Is MW600 or HBH-IS800 any good?
I want to use it for phone and music.
Have any one try then?
Yeah. The MW600 was in the box for my X10. It rocks!
I have the IS800, great headset, very small, sounds nice. HOWEVER batterylife sucks, three hours max. If I had to buy again I'd buy the MW600. I actually think I'll buy the MW600 anyway when a nice deal comes by.
Thanks for the reply.
I will look for the MW600

Yeah. I heard something about that, the X10 only comes with the MW600 in Scandinavia. Could be wrong though, but I know all X10's in Sweden comes with it!
live in norway and got one too
In Denmark on 3 it come with out the MW600 but with 16G SD card
I owned X10 from 3UK and also have MW600, But I having problem controlling music with my mw600, it just wont pause/start, forward/backward.
Does anyone know it that correct or not? My mw600 work perfectly with my Vivaz.
**My X10 is 3UK Branded is that the cause of it?
Thanks
I got mine on UK Voda ... my headfones SUCKED ((
not even 'bud' style ... just some nasty old 1990's style
not even 'Fontopia'!! :-o lol
Have an MW-600 on order. Had a DBH-200(?) a few years back and it was excellent ... until it went for a trip on the cottons cycle and died.
I personally love the retro headphones supplied with the X10 in the UK - the sound quality is stunningly good and (for me) they are way more comfortable than the noise cancelling ones.
The best sound I've had out of the X10 has come from my beloved Sennheiser Pro cans I've had from my brief time at a world-leading sound company (begins with D). A high quality MP3 in delivered very satisfying sound out, lots of bass but without overpowering the mid-range.
Great stuff from SE on this...

Well, I've noticed that I can change songs and play/pause in Spotify but not in Mediascape. So they must've missed that part. lol
MW600
I've been using the MW600 since december last year, it works nicely with virtually all SE handsets, having tested it with numerous X10 handsets it seems quite stable, especially when using it with Spotify.
to the guys who are having trouble with this, I would like to find out if there are any specific circumstances where you are finding it won't control your music. i.e are you using different music players etc?

Rogers (in Canada) is offering it as a free mail-out promo to all X10 buyers who sign a contract before April 30th. I have yet to mail out my claim form (better get on that), but it's a pretty good deal seeing as how it comes with a 16GB MicroSD card in the box as well.
Yeah I got the MW600 in the box with my preorder, its great. It connects to my westone um1's and the sound quality and battery life is very good.
Problem Resolved by Debranding the X10
I think 3UK fw disable A2DP in Mediascape only with spotify. It now working perfectly

What SW do you have?
short cord, long cord?
i cant tell by the pics that are on some sites, but are the SE MW600's have the cord where the right one is long, and the left is short?
they got it at mobilecityonline.com for 49.95. just placed my order now.
thanks.
got my
got my mw600s. sound is loud and doesnt not get distorted. very easy to pair.
just dont like that short cord, long cord on the headphones and if there was a way to have 3-5 preset fm stations, but those arent deal breakers for me.
I have HBH-DS980, then saw the MW600 that might look good with my X10. After comparing them, the HBH-DS980 sounds better. The MW600 kinda missing the bass that the HBH-DS980 has. But MW600 has the advantage of swapping headphones + FM radio.
Hi everyone, I'm new here. The HTC Aria is my first android phone, and I had an iPhone before. I am having problems, the Audio quality is really really bad. It's not my music's fault cuz it's bad for everything. I am the only one having this issue or is every one having this issue. My phone is currently rooted and is running the Liberated 2.2.2 or something like that.
Was this a problem before you rooted and changed the ROM?
Also, you need to be more specific... is the problem with the loudspeaker on the back of the phone, the earpiece (talking on the phone), or when connecting something to the headphone jack?
What software are you using to play music? What headphones / speakers are you using? ( Just curious ).
With my Sennheiser HD 280 pro headphones I've noticed the sound quality isn't as good as my girlfriend's iPod or my creative Zen vision m. It's pretty good, but nothing spectacular. I suppose it's because those are two devices specifically made for playing music, while the aria is, above all else, just a phone. With the aria I usually prefer to use "cheap" skullcandy earbuds so that I can't tell the difference in quality.
Of course, your results may vary from mine.

Thanks for the Response guys! I was using the default Music player. But I am going to try CM7 now because it has the Equalizer function.
Ok guys, it's sorta fixed. I'm using CM7 2.3.4 and a Music app that was ported from MIUI. It's sorta fixed, now so no worries. Thanks for replying fast though guys.
As the other thread is set as [solved], I made a new one, as it is not solved for me...
To check what happens I got me the left/right test track from binkster.net
And it definitely puts all audio on the left channel, the left channel data a lot quieter than the right channel data, but everything together onto the left front channel.
I guess the receivers show 5.1 because the hdmi data is indeed a 5.1 channel format, just without any sound on most of its channels. And I believe the reason it works on some TVs, is that they just detect a mono signal and put it on all speakers, or they only have one speaker in the first place.
As the audio and hdmi HW is inside the Tegra 3 SoC and the same test file plays fine on the same hdmi setup with my Tegra 2 LG P990 phone with microHDMI out, I doubt this is a hardware problem, but that Asus somehow uses the mixed up mono signal from its own single speaker as output over hdmi as well...
But maybe I am wrong, is there anyone who actually gets this left/right test to play "left" on the left speaker and "right" on the right speaker ?
I marked my thread as "solved" because I found (notes in the thread) that the prime and cable "work". But they don't "work correctly" for all connected displays. Some didn't work at all, some didn't have correct audio (as you have). Some worked perfectly. Maybe "solved" is not correct. "Understood" would be better.
My TV doesn't have correct audio either, but at least I know where the problem is. And I could buy a new TV if I had the $$.
I have opened a case with ASUS and hope to get some more info from them later this week after the holidays are well behind us.
I suggest you open a case with ASUS as well to motivate them.
Good luck.
Is there a way to look into the audio configuration? Is it alsa? Maybe they mix channels to mono there?
I poked around with various market apps and couldnt find any info.
I haven't had time to look thru the kernel code. Hopefully ASUS will post an update.
NOTE: the audio is fine with some devices. So it doesn't appear (as I first wondered) that its a mixer problem.

I opened a case already, but I think it will not really help Asus much, actually more the opposite and confuses them rather, as I mixed up right with left in my report to them
Can you download the left/right test file from binkster.net by any chance and test it on those TVs where you thought it worked and listen closely if the two words actually come from the correct speakers or just from the middle of the TV ?
In the audio track, the word "left" is spoken only on the left speaker and the word "right" on the right speaker
Thanks !

I haven't found any audio options except volume. If there are any, I would be thankful if someone can point me to the right menu to access them.
Today's update fixed my audio problems. I hadn't previously checked with my Samsung c8000 3d led TV, but I was having left channel and center only audio from my Onkyo tx-nr 809 avr. Now I'm hearing audio from all channels both from my receiver and TV.

Yes, I just wanted to make sure the TVs did not "intelligently" spread out the mono signal onto both speakers, which could be verified by the test file.

peare,
Does the Onkyo controller app from the market work on the prime?
I am on 8.3.3.33 now and STILL got the mono sound problem.
I connect my TF Prime with my Onkyo TX-NR509 receiver, which is quite state of the art. Besides, I am using a very professional HDMI cable with 1.4 standard.
Sound is only playing on the left and the center channel.
Anybody heard something from ASUS regarding this issue?

Not for me. Audio was working perfectly until I installed ICS now I don't get ANY sound over HDMI.
Has the output type changed or something? Perhaps my amp's settings need to be changed after the ICS update. There isn't a problem with the cable as the same file played ok from my computer using the same HDMI cable and input. A small chance the micro adapter is broken I suppose, but can't really test that as have no other input sources.
Has anyone tried this device with Miracast/Samsung Link (screen mirroring)? Using a Netgear PTV3000 Push2TV with the Galaxy Mega 6.3 (AT&T) the audio quality is extremely poor without any definition, sounding like mono with no bass or treble extension. I used a Note3 (AT&T) with the same Netgear PTV3000 and it sounded great. Both devices had identical and mostly excellent video quality via the PTV3000 (as long as no other programs are running or you aren't multitasking on the device). The audio/video was tested on the Mega and the Note3 using MX player, Pandora and the Android stock music (MP3) players.
I read on this forum the Mega stock video player does not support AC3 or DTS encoding of which I didn't test but I don't know if that factors in or if something else is going on. The Mega is running Android 4.2.2 stock ROM and rooted. The Note3 is running Android 4.3 stock ROM and also rooted. The PTV3000 is now updated to the latest firmware 2.4.26 and I have manually reset the device using the reset button on the back as well. Also, using a genuine Samsung MHL 2.0 (white) HDMI adapter both devices play audio and video without any sound or video quality issues.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I'm sure I left out some important details.
Sorry to hear you have this trouble. First off please make sure that you turn off any audio effects on the Mega. Secondly I am sorry to say, the decoding chip on the Mega is maybe not powerful enough for what you're trying to do. Thirdly, Maybe you can try a different player. I have had good results with the Archos video player on the Mega. Good luck!

What audio effects that you mention could be enabled/disabled? Where would they be located to change? I have gone through the device and only found the option to change the HDMI audio between stereo and 5.1. The solution you mentioned could help with playing audio in videos but it persists in Pandora streaming radio along with the stock music player too. I was thinking the same thing regarding the device itself after researching and thinking about the embedded hardware, there may be a limitation to what the device can do though I would expect it to be in the video encoding performance over Miracast and not the audio quality. I will try it out though and see how it works. Thanks.
I was referring to the system setting. Go into settings then accessibility. Tab sound balance and make sure it's in the middle. Then also uncheck mono audio.

You might not believe this but after reading a suggestion on another message board plugging in headphones and then unplugging them triggers high quality audio over Miracast on the Mega. It leads me to believe this is a ROM issue. Any thoughts?

Hi everyone
Since the very first time I used my bluetooth earbud(These are good earbuds that I've been using for a good amount of time to know that they aren't the problem) with my Mate 10, I could hear an easily recognizable crackling noise on "loud" songs e.g the ones with drums, even on low volume.
I tested different recievers; Bass boosted headphones/earbuds, "Hear what the artist wants you to hear A.K.A Studio" headphones/earbuds, speakers and even car recievers, They ALL have the same noise.
I tested in every environment with and without other BT devices active and with different music files and music player apps and nope, the noise seems to be originating in the phone,I even went back to Huawei's representative retailer where I bought the phone and checked their "sample" Mate 10 and I could hear it there too.
Now the headphone jack quality works fine and really is more than enough for a daily driver. I fiddled with the BT audio settings in developer options and they seem like they are automatically set according to the reciever, but even then it shouldn't set the bit depth to 16 bps (Or should it?).
My guess is that there is some faulty (presumably software) gain booster that's causing the BT DAC to "cut" the spectrum at frequencies above 6-8 Khz as those are first to get damaged in such cases AND that the bass is pretty good
If you have access to a BT audio device (preferably headphones because you gotta pay attention to speakers sounds especially low quality or bass boosted ones) could you please check if you experience the same problem? I already emailed Huawei maybe if it's a widespread problem they can give a solution
TL;DR Mate 10 BT audio extremely noisy,Jack audio fine, Tested in every environment with different music files and music players and BT recievers (Headphones and speakers) and with another Mate 10 device, The problem seems to be coming from the phone, Any suggestions? Can you please confirm and ask Huawei to fix it?

Hi I tested two different Bluetooth headphones. One cheap headset from Amazon and Sony SBH-52. No crackling noise with both of them. Also I used the M10P with my cars stereo yesterday. No crackling, too.

I have Bluetooth Jabra headset.
Works fine.
Same problems here ALP29 C636 with 131 build (with 128 was everything fine) Tried every damn setting in equalizer and couldnt make it better. I think fix is coming with 133 build. I am using Jaybird x3 and bt in car. It seems like is on some songs bitrate like from 2001.
There is a very long thread on a German board:
https://www.android-hilfe.de/forum/...0-pro-android-8-bluetooth-problem.853624.html
Basically, the bluetooth issues come from the software and since release of the Mate 10 Pro, Huawei has done nothing to fix them.
What music player are you using? I have a Mate 10 ALP-29 on 131 and have no problems with Bluetooth sound on any number of speakers, cars, headphones, etc. I use PowerAmp beta and tend to leave the equalizer off.
Omg I just came here to post the same thing.
So I'd a Beats X for a day or so, and sent it back, cause, weird clipping and cracking with BT audio.
Got a X3 again, and same problem, but I know this isn't a problem with the X3, so I commented the X3 to another device and I got flawlessly audio.
Hopefully Huawei does something to address this.

They don't care.
After they didn't do anything for months, I spoke with them on live chat daily.
Always with the result that they would forward it to Huawei, but nothing happens.
At this point I am considering to get the German consumer protection agency involved.
Huawei doesn't care at all, they just happily release new devices.
I thought maybe with the USA launch they would fix the problems because now there's a whole new customerbase that can complain, but apparently even now nothing happens.

Why do you think it'll be fixed in 133?
So, I contacted Huawei NL about it... Via the live chat.
Sadly I guess that this is what we have to put up to with big companies like that.
The same story:
Guy asks if I have tried resetting the phone already.
I say yes, and state that this seams a major software bug.
To what his "intelligent" answer was:
We are expecting a new update to role out and fix your problem. Bla bla bla bla
Of course to the question of what's the update number, he couldn't answer that.
So in other words, he was just stalling.
Since Huawei NL isn't responsive on social media, I've contacted Huawei UK / DE (with my broken German) and the official EMUI Twitter account.
I've also sent a mail to [email protected] and [email protected]
Although little hopes here...
If they don't fix it in a timely manner, I'll be seriously looking for other options, hopefully Nokia get their camera game together, it was the main reason I didn't go with the Nokia 8.
It's shameful that they take the headphone jack out on the Pro variant and don't even bother to check if BT audio is working.
And if Huawei won't do anything about it, there won't be much hope, the phone is far too exotic for any major tech publication to make noise about it...

Looks like a pre-drafted text.
So a quick update,
I just installed the B131 for C432 via FF.
In my (not scientific at all) test with my Jaybird X3, the audio sounds less broken although still a bit awkward when compared with a 3T and the same headphone.
Nou I just realised, that no matter what I do, I cannot choose AAC as BT codec.
I choose AAC, and as soon as I turn BT on It changes back to SBC.
Switching with BT on won't work, doesn't matter if headphones are connected or not.
On the OnePlus, it chooses AAC by default with my X3, and I can change codecs on the fly while listening to music.
I have the exact same problem and it goes away only if i play with sample rate and bits per sample. So frustrating.
A bit of a update.
Last week I was on LOS, and BT audio worked flawlessly, had no troubles at all and AAC codec worked.
Good news: it's neither a hardware or kernel issue
Bad news: remember when Huawei said that they were aware of the problem? Well, email I received today doesn't give much hope of them being aware of this.
From [email protected]
Thank you for contacting Huawei Customer Care.
In order to better assist you with the issue you are experiencing please answer the below:
1) Please tell us the detail brand, model of the Bluetooth headphone? such as Honor Xsport AM61 bluetooth headset
2) What's the build number of cellphone?(Settings->System->About phone->Build number)
3) What's your issue scenario? such as music sound noise or phone call noise, etc.
4) How often does this issue happen?
