[Q] Resurrection Remix ics v1.0 PRO or v1.1?? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Which one better?

As long as you dont want any of these changes/updates, 1.0 is better.
LP7 kernel
LPE modem
contact widgets fixed
call recorder added
CM9 AOSP apps and T9 dialler
font issues %98 fixed
new remix ics bootanimation (thanks to vreestyle)
new lidroid statusbar and settings
battery performance improvement
system performance improvement
APEX launcher updated
fast wifi browsing and gps
digital ics clock widget added
phone dialler performance improvement
deep sleep works perfect
best ics experience
device twice fast and twice fluid. (this rom ll make u addict )

I suppose it is a valid question, as there have been many users having trouble going to the newer ROM... but I think it's because many didn't install properly or skipped procedures and didn't keep up with any bug fixes. That's why I posted a more detailed installation guide HERE.
As far as performance goes, I was happy with 1.0 and believe my battery was slightly better - but it could be because I'm trying out the Siyah 3 kernel now on v1.1.

[ROM] FroyoBread | v023b FINAL | 27-07-11

I'm sorry to say that v023b is the FINAL version of FroyoBread. There will be no update anymore.
Thank all of you for supporting me in the previous 2.5 months. We DO have lots of fun in developing and using FroyoBread.
Thank you racht, always. Without you there will be nothing in CM development. I also want to thank to all donators for your beers. It's damn hot here in the summer
All future developments will be done in my GingerDX. We will have more fun there!
dx.
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Intro
This is my personal ROM in my device. This is also my first attempt to build and release a ROM I didn't plan to make this, but because of the screen on/off animation, I had no choice but to make a CM6 build. And here it is, a mostly original and latest CM6. This build version is CM6.2.0 RC 0.
The ultimate goal is a fast, smooth and lightweight Froyo having GingerBread (and some of my customized/unique) features. I will gradually port Gingerbread's feature to this Froyo. Yeah I know, many people want a fully working Gingerbread, not a mix like this. We have lots of difficulties to bring Gingerbread to X8:
Adhoc with WEP is not supported in CM7 at the moment. It's very important to me though
Rewrite of libcamera needs lots of effort
(My personal opinion) Most important fact: GB is not as smooth as Froyo. I don't know but I still have a feeling that Froyo is smoother than Gingerbread, especially in menu scrolling.
I had to take some libs and configuration files from racht's ROM. (Thank you racht, and I also thank you for your great compiling machine! You're our hero!).
Many things should work and it should be smooth. However I didn't test it carefully, it may contain some bugs.

2. Copy to sdcard
3. Reboot to xRecovery
4. Install custom zip
5. Reboot
All versions, except RC0, will preserve your DATA partition. Unless you're flashing RC0, you don't need to worry about your data. It is recommended (but optional) to make a full wipe after flashing (step 4).
Themes (Note: I am not responsible for system instability caused by these themes)
v013+: Starting from v013, FroyoBread supports T-Mobile's themes. You can find list of available T-Mobile themes in XDA Android's theme sticky. Download theme to your phone and use Theme Chooser app (included in FroyoBread v013+) to select theme. All themes for v012 and below are not supported (however, they should work when you choose System in Theme Chooser, I guess). As a a result, themers should switch their works to Theme Engine standard apk for better theme support.
For v012 and below
AChep is making CM6 A-Theme for FroyoBread. Check it out!
Here is GreenFroyoBread theme by alfsamsung.
Also, BlueFroyoBread theme is a blue theme made by mcpaddington
Another theme blueMODwhite made by Frogy Furnetal.
Yet another blue theme made by dave-blue
This is FLYNN Theme, made by Azat77.
Notice: Very important. Read all before posting questions!
1. This is my personal ROM. I just want to share it with everybody. You can report bugs here, but don't force me to fix them. I fix what I need. For example, I don't use FM Radio, so if there's a problem with it, I will probably never fix.
2. FroyoBread comes with Gingerbread theme. v013+: You can change theme with Theme Chooser! After changing theme, you need a reboot to make CM power widget works again.
3. Anyone who needs overclock module can simply copy x8oc.ko to /system/lib/modules and reboot. No need to change hw_config.sh. It will be loaded automatically.
4. I am not responsible for any bugs caused by your custom fixes. Use custom fixes at your own risk!
5. Regarding the texts in bottom Lockscreen, I will NOT remove them nor provide any option to disable them. Don't PM/post to ask for the removal. See Notice #1.
6. If you have problems with LED notification, try resetting LED Notifications in CyanogenMod Settings/User interface/Advanced/Reset
7. Start from v018, FroyoBread no longer includes Google Maps "ownhere" because of instability. Anybody who wants it can download it here, then push to /system/app.
8. FroyoBread, starting from v020, is ready for ax8mt (MultiTouch for Cypress digitizer) and ax8_smartass (smartass governor for cpufreq): Just push/copy the corresponding module to /system/lib/modules, it will be automatically loaded by FroyoBread.
9. If you want to install standard Maps on the Market:
Clean old Maps data, clean Street View data
Uninstall Street View
Install Maps using Market
Install Street View

July 08 v019. Big update (?) with fixes, updates and new features.
WARNING: Don't check "profile scrolling" and "profile flinging" in FroyoBread settings. It's supposed to be used by only me to analyze the Preference Screen performance. Ticking them will caused your phone LAG A LOT. I forgot to remove these settings before release ~.~

Configuration section for transparent status bar support: Disabled, Theme (you must use themes that have transparent statusbar_background.png), Semi-transparent (use built-in semi-transparent status bar), Gradient (use built-in gradient status bar).

Not really. I used racht's Floyo libs and configurations to make the device boots and to support hardware (like bluetooth, wifi...).
Everything else is compiled from latest CM6 source.
racht's Floyo is based from eramux's Floyo (which is also based on CM6, but from an older version).
nice work. btw, does this have the "tun.ko" module?
Doixanh, I can't say I love you enough
I've always wanted a ROM like this, just clean CM6 built from the latest sources.

i'm assuming that you are talking about the status bar. it works but it's very finicky. you just have to hit the right spot. keep trying.
fm radio and theme manager (sony launcher > desktop > menu > theme) keep crashing. also, digital clock widget is not working properly; the last digit is so small that you almost can't see it. very minor issues. overall, the rom seems to be performing very well. super fast, super smooth. my main concern when i'm choosing a rom for the mini pro is battery life. i will try to report back tomorrow night after a full discharge cycle to give you my impression.
here are a couple screen shots for those of you wondering what the rom looks like (obviously, i'm using the sony launcher as opposed to the regular launcher).
edit: theme manager works, as long as you access it through the launcher.
What the F.. K is this really you. Nice to see you back friend with a present...

[Q] Which rom do you use and why?

Hi, guys.I'm here with a question.Which rom(s) do you use?And why? What makes you keep using gb, ics or jb?What do they have special? For instance, I'm sick of lagging ics roms and i installed cm10 and i returned to ics.And what i realized is especially Sony's stock camera app and other portable apps makes me use stock-based ics.(You would know how ugly the camera app of cm stuff is if you tried cm9/10.)'Nuff said. What are your reasons?
I was MIUI ICS for long and changed to pacman 4.1 and CM10 (4.1) all these ROM are not daily drivers. So now just wondering which is best config and Android version gives optimal performance on aging Neo Hardware.
I have Xperia Neo V with locked boot-loader and stock kernel .587. After trying several ROM I have settled on 'Ice Cream Pureness', with a few of my own changes, like Cyber-shot camera 7.1.2, Walkman, stock calendar, etc. This is very smooth ROM, with no bloat ware, and lots of free Internal memory.
MIUI
MIUIv2
based on CyanogenMod 7
I am Using MIUIv2 MultilangV4.6.2 because:
Lot's of Free Ram -> Up to 230 MB
Lightning Fast
Nice Battery Performance
No Errors like FC & etc (Only FC in Sync Settings)
Bright User Interace Easy to use good-feeling
Lot of other reason
I suggest everyone ti try it once;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599516
In my opinion MIUI v2(GB) is houndered times better than MIUIV4(ICS)
I use Codename X by eman
Why?
-Stable
-Fast
-Options
-Free Ram
-Nice design (but keyboard sux)
-And CyanogenMod is comercial for me
For now i using MIUI Australia v 2.11.30
After try other rom,for me this one is the great rom for my device.
Coz not so many custom rom for Neo L :crying:
Hi,
I used Sony ICS on my Neo V and I was all the time thinking to downgrade to GB. Now I have installed CM10 and I am quite happy. It is true that it is not stable and there are some features missing, but I have quite a good performance. I miss mostly the camera features, but there are some apps on the market that are really helpful (Vignette or Pano/360 for panorama).
Mine lol
im using my first rom BRABUS NXT for Neo V based on GB
1) lots of free ram [265mb at first reboot]
2)smooth interface based on Xperia Z
3) great battery when overclockked on stock 1024 gHz
4)nice performance
5) most beautiful launcher/systemUI/framework
try it if you like it
ROM Cooked On My Own. (Basically Stock Based, ICS)
Reasons:
-Able to choose selective apps & mods
-Able to theme the way I want it
-Stock base because it is bugfree.
-ICS because there are more mods & apps available which are not compatible with Gingerbread.
-Finally, don't have to wait for the updates!
Cheers
ak070
For now I'm using Gin2JellyBean ROM (based GB 2.3.7) by vokal1992. All I want just stability, no lags, music, and camera. And I think I got thats all in this ROM :victory:
Using Legacy Xperia 10.1 (2013/09/08 release)
1/ Its stable, havn't had any FC or restarts.
2/ The ROM is nice and smooth / no lag issues.
3/ Its Jelly Bean - maybe its a personal preference but I tend to like JB better than ICS.
4/ Quite a good amout of free storage and no issues with RAM either.
1 con is that my battery tends to last me about 12h I feel that the battery drains rather fast even with the screen off. However so far the above pros does negate this one for me.
I have been using the ZellyCream 3.0.1 with Stock ICS Kernel
Pros:
1. Nice look and feel
2. Install Apps directly to SD card - built in feature
3. Kill apps via back button, 30 Step volume, Skip tracks via volume key and many such small but useful features for day to day use
4. Very much stable for daily use
5. Good battery life
Cons:
1. Initially used to give quite a lot of free RAM, but after a few days and installing the regular apps, the amount of free RAM went down
Xperia Ultimate HD 5.0 with Alliance kernel.Fast, stable with unified and pretty design. Before this one I used Gagan's Zelly Cream 3.0.1 as my daily ROM,that one was good too but UHD 5.0 is faster and prettier.Dont like Jelly Bean ROMs because they have crappy camera and are often buggy.
I use CM 10 ... I used to run on MIUIv4 ... but sice I ve tried JB everything has changed ... ICS is slow for me and GB is old. I think it s worth of HDMI and 720p recording.
I just moved from STROID to Xperia Z Jelly Bean purely for 'beauty' reasons. I installed the ROM last night and have been really impressed by its beautiful GUI. I don't plan to play a lot of games so I don't know whether it can perform well for heavy games.
It's always a question of Performance or Appearance
I use 4.2.2 Mike's rom with few Xperia apps to get stock feel it's pretty stable also latest rom we can enjoy latest features... Only thing i'm missing is camera quality

How to flash
Copy the rom to sdcard
Extract boot.img from the zip file and flash it with fastboot
Enter recovery by clicking the volume down key
A factory reset is highly recommended (Factory reset from version 1.4 to 1.5 is necessary)
Then Install zip from sdcard
if the phone gets stuck on boot reinsert the battery and start it again and it should work, idk why this happens
Credits
Pizza_Dox (for turbo script)
Wedgess (for zram enabeler and modules)

How to play HD games
In terminal type "turbu" or "swapit" turbo will prepare your device for gaming and with swapit you can configure the swap file, its not recommended that you use both at the same time. To disable turbo restart your device and to disable swap in terminal type swapoff.

Look nice. I'll try this ROM now
I want to try this once my bandwidth limit refreshes (stupid ISP!) but may I ask, what's wrong with Video Recording? Isn't that supposed to be controlled by the kernel?

Sometimes when you stop recording the app yust crashes and sometimes it dosent save it i am curently trying to fix it new version will be out soon
EDIT:It was the kernel after all, you need to flash the 720p version the down side is that it uses more ram
New version relesed!
This is the best performance ICS rom I've seen for ages!!!!! I can play GTA San Andreas with no FC unlike other roms
Look at those posts on the SA thread here and here to see my review
Also it has a lot of internal space as shown in tthe OP, but for some reason I didn't have that much fre RAM. Anyway rom is smooth as butter. Trubo mode is good for heavy game, but it ruins multitasking, so don't activate it unless you need it.
Rom is awesome, but it will be better if you add some little features which we are really used to:
- notification toggles
- reboot options and screenshot by power button longpress (maybe with xposed framework module)
- battery percentage icon
Camera recording has an autofocus bug. It continously zooms in and out for some reason
This review was done in base of v1 with 720p Lupus ICS beta. Will try the v1.1 ASAP

I have seen the review before
You have les ram because of 720p kernel version which uses more ram than 480p where video recording dosent work
The notification toggles is something I wanted to add but ot uses 50mb of ram which is alot (i could make a addon zip for it)
The reboot and screenshot will be aded as soon as i learn how to do it without xposed framework and battery percentage is something i will look in to
I have noticeed that the camera can be buggy i will try to fix it as soon as i can.

I know the 720p kernel uses more ram, but its not too much (~20 mb). I mean the sreenshot in OP has 225mb free ram and I only get 150-180 mb free.
Anyway, great rom. And GREAT BATTERY LIFE!!!!! I've been using this rom with a single charge for 3 days now, and thats after playing SA for 30 min daily, Facebook profile checks on browser, a few calls to coordinate new year party and a lot of music playing

i was using this rom as my daily driver for today
bugs:
1-some ui lags that they are all related to ***** android 4.0.3 beta (i think its better to update your rom with a new version like 4.1.b.13)
2-some soft reboots due to my heavy usage(its ok to have this problem. i only had it in gta san andreas that is a very heavy game.)
anything else seems to be fine
but i don't understand why you removed calculator (because it doesn't eat any ram)

Ive noticed that the rom can be buggy sometimes and i will update it as soon i get my kernel up and running on it, and i removed the calculator because it can be downloaded from the playstore if its needed...
wow you are going to make a kernel
great news for us
only a suggestion for your kernel
add custom partition to it like the one that wedgess made for his lupus kernel
