That's the patch for installing ICS on the old firmware, not installing GB on new firmware....

Edit: pda-odin-rogers-stock-system-boot.img now contains a new boot.img file that hopefully will include the Rogers boot animation. Try it out and let me know how it goes.
These are Odin-flashable .tars of the stock Rogers system, boot/kernel, and radios and can be used to revert to stock.
Files Available
NB: All files are zipped to save space. Please extract the .tar before flashing via Odin.
pda-odin-rogers-stock-system-boot.zip - This .tar contains the stock system.img.ext4 and stock boot.img and can be used to assist in resetting your flash counter using braway's method. Flash it via Odin's pda option. The recovery.img has been removed to preserve CWM if you've already flashed it to your phone. Once your flash counter has been reset, you can then return recovery to stock via this method using just the recovery.img file in the archive here.
phone-odin-rogers-stock-radio.zip - This .tar contains the stock Bell modem/radio and is flashed via Odin's phone option. Not working properly. Apparently I don't know how to make Odin flashable modem .tars, lol
Rogers-Modem-CWM.zip - This is a CWM-flashable .zip of the modem files. Should work perfectly. Let me know if you run into any problems.
SkyDrive Folder of all Rogers Files I've added all the files to my SkyDrive since my public DropBox links keep being suspended due to excessive traffic. Hopefully this solves all future problems.
Disclaimer
I am in no way responsible for any damages caused to your Note by anything you flashed. These files are provided as is to help Rogers Note owners return to stock after whatever they've done to their phones.

Well crap. I thought I fixed that. I might just package them in a CWM zip instead. Also, you can push them manually using ADB if you feel confident enough. If you extract the two files from the .tar, the code necessary is below.
Code:
adb push amss.bin /tmp/amss.bin
adb push mdm.bin /tmp/mdm.bin
adb shell dd if=/tmp/amss.bin of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p13
adb shell dd if=/tmp/mdm.bin of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p17
Be very careful with this and check for typos as an error here can brick your phone as I understand it. This is provided as is and I am in no way responsible for anything you do to your phone.
Thanks to Da_G for this from this post.

I guess I should also ask where the files you provided came from then, lol

Hello everyone,
I got some troubles with my VZW Note 2 and really need help. I rooted my phone but didn't unlock the bootloader. Since then, I used the stock ROM only without any modification.
Today, I tried to make a backup of the current ROM. The phone suddenly bricked with a message "System Software not authorized by Verizon Wireless".
I tried to follow the instruction to restore stock ROM on the sticky note, but Odin failed to process right after 5-10 seconds. It stopped right at CACHE step. I have tried to use different USB port but no luck.
Does anyone know how to fix this? It would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
make sure you use the "alternate restore" file that I have linked in section 1b of the guide. I bet your failing at sboot, not cache.

Hey all i accidentally hit the OTA update "OK" button when it popped up on my screen. I've been deferring it for the past few months but my finger slipped and hit the "OK" instead of the "defer" and choosing a date to ask again.
I have a looping "Teamwin" logo and it keeps looping.. Cant seem to do anything. I've taken out the battery and then start it up but it still does the same thing.
Any advice, step by step to get out of this loop?
Thanks!

yep click the link in my sig...refer to section 1b. you can probably get away with using root66 so you do not have to reroot and unlock BL.
Also when you get back up and running I would recommend freezing SDM1.0 apk with a App such as Titanium back up pro and you will no longer get prompted for OTA updates.

root66 works on all devices with the current firmware since it does not contain a bootloader, recovery, or wipe data. Sometimes it will cause a bootloop which all that is needed is to wipe data in recovery.

[RECOVERY] CWM S5 Sport SM-G860P
Instructions to Install Tar Files with Odin
• The full tar does not wipe Data or internal SD.
You may want to do a full wipe in custom recovery before flashing full tar if you have issues with data apps.
• Extract (unzip) the firmware file
• Extract Odin -- Odin v3.09 Download Link
• Power down the phone (or pull the battery, it is important to flash the OTA from a powered off state)
• Open Odin v3.09
• Boot the phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
• Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
• Add the firmware/recovery file to AP / PDA (depending on version of Odin)
• For modems, add the file to CP / PHONE (depending on version of Odin)
• Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
• Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minutes
I think its possible to flash a Sprint SM-G900P 4.4.2 rom on this phone if you follow the following steps:
1. Have custom recovery already installed and a backup in place in case you need to flash back.
2. Place the rom and stock kernel on phone SD
3. Boot into custom recovery, do a full wipe
4. Install the SM-G900P touchwiz based rom, do not reboot yet
5. Flash the stock SM-G860P _NG3_Stock_Kernel.zip provided in Post #1.
6. Restart the phone
@SeanRinVA and @wolfleatherworks :
You guys have showed interest in getting MOAR on your SM-G860P phones, so I thought I'd mention you here to help you find this thread. Make sure to have a nanoid backup beforehand and let everyone know how it went.
I'd watched the MOAR thread for a while, but it wasn't compatible with the SM-G860P (hung boot).

@tdunham just posted this yesterday and the second post this morning, but yes, he's looking for someone to test it (neither of us have the G860). If you have the time, could you give this a try and post back success or failure? Especially if you can get MOAR installed.

I can test it tonight. I've downloaded the Kernel...now to download the latest MOAR.
I've got an S5 Sport, just picked up today. Will be testing the kernel with MOAR.

Well it doesn't seem to be boot looping, I'll let it sit and cook for a bit longer. Currently it's just flashing the android white text and disappearing, not sure how long it should normally be on 1st boot.

Doesn't seem to have worked, I waited a good while but it didn't go any further. Attempted downloading your Rooted Deodexed test but it downloads as a 0kb file.
EDIT: Tried another mirror, seems to be downloading properly now.

Got it downloaded, copied over via adb -- attempted install, getting (bad) - installation aborted.

Confirmed MD5 match. Ideas?

I'm not sure what adb was for. You don't have drivers installed with a running rom so you can copy everything over to the phone?
Did you download the stock rom last night because the stock rom last night had a problem and has since been replaced. The one you should have the same name as the link in the OP. I even flashed it to make sure it would at least run.

I was using ADB since I didn't want to restore from backup until I was done testing. I'll try re-downloading and doing it over again to see if I can get it working, I'm off work today so now is the perfect time to try it further.
So this has me stumped -- For some unknown reason, I seem to be unable to copy over SM-G860P_NG3_ROOTED_DEODEXED.TEST.zip using MTP. I fiddled with drivers for the last hour and i'm at a loss -- it doesn't seem to be a driver problem, I can copy over MOAR and other files, but it won't let me copy over your test at all.

I accidentally added a space in the filename. I did flash it to test but now I think I removed the space in the name before doing so. If possible, try downloading to pc first and let me know how it goes in case I need to reupload it to the hosting site with a corrected filename.

So, I'm not attempting to be dumb here, but it might be inevitable.
G900 stock roms boot with G860 kernel?
I use MOAR ROM(havent tried any other roms yet) for 900P and the the kernel zip in post #1 and using steps in post #2 I am running on it now
Great. Being a stock-based ROM, I would imagine that all stock Roms work with G860 kernel. Consequently, all AOSP ROMs should work with a kernel compiled for G860. There are 2 new G860s in the house and my intent was to compile CM11/12 for the Sport; however, if all that is necessary is the kernel&modules I won't bother pulling blobs.
Thanks. The phones aren't entirely at my disposal or I would do more testing.

Redownloaded still a no go it just go to opening update and then fails sorry for bad news thanks for trying
It works!
I used the instructions here to install the rom for the G900P as linked to below. I've messed with it only for about 20 minutes but it worked perfectly fine! So much bloatware though, and I'm coming from the S3 scene and am not too familiar with what the G900P had to offer in terms of custom ROMs. If anyone knows a good lightweight one with powerful customization options please let me know so I can try it. I am doing my first backup of this ROM as I type this and will also be doing a restore of my previous ROM (stock with the bloatware removed manually) for now and will probably tweak the MOAR ROM more later this week. Just want to say thank you to everyone in this thread, you guys are amazing!

Well, at least you guys can run a custom rom now.
I wish I could be more help but I have the SM-G900P but thought I'd take a shot at getting the Sport a little help.

I saw a couple of links in the recovery thread for the sport full resotore.. One link the files are over a gig, the other one is for about 848mb.. I wounder which is the real deal... The first link I could not download crap, but the second one I did. BTW is the modem included in your file for your rom?I was woundering because if I flash MOAR were can I find the modem or does it matter
