I believe if you go into "/system/app" in "Root Explorer", you should find an "APK" called "htcFacebookChatWidget.apk" now i am not smart at all by no means, but i would assume that would be what you both are reffering to. theres a download link here -->http://www.mediafire.com/?1i5icb7oc9kpm59
and here -->http://www.4shared.com/zip/vnV0NVvL/fbChatWidget_Extract_this_.html for the fb chat widget

Can any one give me the htc sence clock widget.apk
Please guys

Unsync facebook contacts from dialer

Hi. Is there any way I could unsync or remove my facebook phonebook contacts from ny phone dialer. Half of them are inaccurate and the other half I don't call at all..
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
try to remove your fb account from the phone, maybe it works
go to People > Menu > View. untick facebook contacts.
Matt
Hi. Thanks for the replies but in my people app, the Facebook is already unticked. I doubt it lies in people as the unwanted phonebook does not appear in peoples.. I dont want to remove Facebook entirely as I still want it in HTC sense.

I've the same issue as well.
All i did was to uninstall Facebook for HTC Sense, remove Facebook application and walla, all my contacts went unsynced.
Since i needed Facebook,i reinstalled from Market but this time round,i ensured i did not sync both phone contacts with Facebook contacts.
Hope this works for you,cheers!

Ok.. but won't this prevent my people app to stop linking with Facebook and friend stream can't be used as well?

I think you can use Titanium Backup to back it up (I'm not sure). Or you can adb pull the HtcFacebook.apk from /system/app, push it back when you need it.

Hi there, I'm also having this Facebook problem - but where do I find the "People" function?
I'm using an Xperia X8. Cheers.

Facebook for android blows...

This isn't evo3d specific, but the facebook app really sucks. Is it just licensing that keeps someone from making a better one? I would pay for a FULLY FUNCTIONAL facebook app - something that lets me do everything I can do on the site. and I would like it to have total control over what I have to see in my newsfeed, because I don't care about farmville.
I just want push notifications on my EVO like my wife has on her epic

I use friendcaster Pro, it has push notifications or can use emails like Blackberry
Facebook for iOS is virtually identical and also has issues.
Good call on friendcaster. Way better!
idk if you remember the early facebook app that was out when the Evo first came out a year ago... It was HORRIBLE compared to what we have today, so if anything, we're doing alright compared to that. And that's saying something.
But I agree, I hate having to go to the site to reply to invites to events and whatnot, gets old real quick. I also wish that gawker sites wouldn't go to the mobile site in the stock browser, it won't let you watch any flash videos, and won't let you switch to desktop version of the site. /endrant
Yeah and I will also like to change my profile pic from the app, because even if you go to the site from your phone (in desktop version) it doesn't let you do it cause of the cropping of the pic which is impossible from the phone.

WHY DO WE LIKE IT? It's weird to think that this can be a standalone app apart from the clusterzuck that Facebook can be but, well, it really can. It's as good as GroupMe or Kik or WhatsApp in the sense that you're chatting with friends without racking up SMS charges but it's better than those services because most people have Facebook accounts and don't need to sign up for a new service. It's easy to add buddies to chat (through their Facebook account or phone number), almost scary easy to attach your location to each message and less complicated than GroupMe to start a group chat.
Even if you hate Facebook, you don't hate your friends right? The Facebook-ness of the app is invisible enough that even the most anti-Facebook guy will have to admit this is actually decent. Seriously, strip the Facebook away and what you get is a messaging app that your friends have already signed up for. Why not try?

There's built in chat in the Facebook app, been that way for a while now guys...granted their notifications aren't working right for most people but the chat works just fine.
side note: are they gonna fix multi-quote on these boards soon? some problem with ad-block?
Could one of you share the apk, it's telling me a dumb error like my phone is not compatible and does the same for the official facebook app ....
[edit]Found it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1210604
I tried this but the notifications arnt working. I've enabled all alerts, light sound vibrate but when I receive a message there's nothing. I have to go to the app to know i got one

[Q] Stock ICS Email Links?

I just spent 20 minutes searching the threads and can't find my answer, so I thought I would take a chance and make a thread about this. If there is a thread about this, I apoligize in advance and I will go and crawl under a rock and hide! I'm just curious Why are all links in our emails not clickable they are just text format, I found something about this in a different site but I think the expertise in XDA is far superior, IMO so I don't trust anybody else...Thanks in advance.

Just to elaborate on my original post, what I found on the other site was that someone said that the legal team at Apple is what caused us to lose the ability to click on links in our email, which sounds stupid....
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using Tapatalk 2
Yeah I don't use stock email app since gmail is my only email :/
That's weird... Google has been slipping lately
But to elaborate on your elaboration, if the legal issue was true, why does Gmail allow it? Is HTC in the meat grinder deeper than Google maybe?

With all the bs apple is doing to keep their competition on lockdown just so they won't get out sold, you can't really blame htc, best option would be to find an alternative email app as you previously said, though to be honest, I only use the default because I'm too lazy to configure my school account on the hotmail app.
I have the same issue.
Rooted and Flashed my Amaze 4g Telus yesterday and now on ICS.
Can't click on any links in emails and that's very anoying since i have 3 email account link to the phone and have plenty of links in them.
Anything that could help to bring back that feature ?
It's a no go, thank apple for that.
I don't think that's the case cause i had ICS on my Desire HD just before that phone and the links where still there.
I figured it out you have to go into settings, then send & receive, and change the mail size limit. The default is at 5kb, which is only text. If you change it to maximum size it will even show pictures. You have to reset app after you change the size limit so it takes effect though.

So I modded FB Home to run on all (?) devices, without touching build.prop or requiring root.
Tested on GNEX, NEXUS 7 emulators.

Installation
• Uninstall original facebook and facebook home apps. If facebook is pre-installed then you need root to remove it
• Extract .rar!
• Install both APKs.
• Enable facebook home under facebook app settings.

But I couldn't stand the retarded comments and ridiculous photos shared by my deluded friends.

p.s. If someone really wants to stick with fb home, then you better ask your dear friends to share HD pics. The low resolution ones don't look good on the device.
